US Supreme Court Intervenes in ‘Remain
in Mexico’ Case, Blocking Program’s Revival

Original Article

The United States Supreme Court on Friday blocked the reinstatement of the “Remain in Mexico” program, intervening just hours before President Joe Biden’s administration would have had to restart the policy. Justice Samuel Alito, a George W. Bush nominee, in a one-page order stayed a ruling that was poised to go into effect on Saturday. That ruling would have forced the Biden administration to restart the Trump era program, formally known as the Migrant Policy Protocols (MPP). (snip) Alito issued the order after the U.S. government filed an emergency motion with the nation’s top court. He said he was blocking the lower court ruling so that the full

I don't think a few days to review this is cause for us to raise hell yet. I think they are temporarily staying until next week to review the particulars of the case. I wouldn't be surprised if they screw us on this ultimately, but for now the stay seems pretty standard for something like this.

Alito's ruling will set the stage for a complete attack on Bidens regime of corruption. If the whole court opines and we win, it will shut down the treason.....IF we have any republicans left that love America. I believe Alito understands this.

No surprise here. The Supreme Joke of the United States loves to wipe its behind with the Constitution and save Democrats illegal policies to allow as many illegal aliens into the country as possible. The Supreme Woke of the United States is so predictable. If it hurts the US or protects a Democrat, that is how they will rule. Justice of us, Just-Us for them. Those who take the trouble to read the article will find a link to Justice Alito’s stay, in pdf: JOSEPH R. BIDEN, JR., PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, ET AL., Applicants v. TEXAS, ET AL. O R D E R UPON CONSIDERATION of the application of counsel for the applicants, IT IS ORDERED that the injunction issued by the District Court is stayed until 11:59 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, August 24 so that the full Court can consider the application. What's there to review? It was put in place years ago, and it worked. Plus it upheld federal law against illegal entry into the U.S. It was already put in place. If the Supreme Court had a problem with it, why didn't they stop Trump from setting it in motion?

The Article is very poorly written whereby it's difficult to understand what who's doing what to whom. Odds are that the SC is going to sustain the decision of the Distict Court and the 5th Circuit and thereby require the Biden Administrayion to reinstate President Trump's "Stay in Mexico" policy. The dispositive issue in this case appears to be whether the Biden Administration has changed Trump's policy in violation of the federal "Administrate Procedure Act" by failing the mandatory process. Both the Circuit Court and the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals decided the Biden Administration violated that Act.

This is a positive move. It means the entire Supreme Court will consider the matter, and may order the Biden administration to reinstate the Trump program. Alito is Constitutionalist who has a spine and is trying to get the Court to stand up for the Constitution, or force the Congress to enact meaningful immigration reform. It remains to be seen whether Roberts will try to sidestep the decision-making, and merely deny certiorari, thereby affirming the anti-Biden rulings of the two lower courts, a weak approach for achieving the same end. Roberts seems perpetually intimidated, cowering for fear that the dems might expose his behavior--whatever it was--for which the Obama first began blackmailing him. No one seems to know whether the blackmail is over Roberts' illegally adopting his children or over an Epstein trip to Pedo Island for which the flight manifest once logged a passenger named "John Roberts".

If they rule for Biden the entire world could show up at the US borderline, claim asylum, and would have to be allowed to stay in the USA until their individual asylum case is disposed of some years in the future. I would wait until the court issues a written decision in a few days.

Doubtless you have read or heard comments like those of the TV journalist Jen Griffen about Joe Biden’s brief remarks on Friday regarding Afghanistan. “I’m having a hard time digesting what we heard,” she said, “because I couldn’t fact-check it fast enough in real-time because there were so many misrepresentations of what is happening on the ground.” Bottom line: “This was just an alternate reality that was presented to us from the White House.” I presume what she had in mind were statements by Biden like this: “We know of no instance where the Taliban are not letting our citizens through the checkpoints freely.”

Joe Biden has badly, visibly bungled America’s withdrawal from Afghanistan. He has compounded the problem with his sluggish and dishonest public statements. This has gone so badly that even people and institutions that are normally sympathetic to Biden and his party have noticed. American allies have been appalled, and vocal about it. What is slowly dawning on people is that Biden’s critics were right about him all along. Not since James Buchanan has America had a president who came so prepared by experience for the job, yet had so little clue how to do it. Democrats and Republicans are right to blame each other for the fall of Kabul. It’s a loss for America’s bipartisan foreign policy establishment as a whole. For nearly two decades Washington sent thousands of Americans to their deaths and spent trillions of taxpayer dollars to wage a strategically pointless war. And because both sides of the political divide should be held accountable, military as well as civilian officials, too, it is unlikely that anyone ever will be. Since everyone is to blame, holding anyone accountable implicates everyone.

The Taliban face a frontal challenge in cementing control of Afghanistan: Money. Despite their dominant military blitz over the past week, the Taliban lack access to billions of dollars from their central bank and the International Monetary Fund that would keep the country running during a turbulent shakeup. Minutes after President Biden on Friday said the mission to destroy Al Qaeda in Afghanistan was a success and that he knew of no circumstances where Americans had been unable to reach Kabul airport, he was flatly contradicted by the Pentagon. Al Qaeda remains present in Afghanistan, said Department of Defense spokesman John Kirby during a briefing, and yes, he was aware of reports of Americans being beaten by the Taliban as they tried to reach safety.
