That Troubling Expansion of Capitol Police Gets Even Worse With Tech They Plan to Use

Original Article

Posted By: hershey, 7/12/2021 8:11:15 AM

We previously reported on the troubling expansion of satellite offices of the Capitol Police being planned across the country. Unlike other federal government-related police which are subject to FOIA and part of the executive branch, the Capitol Police are under the control of Congress and not subject to FOIA. So, basically you have a police force controlled by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi spreading out across the country.

Comments:

Could this possibly be the beginning of the national police force Obama wanted? Scary thought it would basically be unaccountable.

Capitol Police in name only. The real Capitol Police are best qualified to answer visitors' question at Capitol Hill, and little else. Biden's planned Capitol Police has the makings of being akin to Hitler's Secret Police. Being immune from the Freedom of Information Act is just the tip of the iceberg. Of course the expansion of these so-called Capitol Police is not Biden's idea. It's the idea of true fanatics in DC.

Will they be in Brown Shirts or the all Black uniform? And wasn't it the Capitol Police who shot and killed Ashli Babbitt on Jan 6th. And has Leroy been arrested or jailed yet? And now Nancy wants them in your neighborhood. I thought the Democrats were against cops killing someone of different color?

Nancy can open up as many Capitol Police offices in California as sh wants--good riddance!! But I certainly doubt that there will be a branch office in Tampa, as stated. I would expect Gov Ron DeSantis to kick any Capitol Police out of his state.

There's reason they are called Capital Police or USCP it's because they are in the Capital of Washington DC they are nothing but the palace guard for Nancy Pelosi so roaming off the reservation is not advised. Arrest them when they show up flashing a badge in your states.

The Capitol Police Force should be eliminated, and private security hired. Private security can do the job with 5% of the people employed by the Capitol Police, who don't do the job.

Law enforcement is an Executive Branch function, so no special considerations should be given to Legislative Branch "law enforcement officers." Why are there no concerns of the "checks and balances" between co-equal branches of government? We can clearly see the abuse inherent in allowing the "Capitol Police" to kill an unarmed citizen and, unlike every other police officer, whether local, state, or federal, they can escape the normal accountability for the use of deadly force. If our courts allow this, then there is but one recourse that is provided by the 2nd and 10th amendments, but that requires some starch in the shorts that seems to be in shorty supply these days.

The legislation, H.R. 8, sponsored by Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA), passed by a vote of 227 to 203. H.R. 8 would expand retail point-of-sale background checks so as to cover private points-of-sale. This will criminalize an individual who sells a 5-shot revolver to a lifelong neighbor, unless that neighbor first undergoes a National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) check, conducted by the FBI.

Gov. DeSantis Introduces ‘Anti-Mob’ Legislation To Allow Floridians To Shoot Rioters And Looters 20 replies
Posted by hershey 11/11/2020 3:06:05 PM Post Reply
Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has proposed an “anti-mob” bill that would allow residents to shoot rioters and looters who target businesses following nationwide unrest. The law would expand the state’s self-defense law, which currently forbids “the use of force in defense of property,” by increasing what constitutes a “forcible felony,” according to the Miami Herald. DeSantis seeks to make looting or “interruption or impairment” of a business such a felony, thereby justifying deadly force to prevent it, the local outlet reported.

Five of them are in the city’s eleventh aldermanic ward, on the city’s far Southwest Side. Correction:
