Big companies are hiring for remote positions that can be performed in any state across the U.S. except one: Colorado.
At issue is a new Colorado law that requires companies with even a few employees in the state to disclose the expected salary or pay range for each open role they advertise, including remote positions. The rule’s aim is to narrow gender wage gaps and provide greater pay transparency for employees. To avoid having to disclose that information, though, some employers seeking remote workers nationwide are saying that those living in Colorado need not apply.
Across the internet, an array of job listings state the work can’t be done in Colorado.

FTA: "...rule’s aim is to narrow gender wage gaps..." Must be from leftards - only they are stupid enough to 'fix' a non-existent problem, with all the unforeseen consequences. Or done deliberately to ruin the job market they don't have the constitutional authority to mess with anyway.

We don’t want ANYONE or ANYTHING from Blue Colorado.
Same goes for New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Illinois, California and a number of Leftist hellhole states.
Face it, Yankees hate us. Why do we Southerners allow them to invade, rape and pillage us AGAIN????
Stay up North. Please. I beg you. You won’t like it here. We have weird accents, we walk slow, it’ll hot. Our food is foreign to you. We believe in God and our 2nd Amendment rights.
We are NOT yet woke—and don’t want to be. You won’t like it here.

The reality of these jobs is that it is far cheaper for a company to use the employee's resources and leave them at home. Fired at the drop of a hat. Colorado did a decent thing to poke holes in the work from home scam. Generally, you are paid less that minimum wage and are required to provide your own technology. Your hours are split up and many are 7days a week. Oncall is mandatory. I did look into them. No one tells you what they pay up front. Some even have the gall to add 'support fees'. If you can do it from home, you can do it from India. The employer's charge extra to the customers to have a "US force"....employed at 'contractor' rates.

I wish to heaven I moved away from this forsaken state when I was able. Before we were californicated, Colorado was a wonderful place to work and raise a family. I hope other states have learned from our experience.

Watch the greedy politicians start destroying the benefits of remote working. I work from home. My company provides all the equipment I need; they pay for internet and phone; I save tons of money on clothes, gas, and food; my pay is not bad either. I've been doing it since 2008; it works for me. I just need politicians to keep their greedy hands out of things.

I worked remote for 14 years, one of the first from my company. It changed my life, I would probably have died form a heart attack otherwise.
Yes, I worked long hours supporting both east and west coasts, but it easy to arrange time throughout the day and sometimes whole days to pursue my own interests. All my resources were at my home office whereas everyone else usually had to go to the office to work weekends and were stuck there when working late. I was already home.
I know I was paid less, but it was a tradeoff I was willing to make. I didn’t have to relocate or go to an office. When you factor in getting ready for work, the commute, the parking, getting to your desk and setting up as well as the reverse, two hours were saved each day worked. Without constant phone calls and people dropping by to chat or getting involved in someone else’s problems another two hours a day was saved maybe much more.
The time savings and better mental health and attitude enabled me to be more productive than my office counterparts. While they were scrambling, my work was completed and I had free time.
Companies get rid of remotes for the same reasons they fire other people, they’re not team players, don’t get their work done, make excuses, do bad work, etc. If you’re good, they will never let you go.
