Chicago Alderman Anthony Napolitano reacted to the violent Fourth of July weekend in his city on Monday, calling the area a "war zone," and slammed local leaders, including Mayor Lori Lightfoot, for the increase in crime. "We are averaging over 6,000 people shot over the last 18 months," Napolitano, a former Chicago police officer, noted on "Fox & Friends First" on Monday. At least 82 people have been shot with 14 of them being deadly, since 5 p.m. Friday, CBS Chicago reported on Monday morning. The media outlet noted that in comparison, during Independence Day weekend in 2019, at least

Comments:

A war zone would actually be safer because the potential victims can be armed and ready to fight back. In Chicago they are sitting ducks.

No, you're in a Democrat zone. War zones are between two belligerents. A Democrat Zone is just a place where mostly peaceful random firing of guns at other people takes place.

Sadly, the people of Chicago have only themselves (or their neighbors) to blame. Civil Rights award us the privilege to choose our leaders - civic responsibility requires that we elect people capable and moral to the job. Lightfoot is neither.

Once again, Lori Lightfoot will blame the shooting problem being a big story on her being a Black female. The shootings are even worse because she is a lesbian. And all of this is even worse because of doing something about it, she wastes her time blaming others who have nothing to do with it, and writes nasty notes to her staff. Lori Lightfoot is a horrible mayor. She is so busy being a victim herself, she is blinded to what is going on around her.

She is just another Step And Fetch It Democrat of Colour. Of course it isn’t her problem. It’s systemic! Ya think? Indeed it is. It is embedded within the Democrat political machine that runs Chi Ca Go - Bang! Bang! They toss blame around like they haven’t perpetually controlled the city. Of course, it’s those nasty Republican’s fault. Perhaps Lightfoot should spend a few holiday weekends in the neighborhoods she claims to care about.

HELENA Mont. — A grizzly bear attacked and killed a bicyclist who was camping in a small western Montana town early Tuesday, triggering an intensive search for the bruin by wildlife officials and law enforcement officers who planned to kill the animal, authorities said. The pre-dawn attack happened in Ovando, a town of fewer than 100 people about 60 miles (97 kilometers) northwest of Helena, said Greg Lemon, a spokesperson with Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks. The bear had previously wandered into the area where the victim was camping and left but later returned, Powell County Sheriff Gavin Roselles said.

But some models still show it striking the region, and the National Hurricane Center said there’s unusual uncertainty in the long-term track. And the cone shows only the possible locations of the storm’s center, which means hurricane-force or tropical-force winds could extend well outside the cone. Elsa’s forward speed of 31
