Pelosi says Liz Cheney will serve on committee
that will investigate January 6 insurrection

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced Thursday she was appointing Republican Rep. Liz Cheney to the new select committee to investigate the January 6 attack on the US Capitol, placing one of former President Donald Trump’s most vocal House Republican critics on the panel likely to investigate his role in the lead-up to the insurrection.

Comments:

LOLOL. The sham continues. Pelousy puts the biggest Trump-hater in Congress on this bogus committee. Cheney didn't even inform McCarthy of it; he learned about it by the press. Complete clown show.

Liz "Crazy" Cheney knows that her political days representing Wyoming are numbered. They will end with her given the boot, which she rightfully deserves for her treasonous actions against the U.S. Constitution. The witch will try to take down the Republican Party. Expect regular appearances by her on CNN and MSNBC. She's a cancer.

didn't Nasty say she was going to appoint a Republican to the committee? so she has lied again (S). the rest of the committee reads like Trump's impeachment committee. Will they also investigate the storming of the Supreme Court and Capitol during the Kavanaugh hearing? haha, I crack my self up.

They should publish the report and then investigate. "We had to publish the final report first so we could find out what we are investigating".

This is Pelosi’s third politically based shot at Trump, remember her two impeachment fiascos flamed out in the Senate, so with that history as a guide, this third shot is bound to be another lost cause with nowhere to go. It would be funny if Trump runs for Congress in 2022, is elected to a Florida Republican seat, the Republicans gain the majority in the House of Representatives and Trump is then elected Speaker of the House, of course replacing Pelosi. But a lot could happen before that. Biden could be wheeled out to some five star rest home, thus promoting Harris to be the next President, with Harris then selecting Pelosi to be her Vice-President. The only problem with that is that both Harris and Pelosi are from California, but maybe a leftist and socialist Democrat reading of the US Constitution would allow that to happen.

Petty, venal and unprofessional describes both Pelosi and Cheney. I honestly used to think Liz Cheney was too smart and too classy to be a tool but I have been wrong about many things including the Bushes, the Cheney’s, the McCain’s, Mittens, Colin Powell; practically the whole lot who identified as conservatives but later came out as obvious RINO’s. I feel so stupid about that and will not make the same mistakes twice.

President Joe Biden’s administration is weighing the idea of more mask mandates for Americans during the coronavirus pandemic — even if they are vaccinated, according to a report published Wednesday. Details of the masking discussions were reported by the Washington Post. The White House is weighing these options as the “Delta variant” of the virus is spreading, even among the vaccinated. The report noted that federal health officials are considering whether they would update masking guidance, asking all Americans to wear masks indoors in public places. The White House would likely face strong pushback from vaccinated Americans

We’ve all seen this before, as has every leader of every country in the world. A sitting President of the United States cannot put together a coherent answer to a simple question. (snip) Asked an unchallenging question of 12-year-olds and vaccination, he drifted off in the middle of a sentence, and, as he so often does, looked down, got that Deliverance banjo player look on his face, and appeared to be listening to something in his earpiece, and then strung together a sequence of words that were not grammatically related to the rest of the sentence, but which, on their own, were coherent.

As summer reaches peak heat, a recent piece in Time magazine on air conditioning exemplifies the rot pervading academia and threatening the nation. Eric Dean Wilson, an instructor and graduate student at City University of New York, wrote about how air conditioning will destroy the planet. Yet he teaches “climate-themed writing and environmental justice” at the City University of New York. Wilson describes his recent book

Failing the pandemic test, as World Health Organization Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus believes the world is, means even countries with high vaccination rates could once again find themselves back where they were in March 2020. Ghebreyesus has long advocated for high-income countries to help fill inequities in health care by sharing vaccine doses with other countries' most vulnerable populations. Focusing on a country's own people and not the world's population allows for more mutations of the virus to pop up and in a global world, a deadly variant in one place poses a threat to everywhere.
