Former US women's goalkeeper Hope Solo has launched a withering attack on star player Megan Rapinoe, claiming she's seen the activist 'almost bully' teammates into taking the knee. Rapinoe has been vocal on a range of political issues, with some critics—including former President Donald Trump—blaming Team USA's poor Olympic performance on her activism. Solo, speaking on Goal's women's soccer podcast, was asked what she thought of claims that Rapinoe's behavior—including kneeling to protest racial injustice—had led to the favorite team to win an Olympic gold at Tokyo 2020 only taking home a bronze medal. She answered: 'It's tough.

Comments:

Being affiliated with Nasty Rapinoe has cost Subway franchisees a lot of business. Be a real shame if this divisive hater lost other marketing deals.

During the Olympics I stumbled upon an article listing all of the "out" Olympians. Scanning the list, it became apparent that many of the lesbians listed were the primary instigators of all the insipid kneeling. It made me wonder why lesbians are so filled with anger, bitterness, and hatred.

My wife was incredulous when an old friend commented during a discussion of the Olympics. My wife said that we didn't watch the women's soccer because we aren't really interested in soccer and we were put off by that rude player kneeling for the national anthem. The friend commented that "I thought that meant showing extra respect for the flag." My wife could barely contain her reaction. Not sure if she was baiting my wife, but she can be a real airhead. We've been friends since college and she varies between being a real airhead and showing intelligence. She has a PhD in one of the biosciences.

She is a huge bully, so I seriously doubt the word "almost" fits in that headline at all!!! Like the OP, I used to eat lunch at Subway 2-3 times a week. But never again. I do not "boycott", since that indicates a temporary stoppage to something. Once you loose me -- which takes some pure evil to drive me away -- I am gone forever. I haven't had a Subway sub in several months, and don't have any plans to go back!!!

#6, deep down they hate who they are - it’s one of the reasons they have to hold all those “pride” events - to try to convince themselves that they aren’t mentally ill freaks. Their anger, bitterness and hatred is also what causes them to lose. Attitude is everything and if you go into a match filled with all of that garbage, it affects your ability to compete because your focus is elsewhere. We first saw it when those black football players started kneeling. They also started losing.

President Biden said Wednesday he is requiring nursing homes to mandate COVID-19 vaccines for their workers as a condition of federal funding and scolded GOP governors who’ve overruled schools that want to impose mask mandates. Speaking from the White House, Mr. Biden said he instructed the Department of Health and Human Services to write regulations that tether reimbursement under the Medicaid and Medicare programs to required vaccinations for workers. He also told the Education Department to examine whether legal remedies are needed to let schools impose the COVID-19 rules they want to in states that have intervened. The nursing home policy will affect about 1.3 million people

A Brazilian Bishop has resigned days after a video of him allegedly masturbating on a video call went viral. The Vatican announced that Pope Francis accepted the resignation of Bishop Tomé Ferreira da Silva, 60, of Sao Jose de Rio Preto, who confirmed to a local newspaper Diario da Regiao that it was, in fact, him in the video, but provided no additional comment. The bishop has been subject to other Vatican investigations—including covering up reports of sexual abuse—and many in his diocese have petitioned for his removal since 2014. In 2015, the Vatican launched an investigation into alleged embezzlement and having a romantic relationship with his driver.

A federal religious liberty panel said Wednesday that North Korea‘s government “poses an acute challenge” to religious practice in the country, with an organized and intensifying campaign of harassment against an expanding array of faiths. “Violations of this right in North Korea are ongoing, egregious, and systematic, and they are perpetrated and overseen by the active mobilization of organs” of that government, the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) said in the new report, which noted that pandemic-related border shutdowns have only increased the isolation of North Korea‘s still-surviving religious communities. While Christianity has long been the target of North Korean repression over the past 70 years,

The Taliban, who are desperately trying to present a moderate face after sweeping into power in Afghanistan, have blown up the statue of a Shiite militia leader who had fought against them during the civil war in the 1990s. When the Islamic militants seized power from rival warlords in 1996, they killed the militia leader, Abdul Ali Mazari—a champion of the country’s ethnic Hazara minority, Shiites who were persecuted under the Sunni Taliban’s earlier rule. The statue stood in the central Bamyan province, where the Taliban infamously blew up two huge 1,500-year-old statues of Buddha carved into a mountain in 2001, claiming they violated Islam’s prohibition on idolatry.
