Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa cruised to a big victory as the Republican nominee for mayor, handily defeating rival Fernando Mateo following a feisty and entertaining primary fight, according to Board of Election returns released Tuesday night.“Curtis won and we want to unite the Republican Party and we hope Fernando Mateo will join us,” Sliwa senior campaign adviser Rob Cole told the Post.It was a rout.
Sliwa captured 68.8 percent or 34,758 of the Republican votes to 27 percent or 13,655 votes for Mateo, a restaurateur who advocates for bodega owners and taxi drivers.
It didn't hurt that Hannity had him on the show today.

He’ll never get elected. Good try, though.

It will be interesting to see if New Yorkers vote for ANOTHER Democrat. Their City is famous all over the world for being a place you can't walk down the Sidewalk or you can be attacked by a BLM Thug. Yet, they will most likely elected someone just like DeBlasio because that's what Democrats do. They vote Democrat no matter if the person will be good for their City or not. So be it! I would never go to that Hell Hole! I have no idea why anyone would want to live there!

Curtis is a moron, with his Leo Gorcy act. Once again, the Repubies back an unelectable candidate. Better than last time when they abandoned Nicole Maliotakis, and gave us the second act of De Blasio.

Curtis was boasting about having 15 cats in a small apartment. Being an animal lover is a positive trait but there is a screw loose there. Anything is an improvement over de Blasio.

I have no interest in New York... or their twisted elections...the folks that are left in New York are doomed to another deblasio candidate... and there's plenty of phony voters to make sure New York continues their decline...all the huff and puff from the republicans can't change the outcome... it's like chicago were an illiterate partisan political hack has messed with the city...the police are demoralized... the garbage workers not doing their job... the citizens leaving as quickly as they can sell their property...it's become biden country with no hope of recovery...you got what you wanted obama...a dying city...

Was there ever a mention of who the Republican candidate for NYC was in the MSM until now?

Imagine some people have the gall to call a Patriot like Curtis defamatory names. He has, and always had conservative principles, and NEVER backed down from a fight. He is exactly the right person at the right time to save this city.

We can't salvage the republic without winning at all levels. And the best the republicans could come up with is Sliwa? No offence to Sliwa intended, but just the image from his time in the public eye is not helpful.

At least we know where Curtis Sliwa stands on law and order. And it's not just talk, He's been there done that.
You can't trust what anybody says especially a scum democrat. Yes, every democrat is the same, they tell you what you want to hear then do the opposite. Curtis Sliwa tells you what you want to hear then backs it up with action. Got it....

Seven to one voter affiliation for the demosluts in New York. Any Republican candidate doesn't really stand a chance.

I think so too #14 but Governorship will be easier than fixing NYC which I don’t think will ever be the Big Apple ever again.

I concur with Poster #10 - - "He is exactly the right person at the right time to save this city."
And that's exactly why Curtis doesn't have a snowball's chance in Hell of being elected. The NYC electorate is composed of the communists and the brainless. They will elect whichever lunatic leftist is running on the demonrat line.

I haven't the slighest idea what Sliwa's politics are. I know that he has been personally brave to go against the gangs in NYC, but nothing else.

Residents of NYC view themselves exactly as the New Yorker metaphorically represents them: snobs in a high hat, cravat, silk gloves, monocle, looking down their nose at the rest of the raggedy-assed world. They were born into money, went to Ivy League schools, and are unshakeably certain of their superiority.
But how stupid do you have to be to elect-- and then re-elect-- a Democrat buffoon who is literally destroying your city? And then replace him, as will happen, with another Democrat who will continue the death spiral of uncontainable crime, garbage pile ups, aggressive homeless, junkies shooting up on the streets? Just how stupid?
So stupid that you think of yourself as superior.

NYC has been in worse shape before. That's when Giuliani beat Mayor Dinkins and resurrected the city from rampant crime. Those were different times. However, If any city can make a come back it will be New York City. They need a tough law and order guy and a shrewd business man with vision and know-how. They had the perfect candidate but he decided to become potus 45.
