Austin—A video captured on an American Airlines flight from New Orleans to Austin shows a fist fight that broke out between passengers on Sunday.
A passenger on the flight sent KXAN video of what happened, and said two were arrested shortly after the incident. Austin Police has not confirmed that, but KXAN will update this story when we hear back.(Snip)The passenger went on to say the incident began “over a seat that couldn’t unrecline.”
An airport spokeswoman deferred to Austin Police and American Airlines.
The Federal Aviation Administration reported an increase in incidents when passengers have disrupted flights due to violent behavior at the start

Maybe there are increases in "disruptive" incidents because the conditions under which they fly have become more and more intolerable. Cant smoke. Packed in with ugly smelly people. Have to wear a stupid mask. Get searched like a criminal before getting on the plane. Charges after charges after charges. Getting bumped off flights. And if you have anything to say about it they arrest you when the plane lands.
No thanks. I drive.

Once upon a more primitive time, before we were "woke", (simply because we used correct grammar) airline passengers dressed in attire fitting a technologically advanced species capable of powered flight, and behaved accordingly. It is possible that the apex of societies' progress is behind us. Someday these knuckle draggers may discover tools and start beating each other with clubs, then the whole cycle can start over again.

Oh the joys of flying the friendly skies! The airline industry is going down the tubes fast, but thank goodness they are woke.

Flying was once civilized. People would actually wear nice clothes, bathe, and be civilized. This is today compliments of Obama/Maxine Waters culture.

In the near future, once American Airlines sufficiently transforms its workforce to be maximally Diverse, the flight crew will join in the beat-down. Imagine the nerve of that cracker, asking that African Prince to raise his seat.

Biden should have something to say about this incident shortly. This should be a federal matter as they both obviously were not following the instructions of the flight crew when they got up and started fighting. At least they both should be placed on the permanent no fly list as they easily could have injured other passengers.

Following on #7's comment - the passenger in the striped red and white shirt is losing his pants too. Neanderthals probably behaved better :-)

For now, I travel exclusively First Class (domestic) and Business Class (overseas). I'm sure it is a matter of time before the violence spills into both.

Most critical mistake in the history of Western Civilization: bringing africans 'r 'boons among us. As a group, they are genetically incapable of civilized behavior. Period. Full stop.

It's actually against federal regulations for a passenger's seat to be reclined during takeoff and landing. A seat that cannot be returned to the upright position, as indicated by the article, is a definite safety hazard to the passengers seated in the seat and seated in the row behind it, as the seatbelt wouldn't properly restrain a passenger seated in the broken seat, and more importantly, it would impede the egress of passengers sitting in the row behind the broken seat during an emergency evacuation of the aircraft. A flight attendant should have noticed the seat in its reclined position prior to the landing and attempted to return it to the upright position. Failing that, the flight attendant should have moved the passenger in the broken seat and the passengers in the row behind the broken seat to any available seats on the aircraft. Once in Austin, if the seat could not be quickly repaired, then the aircraft would have to be taken out of service until it could be repaired.

What is it with American Airlines?! What is it with this airline specifically?! These inflight-mayhem stories involving AA seem to appear often, more so than on other airlines.

Racial tensions created by agents whose job it is unravel social cohesion and probably an array of antidepressants and other profitable drugs means the rest of us fly the unfriendly skies, or stay home. FAA notes more in-flight violence since the start of 2021; that just means the Biden agenda is working as designed. Bonus points to the brawler whose pants are falling down despite wearing a belt; peak america right there.
