Inflation continued to surge in June, with consumer prices accelerating at the fastest pace in almost 13 years as the economy emerges from the pandemic, the feds said Tuesday. The Labor Department’s Consumer Price Index, which measures a basket of goods and services as well as energy and food costs, jumped 5.4 percent in June from a year earlier. That’s higher than May’s 5 percent year-over-year rise in prices, and the biggest 12-month rise since August 2008, just before the financial crisis sent the US into the worst recession it had seen since the Great Depression.

Biden sure has accelerated this but lets give credit where its due. The last balanced budget was Slick and Newt. Since then, Bush II, Obambi, Trump and now Biden have spent money like drunken politicians using taxpayers money. And Congress hasn't helped and perhaps been worse. For decades people have warned that out of control spending will cause huge problems. And we have a world economy that is fragile. Many weak economic nations are failing adding to international instability. Its gonna be a rock economic road and Biden and the Dems are trying to accelerate our leap off a cliff to warp speed.

How ironic 2008 was an election year that got Obama elected. Democrats like cratering an economy. Do it during an election year where Republicans are the incumbents, and Democrats stand a better chance of winning. Inflation also makes people more dependent on Democrats which is also a winning strategy for them. Look for a brief economic resurgence in 2024 to help keep the Democrats in office. it will be the equivalent of throwing table scraps to us peons.

The NAACP on Tuesday vowed to bail out any Texas Democrat arrested by state authorities for running away from a special legislative session earlier in the week called by GOP Gov. Greg Abbott to consider, among other things, new voter integrity legislation.“War has been declared on democracy, and we will support anyone who stands up to defend it. On July 4th, a little more than a week ago, the White House made the preposterous claim that holiday food was cheaper than last year. Everyone who buys groceries knew that level of propaganda was unmitigated nonsense and the consumer pricing data released today shows exactly that.According to the BLS, June prices jumped 0.9%. Every month this year the CPI has been rising faster than the prior month, which essentially means inflation is rising at an ever-increasing rate. Annualized inflation (June 2020 -vs- June 2021) now shows an overall inflation rate of 5.4%.However, at a 0.9% monthly rate -if the level stabilizes- that means the real inflation rate is 10.8%

Last night, several special elections happened in various legislative districts in the states of Georgia, Alabama, and Wisconsin. After the results came in, a common theme was apparent: Republicans had overperformed compared to the 2020 election.Yet, it was the Georgia election that raised the most eyebrows. In a suburban Atlanta district that saw its Republican vote share hit an all-time low just under a year ago, voters swung 22 points further toward the GOP yesterday. (Tweet) Now, because these special election results heavily favored Republicans, the media will not use them as a bellwether.
