It’s only rock ‘n’ roll, so the Rolling Stones will play on without drummer Charlie Watts — and you’ll like it.The rock band will continue their US tour in September, according to the Sun, and the band will pay an emotional tribute to their fallen friend at their concert next month.Watts died at the age of 80 on Aug. 24. Members Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood will continue their No Filter Tour in St. Louis on Sept. 26.The Post has reached out to the band’s reps for comment.Watts previously left the tour due to a medical issue earlier this month.
It's the chemistry among the definitive members that made the great bands great. Tommy Thayer can play the licks but Kiss without Ace isn't Kiss. (Heck, they were no longer Kiss after Peter got thrown out.) Fleetwood Mac without Lindsey was one of the most boring shows I can remember. Even Van Halen was never the same without David Lee - commercially successful for many years but the electricity was gone. Curious to see ZZ Top with their replacement bassist. They all try to keep on (Rush will be the exception). The Stones will tour and there'll be drummer - but it won't be Charlie.

Why St. Louis? The Stones play white music.

Saw them in ‘72 for for 10 bucks. Nine times after that. Ronnie (to us old timers he’s still the ‘new guy) has had a relapse for lung cancer recently and is no doubt looking over his shoulder. Charlie’s gone. God bless you, Charlie. It’s time guys, it’s time.
This tour, for last show, do “Last time” for encore and then say good night.

Will they bring his ashes on the tour? Literally, "Strolling Bones" these days.

Ironic that the cleanest living band member was the first to die. I'm not counting the druggie who drowned in his swimming pool as he technically wasn't a member of the band, having been fired a month earlier.

No Filter Tour, they call it? Next year, they'll be back on the road twice, - Spring and late Summer - with the No Dialysis Tour, followed by the "3 Stents To The Wind" Tour.

I suspect this is it as far as the Stones touring again. This tour was already in place, and the band members are all in their late 70's. Mick might still have some energy left to dance around the stage a bit, but he can't do it all through the concert. Besides, do hardcore Stones fans really want to see a 79 year old man prance around a stage in tight pants? I saw them in 72 when they were all in their late 20's, and I'm was glad I got the chance to see them in their prime. Now, not so much. Those 40 and under just won't get the same experience. The music will sound familiar, but the energy won't be there.

The tour is already in the pipeline and as a fan I was always okay with it with Keith's friend being the drummer.
And I'm super glad there's another album in the pipeline.
But I think Charlie Watts death has forced their hand to hang it up. And Keith always said that if Charlie goes the band is done.
Bittersweet times for this fan !

Who wants to see a bunch of geriatric rock and rollers prancing around a stage. The Stones are so 60ish. Just retire already.

Oh, Lord, guys. It’s well last time for you to hang it up. Leave us with great memories of your music. These geriatric tours are always an embarrassment.
