Wakayama, Japan — Germany’s Olympic soccer team walked off the field during a preparation match for the Tokyo Games on Saturday in response to alleged racist abuse from an opposing Honduras player toward German defender Jordan Torunarigha.
The players left the field together with five minutes remaining in the game after Torunarigha was “racially insulted,” the German soccer federation said on Twitter.
“If one of our players is racially abused, it’s not an option for us to keep playing,” Germany coach Stefan (Snip) “It was hard to get him in, he was terribly upset because he said he was repeatedly racially abused,”
Well, now their opponents know how to beat them every time...get them to forfeit.

Pardon me for repeating my comment on girl soccer: a third rate sport played by fourth rate players. And NBC wants us to tune into this. Sure.

Did he call him a K.raut or something worse? Germans used to be tougher. Sounds like the soccer team is a bunch of Hausfraus.

Remember when male athletes actually were men and didn't let their little snowflake hurt feelings stop them from playing?!?!?!?!?
If these pantywaisted losers want to forfeit every game to spare feelings, I'm sure all the teams of real men they are scheduled against will be happy to oblige them!!!

once upon a time the player in question would have quadrupled his efforts and punched in a couple of goals, humiliating the opposition. barring that, he would have found a way to cream the offending player even if it meant getting ejected from the game

OK, for those who go-on-and-on about how racist America is....just note; ''Torunarigha, who is the son of former player Ojokojo Torunarigha of Nigeria, has faced racist abuse before. He was targeted with monkey chants by some Schalke fans in a German Cup game on Feb. 4, 2020. Schalke was fined 50,000 euros ($54,600) for its supporters’ abuse.''
THIS .... was in 2020, not 1920. Can anyone conceive that a crowd of sports fans in the US would ever do anything such as that ? It doesn't even make any damn sense.

BITD, a team would use something like this as motivation to go out and kick the other team’s arse!

#8, there was a famous such case. Ranjitsinhji, the Jamsaheb ( Maharaja) of Nawanagar in India, played cricket for England in the early 20th century. When he took to the field at the Lords ground in London he was greeted by chants of N*****, N***** ( yes, Indians in those high days of Empire were subjected to the same treatment). But he went on to excel at his game finally leading the England team as captain. Today First Class cricket series in India is named Ranji Trophy after him.

Must everything be looked at through the filter of race? I am sick of it.
May the German team go down to defeat.

The Germans have always been very racially sensitive people - -
- - you know - - always going out of their way to make others feel comfortable - - like Jews, gypsies, slavs, homosexuals, the mentally ill - - and all other untermenschen - - who are unfortunate not to be members of the Master Race.
Yes - - very racially sensitive indeed.

A rough and tumble male soccer player walks off the field because he said he was racially abused. These so-called “men” are nothing but wilted flowers (can’t use the actual term as it would get me banned).
