Afghanistan is much worse than the fall
of Saigon. Biden needs to act like it

Original Article

The past week was filled with harrowing images out of Afghanistan. Helicopters evacuating U.S. embassy staff in a visual callback to the fall of Saigon. Taliban soldiers roaming the streets, executing innocents. Afghans clinging to the outside of C-17s, some falling to their deaths after takeoff. Like most Americans, I agreed with Presidents Trump and Biden’s goal to finally leave Afghanistan after 20 years. In my naivete, I expected a modicum of competence as we withdrew. By Sunday, everyone realized the withdrawal was a tactical fiasco. But instead of correcting the problems, our governmental officials thought it best to point fingers.

If this administration were serious about getting Americans out of Afghanistan, they'd be retaking the Bagram Air Base, which should have been the last place to vacate in the first place. Bagram can handle U.S. C-5 Galaxy transports, the largest in the U.S. inventory. They could stage a squadron of A-10 attack aircraft and several squadrons of Ah-1W Super Cobra helicopters, capable of taking out the hundreds of armored vehicles Biden unwisely left for the Taliban and their international terrorist supporters and jihadi brethren, to support a Marine Expeditionary Force, like 1 MEF out of Camp Pendleton, which would provide serious air-ground capability necessary to impose the will of the U. S. Once the mission is accomplished, all of the military gear being left behind could then be destroyed, along with whatever enemy forces are in control of them at the moment. However, this administration is not as serious about getting Americans out as they are in pursuing their social justice objectives, the antithesis of war fighting capability.

The video with the article shows Ned Price, who is a spokesman for some part of the incompetent Biden Regime. I heard him on TV. The snippiest, harshest, most abrasive person imaginable. The kind who would invite a pie in the face except for the waste of a pie. Maybe a right jab!

Ned Price is spokesman for the Department of State. His Wiki page says he is openly gay. It also says that as a graduate of St. Mark’s School in Dallas, and a former editor of its Remarker newspaper, he still enjoys going back for its campouts as a supervisor. I’ll just bet he does.

This is a “hat trick” move for Biden, as he was in the Senate when the liberal Democrats refused to give South Vietnam any US support when it was facing a military invasion by North Vietnam that was the genesis for the fall of Saigon, Biden also orchestrated the Obama Administration’s retreat from Iraq after his idea of transforming Iraq into three separate countries failed, and now it was Biden’s decision that started the quick US “bug out” from Afghanistan without advising or consulting NATO allies who had troops in Afghanistan, leaving many thousands of US citizens behind, along with thousands of Afghans who had assisted the US efforts in that hostile and primitive tribal place.

Just watched Last Days in Vietnam for the 6th time, or is it 60th. Our guys did what made sense, nevermind orders from the Ambassador and/or Washington. Vietnam gets a bad rap. And look at the 2,000,000 Vietnamese-Americans we're proud of today!!

The Taliban’s seizure of Afghanistan — emboldened by President Joe Biden’s senseless decision to rush U.S troops out of the country without a plan — blindsided the Afghan government, the Afghan military, and America’s allies. This reckless decision has led to bipartisan criticism in the United States and from our global allies, and ridicule by America’s adversaries. Biden’s attempts to blame everyone but himself for this fiasco, his refusal to take press questions for nearly a week (except from sycophantic George Stephanopoulos), and his decision to hide at Camp David while these events unfolded have only intensified criticism. As commander-in-chief, Biden is at fault for this disaster. But his senior security

Fox News contributor Marc Thiessen told "America's Newsroom" that Biden has given radical Islamic terrorists, including Al-Qaeda, the tools they need to conduct attacks potentially deadlier than 9/11. MARC THIESSEN: If Al Qaeda reconstitutes itself in Afghanistan and starts carrying out attacks on the West—there’s gonna be a backlash alright and the politics are going to be very bad for Joe Biden… When we talk about ending endless wars—radical Islam hasn’t ended its war against us. People take for granted the fact that we haven’t been hit since 9/11 like the terrorists lost interest or something. No, it’s because we’ve had our boot on their necks all over the world…

The Biden administration has moved to quickly process migrants streaming across the southern border but has not been able to speed up the processing times for Afghan interpreters and other allies who assisted in America's 20-year war effort. The White House announced last month that it will speed up asylum claim processing for migrants at the southern border, claiming in a release that they are seeking to "fair, orderly and humane" immigration system after the Trump administration policies "unjustly prevent individuals from obtaining asylum."

Oh, for the days when trolls were mythological creatures, living in Nordic caves. Today, they live online, poking us with bitter invective instead of intelligent arguments. That’s what some of President Biden’s defenders are doing, now that he is struggling. With only a weak defense to offer, most are in hiding. The few who venture out in public have turned to a last resort: trolling anyone who dares to criticize the president. Their favorite taunt is “Do you want the president to fail?” The point here, apparently, is to try and inoculate Biden against any criticism by suggesting that to question his actions is tantamount to wanting

President Biden promised that the United States would welcome Afghan allies escaping the Taliban into the U.S., but only after they have been "screened and cleared" at military bases and transit centers. Biden said that the U.S. has set up processing stations in third countries, "working with more than two dozen countries across four continents." When planes take off from Kabul, they go to U.S. military bases and these processing stations," he said in a press briefing on Sunday. "Once screened and cleared, we will welcome these Afghans… to their new home in the United States of America," Biden pledged. The president also said the Taliban has to

Last year, during the presidential campaign, Joe Biden promised the American people his administration would be characterized by order, discipline, experience, and, above all, competence. That has turned out to be spectacularly and obviously wrong. As we watch the spiraling disaster that is the withdrawal – which, unlike its antecedent collapse in Saigon, is likely to get worse, not better in the coming weeks — fundamental questions arise about the competence of the Biden administration and what the answers might mean for the remainder of its agenda.

The American-nurtured Afghan military of the last 20 years that had suffered thousands of prior casualties evaporated in a few hours in the encirclement of Kabul. Enlistees apparently calculated that their own meager chances with the premodern Taliban were still better than fighting as a dependency of the postmodern United States — despite its powerful diversity training programs. Forces more powerful than the Taliban, in places far more strategic, will now leverage an ideologically driven but predictably incompetent administration, a woke Pentagon and politically weaponized intelligence communities.

"Get out of Afghanistan!" This has been a demand by Germany's Left party for 20 years — since 2001, when Germany's military mission within the framework of the NATO-led ISAF operation began. Was this just an easy and cheap demand to make because the opposition party never had to assume the responsibilities of government, and with them the responsibility for combat missions of the German armed forces, the Bundeswehr? The answer is: yes and no. Yes, because fighting the Taliban and their terrorism was — at least at the beginning of the millennium — linked to a justified hope for progress and democracy benefiting the people in Afghanistan. And no, because

For nearly 20 years, American men and women have gone to Afghanistan and performed heroically. But they were asked by our leaders to do an impossible task: to turn a mountain backwater into a thriving democracy. We lost our best and brightest in those mountains—men and women who would have started families, built businesses, and sustained communities. My heart breaks that these dead may have died in vain. But they won’t if we learn the long-term lesson of Afghanistan: the people who lead this country aren’t fit for the task.

Fifty-one percent of the respondents said Biden is not competent in his position as president. This is compared to only 49 percent who said he is. Additionally, the poll found that 52 percent of the respondents did not feel the president has been focused. The poll was taken during and after the fall of the now-Taliban-controlled Kabul, Afghanistan, when Biden botched the U.S. troops’ withdrawal from the country. With that, 53 percent of the respondents said they disagree with the way Biden withdrew the troops.

The U.S. Capitol Police officer who fatally shot Ashli Babbitt on Jan. 6 during the insurrection was cleared Monday after an internal review concluded the action may have spared the lives of lawmakers and staffers who had barricaded themselves inside the building. "The officer’s actions were consistent with the officer’s training and (U.S. Capitol Police) policies," the agency's inquiry found. The agency declined to identify the officer. Federal prosecutors decided in April not to pursue criminal charges in the case. Some who supported the Capitol siege by rioters angry about the outcome of the presidential election cast Babbitt as a martyr to the conservative cause.
