Attorneys representing students of Minnesota's Lakeville School District have told Newsweek they intend to file a lawsuit against the district on Friday for violating their clients' First Amendment free speech rights. Doug Seaton, Upper Midwest Law Center president said his clients were discriminated against after being prohibited from displaying "All Lives Matter" signs on school property while "Black Lives Matter" posters were allowed. The UMCL is a non-profit public interest law firm whose website describes its mission as one that initiates pro-freedom litigation to protect against constitutional violations, government's overreach, special interest agendas and public union corruption and abuses.

Schools have the 'right' to ban speech on school property but they don't have the right to disciminate against one political opinion while forbidding another. I'd advise the settle now before it gets too expensive.

The first amendment only applies to the federal government limiting speech. The last I checked, a local school district in Minnesota is not the federal government. So this suite should be tossed out as soon as it hits the judge's desk. However, if some lie-beral court decides to side against the school board, then they can't say a word when the "White Lives Matter", "Christian Lives Matter", and pretty much anything else that will drive lie-berals crazy are put up at that school!!!!

#6, a local school board still isn't the state. Like I said, I hope the conservatives in that district open up a massive can of worms if the BLM lovers do succeed.

this one's a no-brainer, but wait!! the Sharia law in Minnesota allows for this somehow, I'm sure. - "let the courts decide" is getting to be a very worrisome comment, these days.

I'm afraid that one day Michael Connelly's character Harry Bosch will no longer be able to go by his code, "everybody counts or nobody counts". It will be considered hate speech.

Not correct, #3. The First Amendment was incorporated via the due process clause of the Fourteenth Amedment, a long time ago, and applies to all levels of government. The school is in clear violation of the First Amendment, has not a bit of any sort of a legal fig leaf to hide behind.

It’s believed to be fallout from the pandemic-related economic downturn that has caused workplace cutbacks and joblessness. This is a separate type of crime from highly-publicized organized retail theft rings. More people are resorting to shoplifting as a way to make ends meet. That’s no excuse; just a sad reality.
