The CEO of Nike said the company is a 'brand of China' during a recent earnings call, defending the company's position in the country. The comments come months after the sportswear apparel company was embroiled in controversy over alleged human rights abuses in the country. This week, CEO John Donahoe conducted his quarterly earnings report for the company. He was asked about the company's plan in China by an analyst. 'We've been in China for over 40 years, still invested significant time and energy in China in the early days and today we're the largest sport brand there and we're a brand of China and for China,'

Comments:

USA is not a sovereign nation, but rather an international marketplace within whose borders reside consumers to be exploited by corporations and governments. How eager will anyone be to take up arms and defend this place the next time they decide we need to go to war?

I can remember, from the mid-1970s, when China was on a push to have American companies invest in China. I was an executive at a high-profile hotel and resort developer, and the person who badgered me - sent me gifts, called frequently - was a senior woman in the Shanghai enterprise zone.

Haven’t bought Nike in years and never will. It won’t hurt Nike. I am not their marketing target. Their demographic is black kids who murder other black kids for their $300 sneakers.

Bye, Nike. I’m tossing my tennis shoes tomorrow morning. On second thought maybe I’ll destroy them and send the leftovers back to Nike. Glad I never bought their stock, either. Ditto Facebook. I don’t care how well their stocks have performed. some things can’t be tolerated. They should move their headquarters to Beijing.

Dozens of women went topless for New York City's annual Dyke March Saturday—as smaller than usual crowds turned out for Sunday's main Pride parade amid COVID restrictions. The Dyke March—which celebrates lesbian pride—began at Bryant Park and finished at Washington Square Park, where couples splashed around in the fountain and embraced. For some campaigners showing breasts in public is a form of protest to assert the right of women to dress as they wish. The main Pride parade Sunday is being touted as a virtual event, with a smaller scale march across three blocks. Organizers predict 'millions' will watch on TV.

Mexico City—As many as 50 people are missing after setting out on three-hour car trips this year between Mexico‘s industrial hub of Monterrey and the border city of Nuevo Laredo on a well-traveled stretch of road local media have dubbed “the highway of death.” Relatives say family members simply vanished. The disappearances, and last week’s shooting of 15 apparently innocent bystanders in Reynosa, suggest Mexico is returning to the dark days of the 2006-2012 drug war when cartel gunmen often targeted the general public as well as one another. “It’s no longer between the cartels; they are attacking the public,” said activist Angelica Orozco.

In my opinion, this definition can be applied to a majority of the young, brainwashed radicals who have no idea about the true history of Marxism
