President Joe Biden dismissed concerns Friday that US Catholic bishops would block him from receiving communion because of his pro-abortion stance.'That’s a private matter, and I don’t think that’s going to happen,' he told reporters Friday at the White House when asked about a document that could rebuke him and Democrat politicians. On Friday, U.S. Catholic bishops overwhelmingly approved the drafting of a 'teaching document' for Catholic politicians who support abortion. The result of the vote - 168 in favor and 55 against - was announced Friday by the Most Reverend Allen H Vigneron near the end of a three-day meeting

No, Shuffles, it is not a private matter. You have been installed as the Present Puppet of the CCP in the United States of America. Nothing you do or say is a private matter.

This may sound harsh; but I believe it to be true under the Red Pope. It doesn't matter if abortion kills an innocent life...joey promises to flood the USA with millions of new dues-paying Catholics. So it's all good.

Biden has never been held accountable for anything in his life! Why would he think that the Catholic Church would start now?

It is hard to tell which means more to Biden, the holy sacrament of communion or a pile of dead babies.

Yep, with fellow traveler Pancho Bergoglio as Pope it will never happen.

The enemedia is not telling the whole story, framing it only as a specific attack against President *. The bishops are not only considering appropriate actions against publicly elected officials, but also the laity; a flock that has been left to decide for themselves about legal abortion for fifty years. Good Catholics believe abortion is just one of many political issues and they don't have the right to limit another person's decision. They have received no contrary instruction from their pastors and bishops.
This “teaching document” is to correct that situation by informing all of the laity on the evils of abortion and that any support is a mortal sin. The drafting committee will have Archbishop Cordileone’s pastoral letter, and I’m sure the cadre of conservative bishops already have language prepared for submission. The vote to approve drafting the document was 168 to 55. Only 2/3rds are required to adopt at the November meeting, approximately 150, well under today’s yea vote.
This is a watershed moment for our bishops. For fifty years they have turned away from the awful, bloody truth of abortion and failed to preach against it from the pulpit. The reason given, by priests of whom I inquired, was that abortion was not a subject to be discussed at Mass when families with small children are present, and it could also cause emotional harm to post-abortion women. So they preached pro-life instead. This omission of clear moral teaching about the abomination of abortion allowed good Catholics to vote for candidates that supported abortion, as it was just another political issue. They could contribute to their local crisis pregnancy clinic and still vote Democrat.
I expect the teaching document will apply to Catholics in the pew as well as prominent public Catholics. The first action by the Church will be teaching, meaning abortion will be preached from the pulpit. The laity will be told the brutal truths of abortion; the taking of innocent human life and the spiritual, emotional and physical devastation experienced by post-abortive women.
They will be reminded that active support of abortion also includes donations and votes for candidates that advocate for abortion rather than work to enact limitations, if not full repeal. They will be reminded that any support, active or passive, in the commission of a mortal sin is also a mortal sin. Everyday Catholics will be called to examine their conscience, reflect upon their actions and avail themselves of the Sacrament of Reconciliation (confession). Failure to do so will place them under excommunication, whereby they will not be free to receive the Eucharist. The average pew warmer will be answerable to their own conscience, and before God at their personal judgement, should they receive Holy Communion without Reconciliation. Unless their pastor is aware of their views due to their own statements and prevents them from compounding their sin.
The public official will be spoken to in private by their bishop or pastor privately. They could be required to make a public renunciation of their previous positions. Should they continue in their promotion of abortion, their excommunication could be made public.
All Catholics will be treated equally in the eyes of Mother Church as she instructs her flock. The Holy Spirit does guide the Catholic Church, but He still has to work with humans, so it’s slow going.

Or what Joe? Will you sign an executive order pulling the church's tax exempt status?

AMDG I remember in Catholic school 68years ago writing it at the top of every paper we turned in.
For the Greater Glory of God.
As a child we used to say it meant, Aint mama's dumplings good.
With todays Catholic Church our jokingly stated meaning has come true.

I find this hilariously sad. Here we have a man who is tearing apart every segment of society and we have to be on board with it. Then, when it becomes about himself, it becomes a private matter. Well, my house, my investments, my relationship with God etc. are private matters for me. . .

Joe Biden has been around DC as a liberal Democrat and “UniParty” lawyer-politician for several decades and he knows, or thinks that he knows, that targeted donations can go a long way to change attitudes, even when dealing with with high level Church bureaucrats.

I don't think it will happen either. That said, if his faith is a private matter, why does he allow (request) the press photograph him at church?
