The Texas House of Representatives on Thursday passed the voting bill so reviled by Democrats that they fled the state to deny the quorum needed to hold a vote on it. The six-week political showdown drew to a close when three of the fleeing Democrats, who had warrants out for their arrest, gave up their fight and returned to work. The returning lawmakers said they'd brought the national attention they wanted to the bill and had spurred Congress to take up federal voting legislation. The bill passed 79-37 mostly along party lines. It will now proceed to a vote in the Senate on Friday, where it's expected to pass,
How'd that taste, Democraps? Was it worth your stupid little grandstanding?
Now pass legislation that makes fleeing to avoid a quorum a felony.

Texas has also been prosecuting people that engaged in voter fraud. Granted they are generally the small fish but it is a start.

Meanwhile back in DC, under cover of the bloody smoke of the Afghanistan debacle, the House bill that would neutralize all the state's voting laws moves to the Senate.

The only thing Texas Democrats brought to national attention is that they are clueless morons who could not justify their illogical positions, so they ran away like the crybabies they are. Nancy Mace's classic takedown of Senfronia Thompson exposed them for who and what they are.

Could anyone explain to me why proving you are eligible to vote the ballot in your district is racist?

Black demonrats are rushing to court - - to file suit against this racist bill.
But of course - - they'll have to show photo ID to get into the courthouse.

Is the lack of ID also the reason that blacks are the largest group of Un-vaxed? Far as I know, you need ID to get the big one.

Yes #10. They paid no personal price for the runaway and therefore, it is a tactic they will use again. Abbott just does not have the stomach to back up tough talk with bold action that settles a battle in a definitive victory. As my Congressman said, this simple bill is long overdue. Really getting somewhere would be to do what #10 suggests.

#11, as a fellow Texan, I don't understand your comment at all.
It was because Gov. Abbott stood strong on this, and made it clear that not only would he keep calling special sessions until this bill was passed, but also that he would have these evil Demon-Rat cowards arrested if they did not return to their jobs here in Texas, that we have this law today!!!!
Gov. Abbott blew it last year on the over-reaction to Covid. He knows it. He alienated a lot of his supporters in the process. From what I have seen, he has been working overtime to earn back his conservative credentials. The fact that these cowardly Demon-Rats folded and we have this law in Texas today is directly due to the Gov. Abbott making it clear he would not put up with this BS.
I was more than happy to call out Gov. Abbott last year when he failed at his job. But I truly believe that, next to the Florida governor, Abbott is standing very strong for conservative principals this year. Right now, I see this as a victory for Gov. Abbott and all Texans who respect the law and election integrity!!!

Hey, excuse second post dear staff. #12, I am perhaps expecting too much of Governor Abbott. I want to take my Governor at his word and I don’t think empty threats are okay anymore. Now I gave him more of a break on the COVID situation because he was really under the pressure. He had to deal with border breaches and crazy press scrutiny. So I gave him a little bit more of a pass on that one. I want him to make good on promises whether its about the TX National Guard numbers, making good on arrest warrants and not just make a show of it, etc.
When it comes to dealing with outrageous and technically unlawful Texas Democrat politicians I want him to be a “law and order” leader all the way. These idiots came back when they felt like it. They should have their pay deducted at the very least. As I said perhaps I expect too much.
