President Joe Biden on Wednesday made his first visit to the Chicago area since taking office to discuss his plan to help working and middle-class families but, as is often the case, the city’s rampant gun violence emerged as the dominant theme of the day.Just hours before Biden touched down in Chicago, two federal agents and a Chicago police officer were shot in a vehicle on the city’s Far South Side. The president briefly discussed the shooting on the tarmac at O’Hare International Airport in a private conversation with Mayor Lori Lightfoot, according to the White House.Biden did not reference the shooting or Chicago’s struggles to tamp down violent crime

Look here you communist piece of garbage. If you have a gun and a thug, and take away the thug, will anyone be hurt? Now take away the gun but leave the thug. Will anyone be hurt? The problem is not the gun.

A monthly check is meaningless when you have bullets flying over your children's heads.

Right, sure he did (pig snort!). Oh I think he definitely has our 2nd amendment in his sites (or the puppet masters pulling the strings do). More people are dropping dead from the injections than are being shot.

Although not as openly partisan as the Washington Post, NYTimes and Atlanta Constitution, the Tribune is in the democrat tank and, therefore, not a credible news source.

Biden demonstrated the only way anyone should visit the war zone of Chicago--surround yourself with a company of secret service agents. If you are unable to have such protection and you value your life, then do not go near that democrat owned liberal utopia.

At least some cities know what is going on...just heard on the news Cincinnati is no longer plea bargaining gun related crimes..not a lot I know, but at least the mayor and chief aren't calling for more gun control...yet...and they are democraps...Cincinnati is starting to look like Chicago...except Cranley doesn't look like a refugee from 'The Walking Dead'...

Funny how Joe went to Chrystal Lake instead of my wife's old West side hood. Had he fallen down in a northerly direction he'd have landed in Wisconsin (slight hyperbole its abt 20 miles from the border) That's how not Chicago he was.

President Biden did NOT visit Chicago. He flew in to Chicago, shook Lightfoot's hand, then drove to Crystal Lake (not even near Chicago, it's 45 miles away. It's a Sleepy town of 40,000 or so. Nothing to see there! Looks like Biden was afraid to walk the Streets of Chicago with the Idiot Mayor. Don't blame him, everyone else is afraid as well!

Thank you, #1.
My take is that I will not listen to any garbage about gun violence until a gun is arrested, indicted, tried, found guilty and imprisoned.

Crystal Lake is not really Chicago. I'm not really sure where it is, exactly, but know it is out in the deep exurbs. It is far removed from the violence in the city. I have to wonder what Biden's reason was for visiting a place that is neither politically nor financially advantageous.

Cain killed his brother Able. God didn't blame the rock Cain used to bash his brother to death God blamed Cain. It's the same with a gun and persons doing the shooting.

Did Lightfoot tell Joe to go home and take his racist government with him? Just leave a wad of cash behind.

Gun violence? As if the guns didn't have hands, likely black hands, holding them and fingers pulling the trigger?

They always, always, blame the guns...they of course can't blame the people that pull the trigger because you just can't legislate morality...so you try to legislate the guns...when are we going to show we have had enough of this bull pucky?

There is no such thing as 'gun violence'. Only human violence.

If Groot really gave a damn about black violence (I choose to call it what it really is) then she would have accepted the help offered last year by the real President. Instead, she went out of her way to insult Trump and tell him to stay the hell out of her precious sewer.
Now she comes with hat in hand, looking for a handout. Not about black violence, but the cash she can extract. That wasn't what Trump was offering, so she wasn't interested.
