Rep. Dan Crenshaw is a retired Navy SEAL who served and was wounded in Afghanistan’s Helmand province during his third deployment, in 2012. He lost his right eye and his left eye was badly damaged in an IED attack. Crenshaw is held in extremely high regard in the veteran and active-duty communities.
Lara Logan is a long-time award-winning journalist now working for Fox News who has spent much of her career covering war zones including Iraq and Afghanistan. Between the two of them, Logan and Crenshaw have spent years in and around Afghanistan. (Snip)
Both Logan and Crenshaw are independently reporting that Americans have been turned away from safety at that airport

A study of 800,000 people in Israel has found that natural immunity in people who have recovered from an earlier COVID-19 infection is vastly superior to the immunity acquired by vaccination using two of the major vaccines in use. The conclusion:
This analysis demonstrated that natural immunity affords longer lasting and stronger protection against infection, symptomatic disease and hospitalization due to the delta variant.
Bloomberg summarizes:
People who recovered from a bout of Covid-19 during one of the earlier waves of the pandemic appear to have a lower risk of contracting the delta variant than those who got two doses of the vaccine from Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE.

Ohio Senate candidate and author J.D. Vance has spoken out against the importation of tens of thousands of Afghan refugees in the wake of the United States’ disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal.
Vance recently appeared on Steve Cortes and Jenn Pellegrino’s Newsmax TV program to discuss the issue.
“I really think people are radically underappreciating what this means,” he said. “60,000 Afghan refugees completely unvetted, you’re going to get a lot of bad people in that group.”
Vance added that the United States’ permitting of chain migration could significantly boost that figure.
“Those 60,000 people could eventually lead to four or five per refugee. So 60,000 could become 400,000 really quickly.

California models are urging their social media followers to oust Democratic governor Gavin Newsom, who faces a recall election in less than three weeks.
Model and actress Korrina Rico said on Tuesday she was going to spend every day until the Sept. 14 election rallying influencers to speak out against Newsom, who she says has "literally trashed the state."
"If you wanna save the state of California, you need to vote yes," Rico said. "I'm calling out all the influencers right now, September 14 is the day we need to recall him."
Rico's call prompted a reply video from Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Chelsea Heath, who used her platform to bash Newsom.

Fox & Friends Weekend host Rachel Campos-Duffy is catching a lot of flak for saying over the weekend what many of us noted during the campaign: that Joe Biden’s loved ones should have spared this rapidly declining man the ordeal (and shame) of serving as POTUS when his health was obviously not up to the task. Mike Miller of RedState quotes her from last Sunday: (Snip) “No one knew better his state of mind than Jill, Dr. Jill Biden. And if you ask me, the most patriotic thing Jill Biden could have done was tell her husband, to love her husband, and not let him run in this mental

Either Joe Biden, his advisors, and our military are woefully ill-informed, or they are purposefully lying to the public about the situation on the ground in Afghanistan. Either way, Americans of all political views should be aghast.
First, the fact that the administration has told U.S. citizens to leave the Kabul airport and “shelter in place”—effectively, “go somewhere else”—or move to neighboring provinces or other locations without safe escort is simply inexcusable. I am among the scores of private citizens and ad-hoc organizations trying to help rescue our colleagues in Afghanistan. We have known for days not only that rapidly deteriorating security has been a continuous problem outside the airport

A network of “hundreds of thousands” of people, including analysts, are using satellite imagery and other tools to help Afghan interpreters who worked for U.S. forces to evade Taliban checkpoints in Kabul and bring them to the safety of the airport.
The network’s work is necessary because the Biden administration is refusing to offer any assistance to the 20,000 interpreters and their families who are at great risk every second they remain in Afghanistan.

Zeller described a “digital Dunkirk” campaign working to evacuate the Afghan interpreters. He said “hundreds of thousands” of people joined the movement after just a few weeks,

Col. Richard Kemp, CBE, joined Mark Levin on ‘Life, Liberty & Levin’ this week following fall of Afghanistan.
Colonel Kemp in an earlier interview on GBNews said, “From the moment President Biden ‘made that decision to withdraw without any regard for the security situation in Afghanistan… this situation was absolutely inevitable.”

During his interview with Mark Levin Col. Kemp said the fall of Afghanistan has devastating effects on NATO. “President Biden has completely destroyed his credibility single-handedly… Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State are strong in Afghanistan. They will operate freely.

The Biden administration ignored or jettisoned carefully designed plans to withdraw from Afghanistan, with the result being chaos and bedlam, a former national security official to President Donald Trump said.
"I don't even know that anyone could have made this awful scenario up," former National Security Council Senior Director Kash Patel told Just the News. "It's literally worse than you could possibly conjure." (Snip)
Careful plans, though, already were laid out by the Trump administration, and were offered to Team Biden, Patel said.
The overarching theme was a conditions-based withdrawal, whereby the U.S. military would leave Afghanistan in increments if the Taliban met clear conditions, according to Patel.

The answer to the question posed by the title is “No,” at least not alone, and I suspect Larry Elder would agree. But the hack cliché is that every journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, and dumping Governor Hairstyle in favor of someone who is not a complete buffoon is a necessary first step.
Word on the street is that Larry Elder is the most likely to win if Question 1 (“Should we dump this idiot Newsom?”) and move on to Question 2 (“Now that we’re rid of that twit, who do we want to foist this thankless job upon?”).

Students at Connecticut’s Quinnipiac University will be fined up to $2,275 and lose internet access if they fail to comply with the university’s COVID-19 vaccination policies.
The private liberal arts college in New Haven County announced the new penalties on Aug. 16 in an email sent to some 600 students who haven’t yet provided proof of COVID-19 vaccination or requested an exemption.
Students at Quinnipiac were required to submit their vaccination records by Aug. 1, according to an email obtained by The Epoch Times. Those not in compliance by Sept. 14 will begin to face $100 weekly fines, with increases of $25 after every two weeks,

WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana — Mitch Daniels, the president of Purdue University, has a letter he wants to share. (Snip) It is clear he measures the weight of everything he has done since he became the 12th president of Purdue University in 2013. This includes the past year, when he kept the university open during COVID with protections and protocols many called controversial.
“The past 18 months have taught me that while you cannot control the world around you, you can control how you live within those circumstances. That is what defines who you are and what builds resilience and character,” he said of how he approached his responsibilities as a university

That is, turned away by American soldiers under orders from, ultimately, Biden. Have there ever been such rotting hunks of garbage running our country?
