Robert F. Kennedy's assassin, Sirhan Sirhan, was granted parole by a California board Friday after spending more than 50 years in prison after two of his sons said they support his release, a decision that still needs to be approved by the governor.
Sirhan gunned down Kennedy, then a Democratic U.S. Senator from New York and brother of President John F. Kennedy, in 1968 at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles moments after Kennedy delivered a victory speech in the pivotal California primary. Sirhan was convicted of first-degree murder.
Sirhan, a Christian Palestinian from Jordan, has said he was angry at Kennedy for his support of Israel.
Is there any crime that is punishable by imprisonmment anymore?
Sirhan should be in prison for the rest of his life.

He should have been dead years ago, but he escaped the death penalty due to a bunch of sniveling Democraps on the court at that time.
It's hard to get too worked up about this since even the Kennedys didn't oppose it.

I doubt he'll shoot somebody again - I dunno what do you do after 50 years in prison? Get a job,? You're already 76 years old not a time to start a career unless you want fires with that or a door greeter at Wal-Mart is your thing. They took about deporting him back to Lebanon, that probably not a good idea because he's a Christian. Not sure there are many smart answers on this.

Bring him to my place. I've got a spare bedroom. He can starve there.

He's done less damage to the USA than our president has, so what the heck, go for it. With any luck the guy will take a stroll in DC or Martha's Vineyard and get mowed down by a drunk-driving Kennedy.

But for Sirhan Sirhan, Bobby Kennedy would have likely been elected POTUS in 1968. One wonders what the trajectory of the country would have been had that occurred. Jack Kennedy's most notable achievement in office was intercepting the trajectory of a couple of bullets. Bobby was far more liberal than Jack but had no particular talent for administration or anything else except being a horndog Kennedy.

Anyone who changed the course of a nation by killing a possible president, should never be released!
The penalty should be the same as the assassination of a president.

#15 nails. No individual has the right to play with the fate of the nation. Life imprisonment without possibility of parole.

# 11 - okay this might not be nice and it's okay if it's censored or whatever, but did anyone ever listen to Robert Kenned talk. He sounded like a squirrel on helium. Just sayin'.....

Did the parole board consult with the children of Robert Kennedy?
If RFK lived, there would have been more speeches for Joey to plagiarize.

Just goes to show how insignificant the Kennedy legacy has become. 20 years ago St. Bobby's killer would have never been set free. Now it's "Robert Who?"

I agree with previous posters: Sirhan should die in prison. Now, he won’t. However, take some comfort in a few facts. He probably won’t live much longer. He’s an institutional man by now - for 53 years, he’s been told when to get up, eat, dress, work and sleep. He’s had to ask permission to go to the bathroom. He now has to worry about where his next meal is coming from, and where his bed is, and where his clothing is, and where he’ll live. He has no skills; he’s unemployable. He’ll be absolutely lost, and totally dependent upon the good will of others. He won’t last. He probably wishes he could stay in prison; it’s really all he knows.

Yes of course he was. As this as one more reason to recall Gruesome Newsome. Larry Elder can hopefully revoke it.

If the story is true that Peter Lawford witnessed RFK poison Marilyn Monroe, then all Sirhan did was execute justice.

Would Gavin Newsom dare release Sirhan Sirhan before the recall election? Newsome will not act until after the election.

He was originally sentenced to death. Then he was given life. Why do we have a death penalty? Because otherwise some simpering fool wants the murder out later.

This will go against what many posters feel but Sirhan was three feet in front of RFK— the fatal would was behind his right ear at close enough range to cause powder burns. Sirhan had 8 rounds, but there were more than 8 shots fired. He was quite obviously shot from the rear.
