A St. Paul woman is suing the Minneapolis Police Department after claiming that an officer shot her in the face with a projectile while she was exercising her First Amendment right last summer in response to George Floyd's death. According to federal court documents, Ana Maria Gelhaye is named as the plaintiff in this case. The defendants named include the officer who allegedly shot the projectile (named as "John Doe"), Minneapolis Police Chief Medaria Arradondo and the City of Minneapolis.

Does the live streaming show the police shooting her? Could she have been hit by something from one of her fellow "peaceful protestors"? There seemed to be a lot more damage and injuries from "peaceful protestors" than anything from the police (who seemed more worried about not getting hurt themselves).

Minnesota state Sen. Foung Hawj was never a fan of the "Asian carp" label commonly applied to four imported fish species that are wreaking havoc in the U.S. heartland, infesting numerous rivers and bearing down on the Great Lakes. But the last straw came when an Asian business delegation arriving at the Minneapolis airport encountered a sign reading "Kill Asian Carp." It was a well-intentioned plea to prevent spread of the invasive fish. But the message was off-putting to the visitors.

The Girl Scouts have an unusual problem this year: 15 million boxes of unsold cookies. The 109-year-old organization says the coronavirus — not thinner demand for Thin Mints — is the main culprit. As the pandemic wore into the spring selling season, many troops nixed their traditional cookie booths for safety reasons.
