It's a 50% raise in pay, even with taking account of his picking up the health insurance, and paying the employer half social security. Frankly, I have seen and heard Gabe, and do not feel he was worth the original $114,000. I think this has been proven by his lack of professional integrity, and usurpation of a public office to enrich himself, rather than as a servant of the public. I don't think Gabe has spent any time thinking about his public responsibilities.

And then he collected the silver U.S. Open trophy after a performance filled with passion and absent of blunders that wiped out everyone else. Rahm made a bending 25-foot birdie putt on the 17th hole to catch Louis Oosthuizen. He buried another curling, left-to-right birdie putt from 18 feet on the final hole for a 4-under 67 and a one-shot victory. “Little man, you have no idea what this means right now,” Rahm said to his son

Disney has been accused of pricing out loyal customers by targeting affluent families with $800 hotel rooms and $100 sandwiches at its theme parks, despite having scaled back its 'magic' since the pandemic began. A family vacation to Disneyland - once the pinnacle of summertime for middle-class American families - will today set a family of four back more than $6,000. With the average annual income now standing at $5,725 a month, this means a visit to the so-called 'happiest place on earth' is increasingly out of reach to the average American family.

I didn’t smoke a cigarette until age 10. Before that, me and the local boys would tramp over the local hills in search of dead ferns to smoke. By high school, we’d graduated to the healthier option. Cadging together $3, we’d skulk outside the off-license and wait. After 12 stern rejections, a reliable character would, for buyer’s rights of one cigarette per 10, smuggle us a glossy packet of Lambert and Butler. Unknowingly, we were Ayn Randian capitalists—peddling each cigarette on the school’s black market for six times the store price. Since then, I’ve smoked with sinful enthusiasm. The column was based on a series of questions and concerns presented by Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL) regarding the still murky details around the January 6th storming of the Capitol building. Two questions lobbed at the FBI are both haunting and disheartening: “What did the FBI know? And when did they know it?” The fact that the agency responsible for investigating the lawlessness of that date is itself under scrutiny is alarming.

There is still a lot of interest in firearms,” Smith & Wesson CEO Mark Smith said this week to Fox Business Network. The data backs his statement. A survey conducted by the market research firm Southwick Associates in April found that, out of 1,800 ammo customers surveyed, 75 percent had already experienced out-of-stock issues this year, down by only 5 percent from the record high recorded in 2020.

Governor Abbott threatened to defund the Texas Legislature after Texas Democrats walked out of the legislative session rather than take a vote on election reform laws. When they broke quorum and shut down the session, Abbott said that if legislators weren’t going to do their jobs, they shouldn’t be paid. Friday Abbott made good on that threat. The elections bill was a top priority for the governor during this year’s session. Texas Democrats decided to cut and run, breaking quorum, instead of voting on Senate Bill 7. They knew that the Republicans had the votes to pass the legislation – both the Texas House and the Texas Senate hold Republican majorities.
