The number of Black people killed in traffic crashes rose 23% in 2020 compared to the year prior, according to early estimates from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Out of the 38,680 people that were killed in traffic crashes last year, 7,494 of them were Black -- the highest percentage increase out of any race. White people had the largest number of traffic deaths last year at 29,092, but the number increased by just 4% from the year prior.

race - ist cars

That's because cars KNOW when someone black is driving them, and contrive to make crashes more deadly to blacks. I would bet the car doesn't deploy its airbag, the brakes fail deliberately, maybe even the car speeds up on its own when Driven By Black (DBB).
Or, this is just a stupid ******* article written by a lying press about something with no significance whatsoever.

It's directly caused by white supremacists like Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse.
Well, either that or bad driving by the folks who got in the accidents.
I wonder which?

Oh Em Gee, MORE systemic racism! White and Asian auto manufacturers are selling defective vehicles to Black folks further victimizing them! Covid, Big Pharma, cops, and now car manufacturers! Will this genocide never end?

Not surprised. I drive I-75 every day and I see people who can't maintain their lane because they are looking at their phone. Black & white in my area do this about equally. But, speeding, following too close and changing lanes unsafely, the ratio is 60% of blacks doing that stuff to 40% whites.

This article started with their conclusion (Black people die in car accidents more) then went and found data to support it. As usual, they have found yet another thing that has a greater effect on Black, brown, and other minorities than other people as a percentage of the population. May, just maybe these people are just worse drivers or feel that traffic laws do not apply to them. The race baiters, activists, and usual suspects will claim that it is racist infrastructure, racist roads, racist traffic laws, racist other drivers, racist everything else. It is never the responsibility of the actual accident victim (if they are a minority).

Cars are racist.

It’s those black boxes cars have in them. More black-on-black violence.

Those Black traffic death victims were not pedestrians who were hit by motor vehicles to any extent, as the article seems to indicate. But in actuality were drivers operating motor vehicles, and their passengers, who for the most part were speeding when the wreck occurred or were in violation of some other traffic laws, even pertinent ones like wearing seatbelts. This is really a puff piece for Biden's proposed infrastructure proposals that will not stop Black traffic deaths and serious injuries, unless Black folks stop driving motor vehicles or stop violating local traffic laws.

What percentage of others involved in the accidents were black? Hmmmm. I'll bet they didn't consider that.

One factor is they don't obey the speed limit signs. Speed kills.

#6 - And the rationale to justify the statistics is ridiculous. "High-stakes driving" because hourly workers can't afford to be late to their job even in good times, but the economic downturn is now impairing their decision-making capabilities.

They don’t obey any other laws so why bother with traffic laws. Where I live the vast majority of people who are tailgating or driving aggressively at high speeds are black. And they are mostly young men. It goes with the statistics on black on black crime.

Nope....its not the cars. It's the racist speed limits and traffic laws.
Well......it could be the cars. If birds, math, classical music and eye glasses are racists, I guess cars could be too.

This fits Occam's Razor to a tee. From what I have seen blacks drive extremely aggressively and at high speeds. There are obviously going to create more accidents and more severe injuries to themselves and others. It's the logical and simple reason.

does that mean that the highways and byways are trying to annihilate our black brothers and sisters? if so, I make a motion that we dig up all roads and melt the asphalt back to its original substance.

I have had long-held opinion based upon earlier daily personal contact with traffic offenders that the majority of drivers of any ethnicity or race who had multiple speeding citations had achieved lower educations than a average as well as other measurements of success, The roadway was the one place they could excel,

We need more information. Are they talking about blacks on drugs in stolen cars or pedestrians ?
No matter where you live, you encounter reckless drivers. You will also see drug dealing in every parking lot, mostly to people driving cars.

Rather than speculating, what was the statistical breakdown on speeding and/or impaired driving as the suspected causes of the accidents? Was there a change in time of day? What was the employment status breakdown of the drivers?
