Marvel Comics is celebrating Independence Day by having the iconic hero Captain America tell readers that the American dream “isn’t real.”
The first issue of “The United States of Captain America” by writer Christopher Cantwell sees Steve Rogers, the famous red, white and blue “Avenger,” lament the nation’s “white picket fence fallacy.”(Snip) The character then laments another marketed version of America that doesn’t really exist— one with “white picket fences.” Instead, the character discusses an America that “doesn’t get along nicely with reality. Other cultures. Immigrants. The poor.” “We’re at our best when we keep no one out,” the title character says at one point.

Well duh! The real American Dream cannot possible be real to an imaginary and animated drawing. Get serious. The American Dream is alive to the beneficiaries of Tunnel to Towers. How much will you give to house the soldier who put his LIFE on the line for you.

Since 99% of homes in the U.S. don't have a white picket fence, and if that's the criteria these Marxists are using to make such a statement, then they're probably right. However, since in many parts of the country home prices are at an all time high because of the shortages of homes, then this whole Marxist concept is completely wrong, but we already knew that.

fictitious characters relate fictional information. I never bought in to the Captain America, Wonder Woman, Superman ...superhero nonsense. I was more entertained by the reality of MAD magazine.

Democrats have turned the American dream into a nightmare. Cities being burned and looted. Businesses that someone has worked hard for, destroyed. Criminals, thieves, murderers allowed to go free to keep committing the same crimes against unsuspecting citizens. The government fragrantly using lies and flexing its muscles to incarcerate and punish citizens to get even with an opposing party. No one in the past has ever been punished for the same so-called crimes, but now they ignore major crimes and focus on "getting" a former president because they hate him.

Then Marvel's Captain America should give up his red, white and blue uniform and don something in red, with a yellow screen and hammer.
We can find a more deserving spirit of America.

Interesting my phone changes 'sickle' to 'screen' or 'systems' or anything but what I printed, without quotes around it.

The Cap is woke, apparently. This is his second wake-up call. The first one thawed him out from the northern ice he'd been preserved in since WWII. Good thing he wasn't "woke" during WWII, or we might all be speaking German.

Comics - the nectar of the nitwit generation. All I hear from the millennials at work is superhero this and comic that. Shallow morons.

Drivel Comics. Amy Farrah-Fowler said it best: I have no interest in comic books, the store that sells them, or their heart-breaking clientele.

Isn't it ironic that we are being lectured about being out of touch with reality by a fantasy superhero? Actually, the left is wrecking the American dream for millions of people. Spending trillions we don't have on fantasies like Climate Change and Social Justice is unrealistic.

Why do so many people think they will survive communism when it fully takes over? They're going to lament America's full takeover when it happens, but it will be too late.

The push for open borders by the left will destroy this country. They know this or at least a few of the more aware Dems do. It means permanent power for them and it’s critical to their agenda. Think about just one continent...Africa. Africa has approximately one and a third of a billion people and at least half would come here if given the means and opportunity. That’s half a billion mostly poor and uneducated people dumped in our country of 330 million. There is not enough money in this bankrupt country to provide millions more with SNAP cards and free housing. We would quickly descend into some sort of ‘Mad Max’ type of anarchy. Now add a billion more from Asia and South America. In a matter of a few short months or years we would be a nation of two billion citizens without jobs and hoping to ride our gravy train. I am old and won’t be around to see the final collapse of the USA but it’s coming.

Adult children who read comic books need Marxist propaganda too, you know. And it's extra-American when there's money to be made doing so.
