Mitt Romney sells $23.5M home after
years of backlash from neighbors

The notorious San Diego home of Mitt Romney, which made headlines in 2012 for having planned an installation of a car elevator, is now in escrow for $23.5 million. The move comes after years of enduring backlash from neighbors for tearing down and demolishing the initial oceanfront structure and building a new, bigger home. Anthony Ciani, a La Jolla, California, architect and former neighbor of Romney at the time, told The Post that his issue was mostly concerning public use of the beach.

Mittens so much wants to be like the Democrats because, like them, “he cares” as Rush used to say. Mitt, believe us, it won’t break our hearts if you turn Democrat, we know you want to do it. Our love for President Trump disturbs your sense of decency, it’s like we are stinky, trailer park trash to you. Go ahead, make a clean break, you’ll feel better and finally Nervous Nancy and Chuck U will approve of you and you can join those who “care”.

I do not care about the cost or size of his house. It does not affect my life in any way. I care about the way he votes and undermines the party that he is supposed to be a member of. That affects my life. I hope the citizens in the state who elected will vote him out in the next election. I do not trust him.

#8. For the 2008 election, there was some underhanded shenanigan where huckabee and McCain pushed Romney out of the primary and McCain got the nomination. Don’t remember the details, bet some of our brilliant Lucianners could tell us exactly what happened. Anyway, afterwards I never liked or respected Huckabee again and I already loathed McCain so much I could barely abide to vote for him. But I knew I had to. Just like four years later I had to vote for Romney. How Romney managed to get the 2012 nomination to run for President I never understood. Maybe the powers that be thought he deserved it after what was pulled on him four years earlier. It was so hard to support and vote for Romney in 2012. He started romneycare in Massachusetts and in my opinion was nothing but a vulture capitalist who earned his fortune lying and cheating and taking peoples jobs away from them. Still think that. I wish him nothing but badness.

I’m not a Romney fan and only voted for him as the lesser of two evils, but I have no problem at all with his tearing down a house and building a new one. It happens all the time all over the country in areas where there is highly desired property on which stands an older, smaller or less comfortable home. Just take a look at suburban Washington DC if you want to see thousands of examples. He owned the land and it was his right to do what he did. And the objection about beach access is BS. The wall along the Romney property by the beach lines up with the neighbor’s wall.

He doesn’t understand California’s beaches any better than anyone from a landlocked state would. The house is a monstrosity, so unsuited to its site. It sounds as though this was never intended to be one of their homes, but just another of his exploito business deals. Moneymaker. He is a creep.

They say it's because of the beach, but a house that size blocks the view of everyone behind it. Not only do they lose their views, but home values drop. It's something that people with a conscience and respect for their neighbors don't do. So of course Romney did it.

Allow me to say that I saw this coming. Each time the conservative establishment raises a “moderate” leftist on its shield, a rude awakening follows. This may have already begun to happen in the case of Eric Adams, who is now the Democrats’ mayoral candidate in the Big Apple. In the recent race there, establishment conservatives lavished praise on this candidate, a former police captain who, we were told, would be tough on crime. In National Review, Kyle Smith assures us that Adams’ victory in the primary spells a probable defeat for “socialism” in the Big Apple: The never-ending quest to find some actual workers who supported the socialist agenda

Big Tech undeniably censored the American people for questioning the results of the 2020 election. Former President Donald Trump, several of his advisers, and even various citizens simply sharing their opinion were banned from major public platforms. This was in addition to various other Orwellian information-suppression techniques, such as flagging posts where Twitter staffers editorially disagreed, ‘fact-checking’claims with partisans invested in seeing Biden win the election, and ‘shadow-banning’ commenters who seemed to be a bit too skeptical about the various election anomalies and irregularities.

California’s slide into chaos has not been an accident. A huge reason for the striking rise in homelessness and both petty and violent crime is Prop 47, a bill deceptively titled the Safe Neighborhoods and Schools Act. The actual bill couldn’t be further from the title. It reduces the penalties for felony crimes, allows for early release of violent criminals, changes some violent felonies to misdemeanors, and allows criminals to steal up to $950 dollars per day in property without prosecution. As a result, police officers are less and less likely to respond to calls reporting petty theft, as there isn’t much they can do with a suspect.
