The Federal Aviation Administration is urging airports to monitor sales of alcohol in terminal bars and wants to ban 'to-go' drinks to try and curb the surge in unruly passengers on flights. The FAA has initiated a crackdown with airlines encountering a rising number of violent and disruptive passengers as more Americans start flying again. FAA Administrator Steve Dickson said: 'Our investigations show that alcohol often contributes to this unsafe behavior.' He asked airports to 'work with their concessionaires to help avoid this.'(Snip) On Saturday, a drunk Frontier Airlines passenger accused of groping two flight attendants and punching a third

The FEDERAL government is passing Bar Rules ?
I hate to think that US citizens are coming to believe that these DC denizons actually control their lives.

One rule that actually makes sense to me. Reduces the need to use the restroom when you are stranded on the tarmac too.

The problem may not be too much alcohol.....but too little.
We will all be safe so long as we continue to remove our shoes and belts.

My priority would be making sure people wash their hands after using the restroom.

It's not the alcohol, it's the passengers... The last cruise I was on, there were several in the lockup overnight. Ferals fighting on the mid deck...

Nexxt will be mandatory 90 meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous in 90 days with an attendance card signed off before boarding. The federal government needs to go to Alanon

I've flown recently - they let you know it's against federal regulations to bring alcohol on board the plane. I think the problem is not enough oxygen getting to the brain because of the masks. They don't serve alcohol in coach so how can they say too much alcohol - maybe not enough to numb the brain thoroughly in the cattle cars? Biden is a complete disaster. I really try not to fly much because one has to have to mask on while in the airport, both ends, and while flying. Thats a lot of oxygen deprived hours.

Have had no need to fly, after flying all over the country and the world for years. No more turkeys putting their seatbacks so far back that I can count the cooties on their scalps; no more rotten little kids (due to rotten parents) kicking and kicking on the back of my seat; no more parents abusing babies who are screaming because of pressure in their ears (the last ones I saw ended up with baby vomit all over them as the cabin full of passengers cheered for their baby!)…. Some flights in first class showed that it could be different, although that is where the wealthy drunks migrate and tank up…
And I’d rather have my hair pulled out than go on any cruise...

#8, you can get a drink in coach, but you have to pay for it. Correct would be to say, you can't get FREE alcohol in coach.

I am with number 9. We may take one more flight to Ireland to visit some friends but I have had my fill of overseas travel. Numerous golf trips to Ireland and Scotland and a nice river cruise are what I have for memories and all I need at my age.
And I agree completely about cruising although I make an exception for Viking river cruises.

Biden wants. Biden orders, Biden issues. Biden,Biden,Biden. But he won't shut the border, something explicit in the Constitution.

The government spends a bazillion dollars, mostly on itself.
But you have no doubt noticed that it conscripts business owners and employees to do its dirty work - FOR FREE - by threatening them. Business owners are not responsible to act as vaccine inspectors, alcohol counselors, babysitters, travel concierges or spies.

Another problem I've seen mentioned is nervous passengers who take prescription drugs such as Ambien, which alone or when mixed with alcohol can produce what stewardesses (yes, I said it) call "Ambien zombies," who take their clothes off and wander around, become combative, any number of things and later have no recollection of doing so. One of the fabulous Kennedies was said to be on that late one night when when he crashed into some capitol police cars, thinking congress was in session. Of course, Big Pharma has a lot more pull than Big Booze, so these drugs remain freely available.

Banning alcohol won't make a damn bit of difference if your flight gets cancelled over and over again, and or once on the plane, you sit on the runway for hours, then taxi back to the gate to wait another four hours.

It’s not an alcohol problem, just like it’s not a gun problem. It’s a cultural problem, and I think you know exactly what or who I mean.

Trust me, Shuffles, despite the one or two crazies, passengers are not enraged because of alcohol. They are fed up with the way the airlines treats them like cattle.

Policing so they can stop me from drinking on an airplane? This might be the first time I actually support the idea of "Defund the Police."

Is there anything the left can't "fix" (while at the same time destroy anything they touch)?

There is much more the the problem. Passengers are crowed in like cattle in economy, treated like animals, and forced to wear masks. No wonder they act like animals. The airlines are in a downward spiral. I flew recently but hopefully never again. I used to fly quite often. Flying has gotten much worse. It was a lot better even when smoking was allowed but back they didn't treat you like dirt. I don't smoke, never did.

There is a way to cut down drastically the number of disruptive passengers but expressing it will get me banned.
