American motorists can expect to pay more to fill up their tanks at least through the end of August, according to AAA. The average price of gas nationwide has climbed to $3.13, a high for the year and up 40% since January 1. And fuel costs aren't expected to drop anytime soon. "We believe it'll rise another 10 to 20 cents at the pump between now and the end of August," Jeanette McGee, a spokesperson for AAA, told CBS MoneyWatch. The main factors behind the steep climb in gas prices: rising global oil prices, businesses reopening as COVID-19 eases across

The Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GIRoA) will collapse inside of six months (best case scenario). ANSF troops are already losing the will to fight. Some are even defecting to the Taliban, to include Afghan SOF. Everyone there knows which way the wind is blowing, thanks to gropey Joe’s Mickey Mouse Club advisors/puppet masters broadcasting our withdrawal solely based on on the significance of a historic date. All it will take is something triggered by the Taliban (Summer is their high kinetic activity season) to spook the herd and then the stampede begins. US Ambassador to AFG as Chief of Mission will invoke Non-combatant Evacuation Operations (NEO) and then the s***show really starts, the likes of which we have not witnessed since Saigon, 1975. Only this time AFG will be an order of magnitude worse as NEO numbers will be in the hundreds of thousands. Hint: US Embassy in Kabul, State Department, NSC and WH have clearly not thought this through, particularly the second and third order effects of their latest ill-conceived decision.

Think about it, a year ago we were energy independent and energy prices were low and getting lower. Today gas prices are skyrocketing and we're now reading about the OPEC meetings again. OPEC was a thing of the past under Trump and now they will be dictating oil supplies again. Thank democrats. Thank the party that is for the little guy. You see a democrat is a freakin indoctrinated brain dead sick individual, every one of them. Got it.

WASHINGTON - U.S. auto safety regulators on Wednesday urged about 50,000 owners of General Motors electric Chevrolet Bolt vehicles that were recalled last year to park outside and away from homes and other structures after charging because of fire risks. Earlier on Wednesday, GM made the same recommendation and added owners should not leave vehicles charging overnight. The recommendation was prompted after the largest U.S. automaker said it was investigating reports of two recent fires in vehicles that were recalled in November for fire risks. The 50,000 U.S. Chevrolet Bolt electric vehicles (EVs) are from the 2017-2019 model years and were

Two men were found dead inside a room on South Beach Wednesday on the eve of the anniversary of the city’s most famous murder — and in the very hotel where that homicide took place. Housekeepers at Villa Casa Casuarina, or the Versace mansion, discovered the bodies in a suite just before 1:30 p.m., then notified police. The men have not been identified and police were offering very little information. (Tweet) “At this time, the scene is contained to the hotel room and detectives have launched a death investigation,” said Ernesto Rodriguez, a spokesman for Miami Beach police.

A crush of Americans are seeking to travel overseas again as vaccination rates climb in the U.S., and foreign governments loosen their restrictions. But many of them are running into a critical problem: Their passport is expired. That's led to another crush -- of passport applications -- one that has overwhelmed the State Department's 26 passport agencies across the country and created an enormous backlog of applications. For Americans planning to travel abroad, the agency warned they should submit an application at least six months in advance. The lengthy delays in processing have left many Americans unable to travel, sparking public frustration

Former President George W. Bush on Wednesday offered fresh criticism of the withdrawal of American and NATO troops from Afghanistan, as the U.S.-backed government in Kabul appears increasingly imperiled and Taliban fighters continue to make rapid gains across the country. Asked whether the drawdown was a mistake, Bush told German broadcaster Deutsche Welle in an interview: “I think it is, yeah. Because I think the consequences are going to be unbelievably bad and sad.” Bush, whose administration launched the U.S. military invasion of Afghanistan in October 2001, specifically cited the plight of Afghan women and girls whom he said could

SAN FRANCISCO — A flurry of shoplifters in masks and hooded jackets sprinted from a downtown Neiman Marcus last week and into getaway cars with armfuls of designer handbags — a scene captured on video and raising fears that rings of thieves were hitting retail businesses. The incident, which remains under investigation, was only the latest to give an impression of lawlessness running rampant in San Francisco's stores, where people have been caught on recordings openly swiping products seemingly without repercussion. But city leaders are pushing back at that image after the release Monday of a midyear public safety report. Police data

The 69 million Americans who collect Social Security are on track to get the biggest cost-of-living hike since 1983, with one advocacy group for senior citizens projecting a 6.1% increase to benefits due to surging inflation. The bad news: Recipients will have to wait for that bump because the Social Security Administration adjusts its payments only once a year, starting with December benefits that are paid in January. That means seniors and other Social Security beneficiaries wouldn't receive a cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) until January 2022. In the meantime, prices for everything from gas to groceries are rising at a time
