Texas Democrats fled their state on private jets Monday in order to prevent a series of new, restrictive voting laws from making their way through the state legislature. 'Today, Texas House Democrats stand united in our decision to break quorum and refuse to let the Republican-led legislature force through dangerous legislation that would trample on Texans’ freedom to vote,' the Texas state house Democratic caucus said in a statement. At least 58 Democratic lawmakers left Austin to fly to Washington D.C. on two private jets chartered for the occasion and will use the time in the nation's Capitol to rally support for federal voting legislation.

Not again! Didn't we see this play out in Wisconsin a few years ago? And who PAID for those Two JETS? What? They couldn't fly commercial. Great way to spend the Taxpayer's money! Republicans will have a Heyday with that one!

Could The Gullibles actually believe that statement?
Of course the Dimokkkraps started the Civil War to preserve slavery, so they’re capable of anything except rational thought.

Instead of staying, voting NO, and trying to say why the bill was bad and discriminated against minorities, they run away. They run away because they know that there is no discrimination and there is nothing they can do to stop this necessary piece of legislation. Democrats are cowards. Just tell the truth and fight for what you believe in. Stop the lies and scare tactics.

This act is entirely consistent with the Democrat's contempt for the "consent of the governed" principle in the Declaration of Independence. The legally elected Texas legislature is empowered by the citizens to debate and then vote on legislation as determined by the majority. This is so fundamental to practical democracy that the act of obstructing this is far worse than any insurrectionist act alleged against the people who showed up in Washington on Jan 6. Send the Rangers.

I believe it is illegal for them to do that in Texas.
CITIZENS' ARREST, PLEASE!! Hunt those people down and arrest them!

And, just as they were during the Civil War, the Democrats are on the wrong side of the conflict.

Well, Honest voting IS the greatest threat to DEMOCRAT-cy anyway.
Only thing that will save this Constitutional Republic though.

Yes, Pstupid, and the response of that challenge after the Civil War was for the Democraps to create the KKK and lynch blacks and Republicans. So what are you planning this time?
By the way, you dimwit, we don't have a damn democracy here, despite your best efforts to foment mob rule.

Change the bill to an emergency Executive order and let the Democrats try to reverse it. The majority Republicans will squash them, and in effect, you can have the same end result.

Since the demosluts are in the minority in Texas, why should it matter if they take off? Call a vote and pass the bill.

Interesting; Looking at various photos of it, I notice:
Nearly all are women.
They put the black ones up front.
They brought their own 30 packs of beer ... and not Texas Patriotic "Lone Star" but Miller Lite, which they can get anywhere.
None are masked, yet it is required of all us peasants.

They can't vote without a quorum, #13. That is 2/3 or 100 of the 150 in the House. I think they need to arrest and transport about 20 or so of them to make the quorum. Bring them in, vote and turn them loose.

Here in my county in Texas, if I don't show up for jury duty, the judge issues a bench warrant for me and sends the sheriff's deputy out to find me. On the spot, when they are calling names in random order to sit as veniremen, if you are not present, the judge can (and I promise, in my county, WILL) issue a bench warrant which means that either (depending on how dyspeptic the judge is that day) place an alert on you drivers license number so that if you EVER get stopped anywhere in Texas for a traffic violation of any sort, you WILL be detained (arrested) on that warrant; Or, as was the wont of a certain district judge in my county, the sheriff will be immediately ordered to go out and find your sorry rump, arrest you, and bring you before said district judge, who would come in on Saturday even to hold court (pity the poor bailiff, clerk, and court reporter who were dragged in) to hold you in contempt and maybe order that you be held over (i.e. held in county jail) until Monday for hearing on the matter. You'd better be alleging your absence was because you had to attend your own funeral, because there was very little else that would excuse your not either being in attendance for jury duty or at least notifying the district clerk ahead of time as to why you would not be able to be there. And all that for $7 a day as a juror? How much are these KKK (aka democrat) legislators being paid per day. True, it is a lot more that $7 a day, but not an astronomical amount more. Here in Texas we don't pay our legislators enough for them to make a full-time job of it - they actually need to have a job outside of being a legislator (including senator) to make ends meet. Bench them, hold them in contempt them for every day they don't show up - (maybe 5 days in jail and $10000 per day). That would at least get the attention of some of them.

Keeping calling for special sessions and stop their pay until they return. Let them run up their debt.
