Congressman Reveals What He Said and

C-Span is going to be running a series on the Capitol riot with interviews from 14 different members of Congress. They’re literally trying to stretch it out like it’s a TV series. I wonder if they have one for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and what she went through in her office a quarter of a mile away? The first clip that I’ve seen involves an interview with Rep. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK). He explains how he hugged the Capitol Police officer who shot Ashli Babbitt and told him that he “did what he had to.” From a legal and factual point of view, there are big problems with that statement

He panic's and murdered that woman. A big grown man so frightened of a tiny unarmed woman that he shot her.

What ever happened to using a taser. Could the manly black man simply have punched the unarmed female? This was murder plainly witnessed. The crowd was encouraged by capital police inviting them into the building. The FBI and BLM acted together to further makes this look like a riot…which it was not. We need the truth and Lt Byrd needs to stand trial and go to prison.

No matter what the Congressperson said, the unnamed Capitol LEO used deadly force when he was not and no one else was in imminent danger. If Derek Chauvin was a "murderer", so was the unnamed Capitol LEO. Ashli Babbitt should be alive today in solitary confinement in a DC jail, beaten and threatened by DC police just like the other arrested "insurrectionists".

The Rep. wasn't there and didn't know what was going on. His response was based on what he was told. So if he got his info from the Capitol police and media, then he got false information which lead to his response.

I trust that this Republican congressman from Oklahoma who is on the wrong side of this will be replaced next term. He is on the wrong side, the facts indicate this was manslaughter on the part of the officer. Shooting an unarmed lady is not what "you had to do".

In a city where everything is leaked, the identity of Ashli Babbitt's murderer is a closely guarded secret. Only one reason for this. If the incident is really investigated it will never pass scrutiny. Was this officer assigned to protect a specific person in Congress? If so, who was it? It was probably somebody very prominent.

I will cut the Rep a little slack for what he did or said during the so-called "siege," a battle that was worse than Bunker Hill, the Battle of New Orleans, Gettysburg, Pearl Harbor, theHo Chi Minh trail, and 9-11 all combined on 1/6. Or so we've been told But after the fact, I think I'd be asking some serious questions about what really happened. And why an unarmed woman was blown away. But maybe it's just me.

I’ve said it before, but once again for emphasis: If you have school-aged kids and you live in a blue state, you’re courting disaster by not moving before the fall semester. Which is now only a month or so away. It shouldn’t be a question at this point that schools will reopen come hell or high water. The American Academy of Pediatrics has endorsed it, the CDC has endorsed it, even AFT President Randi Weingarten has endorsed it — conditionally, depending on whether enough precautions are taken to keep teachers (and students, but mostly teachers) safe. Well, all people aged 12 and up are eligible

Indeed it doesn’t, and in more ways than former FDA commissioner Scott Gottlieb lays out here. Gottlieb tells CNBC’s Squawk Box that the new guidance doesn’t appear based on any real evidentiary shift, and is also doomed to failure anyway. Masks will have a “negligible impact” on the spread of the Delta variant of COVID-19, and the emphasis should really be elsewhere: Gottlieb, who said that he expects the surge in coronavirus cases from the Delta variant to dissipate in two to three weeks, noted that vaccinated people “just need to be mindful” that they can still transmit

Quite frankly, the Democrats’ flip-flops when it comes to the Wuhan coronavirus are just out of control. Here’s Joe Biden in May explaining to us that it’s “vaxed or masked” “Folks, if you’re fully vaccinated — you no longer need to wear a mask,” Biden said. The Biden team then basically celebrated on July 4th as though they’d beaten the pandemic in a “Mission Accomplished” kind of a way, with a party of 1000 people who weren’t masked. But now, they’re pushing that even if you are fully vaccinated, you need to be masked in areas where the Delta variant is high or substantial.

Begin with one simple fact: The Delta variant of COVID-19 is more contagious than the original virus, but it is not more dangerous or likely to kill you. If you are vaccinated and are exposed to it, you may get infected. This infection is likely to be mild; occasionally vaccinated people get sick. These symptoms are usually mild, manageable, and pass within a day or two. The first case of the Delta variant — previously referred to as “the Indian variant” — in the U.S. was diagnosed at the end of March. Our active COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths have declined since that date, although the daily number

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) threw a wrench into Democrats’ plan to slip amnesty for millions of illegal aliens into a federal spending package that would bypass a filibuster and only need a simple majority in the United States Senate. On Wednesday, Sinema announced that she opposes a $3.5 trillion budget — which includes an amnesty for millions of illegal aliens — and thus the Senate Democrats do not have the 50 votes necessary to pass the spending package. Democrats, for months, had hoped to slip the amnesty past Congress without facing opposition from Senate Republicans

Gov. Greg Abbott is apparently throwing caution to the wind with his latest move to curb illegal immigration in his home state of Texas. Travel during the Covid-19 pandemic has created a bureaucratic mess, especially for those who venture outside the country. It’s now routine overseas for unvaccinated individuals to have to jump through more hoops and restrictions than vaccinated travelers do. A growing number of countries around the world now require some form of digital proof of vaccination. While the details of these Covid passes vary from place to place, they function essentially the same way: digital health records, stored on your phone, prove that you present a low risk to others. From a practical perspective, these “vaccine passports” or “digital Covid certificates” drastically cut down

If you wanted to try to give people vaccine hesitancy, what would you do that Joe Biden already hasn’t done? I’m not sure you’d act much differently than he has. The latest move today — the CDC issuing guidance that the fully vaccinated should go back to wearing masks in most of the country where the Delta variant might be surging — will leave some who already are questioning the vaccine, to doubt and question it even more. Plus, as we reported, the White House’s explanation for why we should do so amounted to basically: Do it because we told you to do so. Not very confidence-building.

Perhaps it’s because I grew up surrounded by extraordinarily tough people, but I found myself singularly unmoved by the spectacle in the House on Tuesday, which reminded me of a bad mash-up of Dr. Phil, Oprah, and BLM-produced soap opera, rather than a legitimate inquiry into an event that Democrats have seized upon to consolidate their power by destroying their opposition. As sobbing congressmen and Capitol Police officers took turns talking about their psychic injuries, I was alternately embarrassed for them if they were really that weak, and frightened of them if they were that sociopathic as a pathway to power.
