Why Nancy Pelosi's days as Speaker of the
House are numbered

Original Article

Nancy Pelosi used to point her angry finger at Donald Trump, but she leaves him in the dust when it comes to busting norms, dividing Congress and causing mayhem. If anyone is to blame for the hyper-partisanship in Washington these days, it’s the spiteful House speaker. She behaves more like a Mafia don waging a gang war than a dignified, fair and honest presiding officer, which is what the speaker’s role requires. Pelosi abuses her power in ways that once were unthinkable. Her speakership has been the antithesis of Lincoln’s entreaty to "the better angels of our nature."

The presumption is that she does not have brain dead Liberals in her constituency (and in all others as well) who will not voter for a Democrat just because he is not a Republican. I find that so many of my Liberal friends either only watch the Nets etc. so Arte clueless (ditto read the Times etc.) so they are clueless OR they willfully suspend belief. (These are also the people who think Liz Cheney constitutes Republican input.)

More wishful thinking. We also hear this crapola every two years when Nanzi is going to lose the Speakership, but then gets voted back in. I see no evidence that this old bat is losing her grip on power. And if she is, losing it to whom exactly? AOC and other members of the Squat? The spineless Republicans like McCarthy?

the one thing about the demcommies: when they get the power, they never lose the power and nasty nancy is the most illustrious example of that axiom. if the repubs think just because they might take the house and senate in 2022, they think they have quieted the demcommies and nasty nancy in particular, they had better go back to school and learn how to really kick the crap out of your opponent and take every last drop of blood they have. the demcommies are unified like no other political force in the history of our country and in contrast, the repubs are still in kindergarten when it comes to playing politics, dirty or not.

My guess is that if (and its a big IF) the Republicans take the House in 2022, she'll resign and be a regular on "The View," MSNBC, and CNN, as well as write her ur-readable "memiors." The problem I see why she's been with us so long is that Heaven doesn't want her, and the Devil is concerned she'd take over.

This reminds me of a time when Annie Liebowitz was looking for a place to live in NYC. She found a nice unit. The person who owned the unit had died, but was keeping the unit anyway. Once Nancy dies, she will be embalmed and a simulacrum will carry on. No one will ever notice. She may already be an avatar. Who knows?

The city of Denver spends at least twice as much on homelessness per person as it does on K-12 public school students – and the spending crushes the veterans affairs budget in the state, a new study released Thursday found, according to a report. For comparison, the city reportedly spends between $41,679 and $104,201 on each person experiencing homelessness in a year while only $19,202 on each K-12 public school student over the same period of time. The amount spent on each homeless person in the area is comparable to the average income of area residents.

Democrats who advanced a bill in June to remove statues of white supremacists from the U.S. Capitol ignored a central fact about those figures: All of them had been icons of their party, from Andrew Jackson’s adamantly pro-slavery vice president, John C. Calhoun, to North Carolina Gov. Charles B. Aycock, an architect of the white-supremacist campaign of 1898 that ushered in the era of Jim Crow. At a time when governments, sports teams, schools and other bastions of American society are rushing to expunge legacies of slavery or racism, this was another instance of the Democratic Party’s failure to acknowledge that it did more than any other institution

As the fight over election reform heats up in Congress, the White House is ramping up the rhetoric, declaring that President Biden and Vice President Harris are “incensed by the anti-voter laws that are trampling on our constitutional principles.” It is a mantra repeated on an array of liberal news sites, but the coverage tends to be selective in what constitutional principles are being abridged. "Our constitutional principles" include state power over elections. While the president decries an “unprecedented attack on democracy,” the federalization of elections being pursued by Democrats actually would contravene what the Framers considered a core protection of democracy.

Did you know that black people are not going to be allowed to vote in America anymore? At least in states controlled by Republicans? Sounds a bit unlikely, but that’s a conclusion you might have come to if you took seriously what President Joe Biden said in Philadelphia Tuesday. Biden decried Republicans’ proposed changes to election laws as “the 21st-century Jim Crow assault” that tries “to suppress and subvert the right to vote in fair and free elections, an assault on democracy.” This is, to be polite, unhinged nonsense. Biden is old enough to remember what real Jim Crow voter suppression was like. It meant

It’s cheap, easy, and lots of fun to highlight Joe Biden’s incoherence and creepiness. Heck, he displays it constantly. I put it to you, the readers, to make the call. On Thursday, Twitter wasn’t able to stop “Creepy Joe” from trending.
