Rachelle Zola had never been to Chicago. She didn’t have friends or family here. But in summer 2019, she bought a 1969 Mercury Sable with no heat and an oil leak, and drove here from Tucson, Arizona, with a single goal. Zola, who is 73 and white, wanted to live among Black and brown people.(Snip)She embarked on a hunger strike on behalf of one of the most ambitious and elusive goals of the U.S. racial justice movement: reparations — or making amends through payments or policy — to Black people for slavery.Bright-eyed and energetic during a recent interview, Zola has made it to Day 32 of her all-liquid diet of

Tap through TikTok and you'll fall down a slang-filled, dance-crazed rabbit hole a la "Alice in Wonderland." A piece of advice: Don't repeat everything you hear on your sojourn down. Especially if you are white. White people – on social media and in real life – regularly appropriate African-American Vernacular English (AAVE) like "slay" and "sis" without thinking, and some of these phrases come directly from the Black LGBTQ community. Experts say this perpetuates racism, erases Black contributions and fuels cultural misunderstandings. Simply put: It's Black linguistic appropriation. "The divorcing of Black people from the way that we talk is really just

Alina Chan is a biologist at the Silver lab at the Harvard School of Medicine.Chan is one of 18 scientists who finally admitted in the journal of Science last month that the Wuhan coronvirus likely originated in a Wuhan, China virology lab.Chan says liberal scientists lied to the American public for months about their beliefs on the origination of the virus. They did this because they didn’t want to be associated with President Trump — who was right about the virus all along.

Football star Megan Rapinoe and actress and producer Priyanka Chopra Jonas are joining Victoria's Secret in what the lingerie giant is calling a "dramatic shift" for the brand.
They are among several new faces who will help promote the brand which is best known for its lingerie-clad models known as Angels.
Victoria's Secret still generates billions of dollars in sales.
However, its hyper-sexualised image has fallen out of fashion in recent years.
Ms Rapinoe and Ms Chopra Jonas will form part of "The VS Collective" a group of women who will work with the company on "collaborations, business partnerships and cause-related initiatives".

Do you remember how conservatives went out of their way to separate rank-and-file FBI agents from the corrupt actions of Jim Comey, Andrew McCabe, Bill Priestap, James Baker, James Rybicki, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page (snip) an exposé in Revolver News detailing the FBI's probable infiltration of the January 6 voting rights protest and political rally in D.C. and the likelihood that undercover agents instigated and actively participated in the events at the Capitol that day should put the matter to bed once and for all.

Failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton escalated her attacks on supporters of former President Donald J. Trump. She accused them of being “domestic enemies” and of doing “Putin’s work.”The former secretary of state under Barack Obama had dreams of becoming the nation’s first woman president, however those were dashed by Rust Belt voters in 2016. Now she joins the unhinged duo of Trump haters Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski to kvetch about the Russian leader on Wednesday’s edition “Morning Joe” on MSNBC.

More than a dozen Republican House members, led by former White House doctor Ronny Jackson, asked President Biden Thursday to undergo a cognitive test and release the results “so the American people know the full mental and intellectual health of their President.”“The American people should have absolute confidence in their President,” reads the letter to Biden in part. “They deserve to know that he or she can perform the duties of Head of State and Commander in Chief. They deserve full transparency on the mental capabilities of their highest elected leader.”

If Catholic politicians who support abortion rights were anxious about being restricted from receiving Holy Communion, they can breathe easier. Such a prohibition is now off the table at Thursday’s U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. “We are no longer proposing a national policy” regarding who may present themselves for Communion, Bishop Kevin Rhoades of Indiana’s Fort Wayne-South Bend Diocese told delegates to a virtual USCCB spring meeting. Bishop Rhoades, who chairs the group’s doctrinal committee, conceded the notion “was in the original proposal” for the document, he added, “We never meant it as it’s been interpreted in many media sources.”

A 700-pound statue of George Floyd now sits in front of Newark City Hall. It will remain there for at least a year, as what city officials say they hope will be a reminder of the impact of the Minnesota man’s death. “George Floyd represents a lot more than himself at this juncture in history,” Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka said during a ceremony Wednesday where the statue was unveiled to the public. “Hopefully when people walk by it and they see it…hopefully it inspires them to become active in the struggles that are happening right here in Newark and right here in New Jersey.”

Squad member, Rep. Cori Bush said on Wednesday night that black Americans now need reparations and 'liberation' after the House approved a bill making Juneteenth a federal holiday known as 'National Independence Day'.(Snip)
'It’s Juneteenth AND reparations. It’s Juneteenth AND end police violence + the War on Drugs. It’s Juneteenth AND end housing + education apartheid. It’s Juneteenth AND teach the truth about white supremacy in our country,' she wrote in a tweet Wednesday night. 'Black liberation in its totality must be prioritized,' the Missouri Democrat encouraged. The fourteen House Republicans voted against the measure for June 19 to become a 'National Independence Day' because

President Joe Biden signed a law Thursday to make 'Juneteenth National Independence Day' a federal holiday, starting from tomorrow. 'Juneteenth marks both the long, hard night of slavery and subjugation and a promise of a brighter morning to come,' Biden said at the White House signing ceremony, surrounded by Democratic and Republican guests. 'This is a day of profound weight and profound power, a day in which we remember the moral stain and the terrible toll that slavery took on the country - and continues to take.' On Wednesday night, the House of Representatives passed the bill with 14 Republicans voting against it. In the Senate,

The election of 2020 is going to lay bare the dereliction of the Supreme Court for all to see. The COVD-19 pandemic gave numerous state election officials an excuse to implement far-reaching changes to our election processes. Those changes obviously made our systems vulnerable to fraud. States implemented massive mail-in balloting at the same time they relaxed ballot security and voter identification. They even extended the voting periods -- to give the criminals more time to commit their fraud.
All these changes were unconstitutional. (snip) The Supreme Court declined to get involved.
Comments:
Harris and Biden do not need to go to the border. She’d have to hold his hand and keep him from speaking. She would just do her hee-haw donkey laugh.
