The U.S. military launched another helicopter rescue mission outside the Kabul airport last night to rescue 'less than' 20 Americans, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby revealed Wednesday.
This is the third time American forces have launched helicopters to rescue Americans outside the airport.
"Last night, during the period of darkness, there was an operation to be able to go out and safely evacuate evacuees back into Kabul," U.S. Army Maj. Gen. William Taylor told reporters during a briefing. "They are at Hamid Karzai International Airport and they are preparing to be evacuated."

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday slammed the rogue trip by two House members to Afghanistan during the ongoing and dangerous military evacuation effort from Kabul.
Pelosi, D-Calif., said Reps. Peter Meijer, R-Mich., and Seth Moulton, D-Mass., wanted to "freelance on their own" when the pair of lawmakers this week traveled to Afghanistan without the approval of the leadership. She said the trip put them at risk and strained resources that should have gone to evacuating Americans and others.
"This is deadly serious," Pelosi said at a Capitol news conference Wednesday. "You do not want members to go."

President Biden is struggling to provide a message of strength and confidence amid international scorn and uncertainty over his handling of the U.S. military drawdown in Afghanistan — showing up late to speeches, refusing to answer reporters' questions, and largely avoiding the White House press corps ever since Taliban insurgents took over the country in a matter of days.
Biden's remarks Tuesday from the White House were delayed more than four hours after being rescheduled twice, and the U.S. evacuation effort in Afghanistan was the last topic he addressed after touting his Build Back Better agenda.

Editor’s Note: Shortly after publication, CNN and Fox News reported that the state department official misinformed lawmakers during the briefing and the 4,100 figure is not accurate. This article will be updated with further details after Secretary of State Blinken’s briefing. The State Department revealed Wednesday to congressional staffers that 4,100 U.S. citizens remain in Afghanistan and wish to be evacuated, multiple outlets reported.
Not all of those Americans are in and around Kabul, the capital of the nation where the airport is situated, a Senate aid told CNN.
As part of the U.S. airlift mission, 4,400 Americans successfully traveled to the Kabul airport

The remarks Joe Biden gave earlier today on the Afghanistan fiasco may go down as one of the most embarrassing, humiliating speeches given by a President in modern United States history if not the entire history of this country.
For starters, as per the norm, he did not look well as he read from the teleprompter, looking tired and winded after appearing five hours late for the so-called “press conference.” Secondly, and as my colleague Bonchie noted in his write-up, our collective intelligence was insulted as Biden not only lied about a call he had earlier today with G7 leaders, saying there was “strong agreement”

Tens of thousands of Afghans awaiting U.S. visas and thousands of American citizens are still stuck in Kabul, unable to find safe passage through frantic crowds, Taliban checkpoints and Afghan guards stationed outside the airport.
Gunfire erupted outside of the north gate of Hamid Karzai International Airport on Monday, killing a number of Afghan security forces. American officials have repeatedly had to close the gates for extended periods, leading guards to turn away even U.S. passport holders.
Multiple sources point to deteriorating conditions inside the airport, including lack of power and sanitation. And tension has emerged between American troops

On Tuesday, President Biden made it clear that he would not extend the evacuation of Americans and allies past his arbitrary August 31 deadline. And with the military’s need to pack up their own stuff and Fox News warning that the military would leave in roughly three days, it was obvious Biden was ready to completely abandon Americans to their fate with the Taliban. And of the big three broadcast networks, ABC’s World News Tonight was the only one to explicitly address what Biden’s plan would result in.
While ABC wasn’t pulling punches, CBS Evening News seemed to either be holding out hope or trying to push the Biden administration’s gaslighting.

Joe Biden finally gave his big Afghanistan presser this afternoon. Arriving five hours late for the event, the President took the stage. His eyes were bloodshot and glazed over with his pace of speaking obviously labored as he began to robotically read the teleprompter.
What then transpired was one of the most insulting, tone-deaf spectacles I’ve ever seen from a president. Instead of getting right into the crisis in Afghanistan, Biden inexcusably began the presser by plugging his “Build Back Better” agenda.
No, I’m not kidding. It was absolutely surreal.

Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, D., is having a rough week. After he resigned on Monday amid a sexual harassment scandal, he was stripped of his 2020 International Emmy Award the next day, and many critics don't think he deserved the honor in the first place.
"These idiots should have pulled this Emmy months ago. Instead, they wait until the day Cuomo is out. Maybe they can give it to his anchor brother, who gave a powerful performance emerging from his basement after faking his own quarantine," Fox News contributor Joe Concha said, referring to CNN anchor Chris Cuomo.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday declined to block a lower-court ruling that will require the Biden administration to reinstate the Trump-era “Remain in Mexico” policy for asylum seekers at the U.S. border.
The court’s three liberal justices dissented, saying they would have granted the administration’s request to halt the lower court’s order.
The administration had sought to end the policy, which forces migrants to await their U.S. immigration court dates in Mexico.

President Biden has decided to adhere to his initial August 31 deadline for withdrawing American forces from Afghanistan, multiple outlets reported on Tuesday.
Biden has requested contingency plans should the U.S. need to keep troops in Afghanistan until a later date, a senior administration official told CNN. A Taliban spokesman said on Tuesday that the U.S. must withdraw all its forces from the country by August 31, with “no exceptions.”
In response to the Taliban threat, Senator Ben Sasse (R., Neb.) urged Biden to ignore the withdrawal deadline.
“Damn the deadline. The American people are not going to surrender our fellow citizens to the Taliban.

It just keeps getting better and better, doesn’t it? That is if you’re the Taliban, al Qaeda, ISIS — now resurfacing in Afghanistan — and the rest of the toxic stew of Islmastist extremism hellbent on forcing — by any barbaric means necessary — the planet back to the 7th-century world of the Kharijites.
However, if you’re hapless Joe Biden or a member of his equally hapless administration, you’re anywhere from dangerously delusional to afraid to tell “the big guy” he’s been catastrophically wrong about the debacle he and he alone created — from his no-plan “plan” to jerk American forces out of Afghanistan, inexplicably abandon Bagram Air Base
