Massachusetts health officials on Thursday reported more than 1,000 daily coronavirus cases, the first time the state has hit four figures for COVID cases in three months as the delta variant takes over. After state health officials on Thursday reported 1,046 new cases, the seven-day average of daily cases is now 660, which is more than 10 times the 64 daily cases in late June. The last time the state reported more than 1,000 infections in one day was on May 6. Does anyone have a record of the where the people are sent who cross the border illegally? It's hard to believe that biden still has an open border policy with covid spreading. It's a no brainer why it's spreading. I'll take covid as seriously as biden does - we all know that he doesn't take it seriously but loves fauci to spread hysteria all over the place. They are truly disgusting people and belong in jail for the damage they have done to America. The press deserves to be ignored and ridiculed for it's lapdog attitude.

How many of those cases were just from Covid tests, and not from people who were actually sick? Just because one tests positive for Covid doesn't mean one has Covid.

The population of Massachusetts is a little over 7,000,000,000 (7 million). The number of new cases per day is .00000014285 of the population. Of that % of cases, what % is actually really sick? You can have the virus and not be sick. What % is hospitalized. Another poster said that there were only 2 deaths. So the death % (2 out of 7 million) is .00000000028. When you look at real numbers, the hysteria that is being reported is really being overblown. What is the % of daily infections from the normal flu or colds during cold & flu season? What is the hospitalization rate for the normal flu during a normal flu season? I will start to worry when they compare this to something that I might actually compare to in a normal year like the normal flu.

Headline: "I Was Part of the July Fourth Provincetown “Breakthrough” COVID Cluster. It’s Been a Sobering Experience.” Last Thursday, an internal slide presentation leaked from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention revealed that the delta variant of the coronavirus is even more contagious than previously thought—more communicable than Ebola and the common cold, as spreadable as the chickenpox. While vaccines appear to remain strong against the virus, new evidence suggests that fully vaccinated people with so-called breakthrough infections may be every bit as infectious as those yet to receive their shots, even if their own cases remain relatively mild. According to a report the agency released on Friday, the CDC’s latest findings were based on a July 4 COVID-19 outbreak in queer mecca Provincetown, Massachusetts, where among a cluster of 469 (with no deaths) at the time of study, an astonishing three-quarters of the infected had been fully vaccinated. As of July 31, the P-Town outbreak had ballooned to 965 cases. https://slate.com/human-interest/2021/08/provincetown-delta-variant-cluster-diary.html How could Sobey and the Boston Herald publish the posted article with a straight face?

MADISON, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin removed a large boulder from its Madison campus on Friday at the request of minority students who view the rock as a symbol of racism. Chamberlin Rock, on the top of Observatory Hill, is named after Thomas Crowder Chamberlin, a geologist and former university president. Lawmakers, economists and advocates are working to extend a handful of key federal aid programs established at the beginning of the pandemic, many of which are scheduled to end just as the delta variant has caused Covid caseloads to rise across the U.S. yet again. Already this week, following pressure from House Democrats, the CDC extended the federal eviction moratorium through October 3 after it lapsed over the weekend. Now, other Congressional Democrats are calling on the White House to extend the pause on federal student loan payments scheduled to expire at the end of September, the Washington Post reports.
