All tropical storm warnings have been discontinued for Tropical Storm Henri as it continues to weakens as it moves inland after leaving parts of Rhode Island and New York under water. The storm came ashore in Westerly, Rhode Island at around 12.15pm, the National Hurricane Center reported, with gusts of up to 70 miles per hour and sustained winds of up to 60 miles per hour. Flash flood warnings were issued for New York City, parts of southern New York and Southeastern New Jersey as the effects of Tropical Storm Henri could still be felt throughout the New England region going into Sunday evening.

The disadvantage to infrequent tropical storms is the total lack of preparation and proper building maintenance, drainage maintenance and tree maintenance. We hardly bat an eye at tropical storms down south.

Oddly New York City seems to have gotten the heaviest rain although it came ashore in Rhode Island. Maybe it will flush away some of the riff-raff.

President Joe Biden thinks history will strongly support his Afghanistan decision which led to a Taliban takeover, deaths of innocent human beings, rape of children, oppression of women and the total waste of over $2 trillion.During a train wreck of a speech on Sunday, Biden delivered comments from the White House where he continued to voice his support for his botched Afghanistan withdraw which has been widely criticized by most people in the media.Biden went as far to say that his decision was not only right, but “logical” and “rational” as well.

The White House repeatedly refused to address the Taliban's August 31 deadline to get US troops out of Afghanistan on Monday, dodging questions on the subject and snapping at reporters who asked how the government planned to save the remaining Americans stuck in Kabul. The Taliban's spokesman issued the sternest threat yet to Biden on Monday morning, saying there will be 'consequences' if US troops - who are holed up at the airport in Kabul evacuating tens of thousands of people and fending off an increasingly desperate crowd - don't leave in the next eight days. Biden and his administration have no idea how many Americans remain trapped in Afghanistan,

Over the past days there have been reports that the Taliban is attempting to implement some degree of greater disciplined uniformity in terms of the appearance of its forces as it prepares to "govern" war-torn Afghanistan. There are suggestions the group could move to the look of a more professional military as part of its bid for "legitimacy" both at home and abroad. This as opposed to their typical rag-tag appearance as bearded jihadists from the mountains wearing Islamist garb. And they have a little bit of help after inheriting some $80+ million in military equipment after the US and Western coalition troop exit. "Meet the new Taliban teams,

Hurricane Henri, which has since been downgraded to a tropical depression, is makings its way up the Northeast, bringing heavy rain, storm surges, power outages, flooding, and high winds to those in its path.On Sunday evening, President Biden issued a word of warning to those in the affected areas, but rather than focus on practical advice relevant to a storm of this nature, he of course made it all about Covid-19.“To those in Henri’s path: Don't forget that you may need to seek shelter while we’re still battling COVID-19 and the Delta variant,” he tweeted. “So wear a mask and try to observe social distancing.”

The Taliban has delivered a chilling warning to foreign nationals and Afghans scrambling to leave the country, saying there will be 'consequences' if the US does not leave Afghanistan by August 31 and extends a deadline for the withdrawal of troops. Thousands of Afghans who worked with U.S. military forces remain camped around Kabul airport trying to find safety as the clock ticks down. American nationals are also waiting for their own flights home. President Joe Biden wants all Americans to be out by the end of the month, in order to meet the troop withdrawal agreement reached with the Taliban,

Almost everything Joe Biden has touched since entering office has turned to dross. None of his blame-gaming, none of his distortions, none of his fantasies and unreality can mask that truth. The Afghan Catastrophe - Seven months ago, Afghanistan was relatively quiet—with about 10,000 vestigial NATO troops, including 2,500 Americans, anchored by the Bagram Airfield. They were able to provide air superiority for the coalition and Afghan national army. With air power, NATO forces, if and when they so wished, could have very slowly and gradually withdrawn all its remnant troops—but only after a prior departure of all American and European civilians, coalition contractors, and allied Afghans.

The U.S. Capitol Police officer who fatally shot Ashli Babbitt on Jan. 6 during the insurrection was cleared Monday after an internal review concluded the action may have spared the lives of lawmakers and staffers who had barricaded themselves inside the building. "The officer’s actions were consistent with the officer’s training and (U.S. Capitol Police) policies," the agency's inquiry found. The agency declined to identify the officer. Federal prosecutors decided in April not to pursue criminal charges in the case.
