The American Medical Association (AMA), the largest organization of physicians and medical students in the United States, came under fire over the weekend for a recent proposal calling to end the designation of sex on birth certificates.
The proposal (pdf), which was adopted by the AMA’s Board of Trustees in June, states that recording the baby’s sex on the public portion of birth certificates, as has always been the case, has “potential for discrimination.”
“Our American Medical Association will advocate for the removal of sex as a legal designation on the public portion of the birth certificate,”

FTA:
“Assigning sex using a binary variable and placing it on the public portion of the birth certificate perpetuates a view that it is immutable and fails to recognize the medical spectrum of gender identity,” the AMA’s LGBTQ Advisory Committee argued. “Imposing such a categorization system risks stifling self-expression and self-identification and contributes to marginalization and minoritization.”
Corruption of “the science”. WTH is on the AMA’s LGBTQ Advisory Committee and who gave them this power?

No one is, or ever has been, "assigned" a sex at birth. Rather, everyone is "observed to be" a particular sex at birth.

Fact: EVERY cell in the human body contains either an X+X or an X+Y pair of chromosomes. The presence of either combination of chromosomes defines what sex the person is. Individuals WISHING they had the other combination (or something else) does not can cannot alter their natural-born physical composition.

Denial of reality is a continuing malady with liberals. They are ever ready with “explanations” for why things are not as they are and how things as they exist are a threat - “Stifling self-expression and imposing categorization.” Such denial is a sickness in itself.

I am and my wife are Tropical Fish Breeders. We know that certain fish cannot be "sexed" sometimes for months after their hatch. We also know that homo sapiens are readily identified BEFORE their birth. What's to certify ??

Based on the logic employed by the AMA, anything on the birth certificate lead to bias, discrimination, marginalization and violence. Why put any biological identification on a birth certificate? Better yet, why have a birth certificate? Why not put we are nothing but unorganized, grabasstic pieces of amphibian waste?

Calling out someone's race "contributes to marginalization and minoritization" and costs the taxpayers a ton of subsidization.

Suppose that the parents demand that the appropriate sex, as shown by the baby’s genitals, be entered on the birth certificate? Do they have any say in this, “doctors”?
BTW, I’m sitting here watching my 2 week old granddaughter sleep in her gender-specific pink floral onesie. Choke on that, “doctors”.

Congratulations!! It’s an it!!!
I guess it’s antiscience to choose a name that’s associated with male or female. So “Pat” would be ok, but not Patricia or Patrick.
Moon Unit would be good. Pink and blue are out.
Let’s upend society to accommodate freedom of expression fetishes implanted in children by people seeking to do society harm.

". . . placing it on the public portion of the birth certificate . . . " Do birth certificates have a portion that is not public?
Birth Certificates are often used to verify the sex of the baby, sometimes admitted into evidence.
Imagine the ways birth certificates can be manipulated if the sex of the baby is not indicated.
In the past it was rare that the sex of the baby could not at least be assumed by the baby's name, but these days the sex of the baby cannot be assumed from the baby's name, including because the mother could not spell it correctly.

The Date Of Birth will also be removed - - to prevent potential "ageism."
Also removed will be the names of the parents - - to eliminate sexual stereotypes and allow for gender fluidity. And - - of course - - the name of the deliverer and the place of birth won't be shown either - - to guard against citizenship supremacy.
Other than that - - everything else will be the same.

I won't trust a physician who denies reality. If I walk into an ER and present with a high fever, diaphoresis, and I'm doubled over with pain, I expect to be taken seriously. A "woke" physician might send me home claiming there's nothing wrong with me.

You would think the doctors of the AMA would know the difference between sex and "gender identity." Sex refers to a person's chromosomal makeup. "Gender Identity" suggests mental confusion on the part of an individual who refuses to accept his/her sex.
How dumb are the sheeple in charge of setting official AMA policy?

Activists serving as an "advisory board"? You've GOT to be kidding...
As to the content of their rationale, people face potential discrimination for their weight, eye color, and height, too; even name, for that matter... Why not leave all that info out, too? Why even have a birth certificate at all? Good grief. (asking rhetorically, of course)
One by one, the elements of western civilization are being dismantled and discarded. It's way past time to stop this idiocy.

Enough, already, with this "assigned gender" crapola!!! It's simple AND scientific: if the baby has an "innie," it's a girl. If an "outie," it's a boy!! What's so difficult about that???!!!

The latest in a series of off-the-rails nonsense spouted by this goofy progressive organization. As so very few good and dedicated physicians have no association with the AMA, its past time for those thousands to speak up very publicly to denounce these fools.

Identifying genetic sex is important. If I go to the ER with abdominal pains it is important to know whether I am male or female. The treatment, tests, and issues checked may be a lot different due to different body parts and possible problems. You can deny that genetic/biological sex is not real all you want (if you are a radical LGBTQ activist) but thousands of years of science says that it is. The no sex identity crowd is getting ridiculous. If you can't identify a sex or guide a child, we will have a bunch of confused asexual kids who are over the top sexually when they finally get to decide for themselves, if they ever decide one way or the other.

My mother's GP was head of AMA when Obamacare was being heavily pushed by the AMA. He was so so busy!! He failed to note her AFIB, she had a massive stroke, he never once called to inquire or be of service, which we REALLY NEEDED in the subsequent very tough decision making. A Fauci kind of doc. The organization is a leftist tool joke.

If there is no male or female at birth, then how can we have employment laws that protect women from workplace discrimination? Every "male" could just claim to be female and then an entire firm could market itself as a women-owned business and receive Affirmative Action treatment. It's like we've fallen through the looking glass.

The difference between the American Revolution and the situation today is that the rebels were not beholding to CEO's. They already had true independence and a voice. If members of the AMA are terrified of losing their positions then they will follow orders from the government. They are not patriots or even honourable men and women. Pray, they get together and stand.
