WASHINGTON - President Joe Biden is brushing off criticism of his administration's chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal because he and his aides believe the political fallout at home will be limited, according to White House allies and administration officials. Biden and his top aides argue they are managing an evacuation mission as well as could be expected given the faster-than-anticipated takeover of the country by Taliban insurgents, and are seeking to draw attention back to the choice to get U.S. troops out of the country. (Snip) They expect the Afghanistan story to recede from the headlines, replaced by the resurgence in COVID-19 cases
Remaining stupid is what a lot of Americans do best! Thanks Diaper Joe! Thanks media! Thanks Military-Industrial Complex! Thanks D-RATs!!! Thanks China!

Biden you cheater, it won't work, pal. The Afghanistan debacle, southern border debacle, the Great Election Fraud of 2020, and the covid debacle all have your name on it.

We shall see how all this pans out, of course, but Sleepy Creepy Joe Biden may not have COVID to fall back on (unless the powers that be manufacture yet another, deadlier variant than Delta). According to one headline I saw, the number of COVID cases in Florida (you know, that state with the murderous Republican in its governor's mansion -- whatevah!) is declining.
Declining cases of COVID are NOT good news for an administration that seeks a diversion from its complete and utter failure in handling the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan.
I say this: Millstone in search of neck to hang round, meet Joe Biden and his neck.

This we can not forget. In fact, we will throw gas on that fire during every election. I heard Ms. Linsey say that this may warrant impeachment.

We may be war weary, but we never got weary of supporting our troops. Maybe those cosplayers running our government are easily distracted but not those of us who've lived a bit. I'm ashamed of how this administration has treated them, our civilian staff and Afghan partners. And then to leave the Taliban mountains of war weapons is just the most foolish thing I've seen from a very foolish administration. God have mercy on us, Biden and his team certainly won't.

Would the American people have forgotten or forgiven if they knew at the time that, say, FDR had advance knowledge of the attack on Pearl Harbor and did nothing, or if Bush/Cheney likewise knew about 9/11 (hmmmmmmmm)? We're not going to forget anything you and Hairball did, Joey, and we're not going to forget in 2022, either.

Consider this Benghazi.2 to an enormous scale .The shutting down of the safer Bagram Base , still stockpiling NEW weapons , etc, removing rescue agency beforehand , taking protective troops away before civies ? , leaving behind incredible intell ? etc
Read Laura Logan’s article , This IS what our gov’t wants … and the flurry of other news to keep us agitated and voiceless with fast moving anti-American communist mandates

Actually, I think most Americans had almost forgotten about Afganistan. We haven't had any American casualties in a year and a half. This, though, has brought it back to the foreground in many people's minds.

Covid cases are down all over the ER and ICU are peaking right now but new cases are down. If we wee the tali-wackers murdering people in the streets or American being held hostage this won't go away any time soon. Another miscalculation from the cheating Admin that has nothing but miscalculations.

I wouldn't bet against the political wager placed by the administration's cynical calculators. They know that the public attention span is very short, and that most people had forgotten about Afghanistan until this week. The facts on the ground, the abandonment of Bagram, all of it will be quickly forgotten. By next year at this time "We got our country out of Afghanistan!" will be a Democrat campaign talking point for 2022 and it will poll well. Sorry for the pessimism, but I want to look at this as realistically as I can.

After only 7 months we are not war weary, we're Biden weary. Trouble is 17 months to go at best.

I doubt joe Biden will live to see the 2022 elections and I expect this country to be in a state of chaos for quite a while. If they’re pinning their hopes on a forgetful nation, they’re going to have to start being more competent and let things settle down. Won’t happen though, they aren’t capable of being competent at anything.

Since about 60% of American families did not pay any incomes taxes in 2020, to maintain at least his reported 44% popularity with the American people Biden, and his leftist and socialist Democrat cohorts can raise up taxes on the Americans who actually do pay taxes, along with raising up all sorts of welfare benefits thus handing out “free money”, and be pretty sure of even being re-elected since the Democrats control the vote counters.

Why do you think we're getting such a full-court panic press on the much less serious Delta variant?

Putting the Diems' top thinkers' strategy more candidly and cogently, they hope the hysteria they're promoting over Covid will make the American people forget everything they know.

It's a cold, cruel political calculation. Biden expects the everyone to pivot like a Pavlovian dog to some other news story which the media will focus on. Will not work if Afghanistan blows up and the world is suddenly in flames.
