Two high-ranking employees have been forced to resign from a well-known American medical journal after they publicly criticized the notion of “systemic racism,” according to Campus Reform.
The resignations came from Deputy Editor Edward Livingston and Editor-in-Chief Howard Bauchner, of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). Livingston submitted his resignation to Bauchner, then his superior, in March after Livingston appeared on a podcast where he stated that “no physician is racist,” a sentiment that was repeated in a tweet from the American Medical Association (AMA) promoting the podcast.
Livingston’s comments were criticized by far-left activists, including a black female doctor with the AMA named Aletha Maybank,

The primary "systemic racism" is called Affirmative Action. It is a system for racially oppressing white people by providing school admissions and jobs to unqualified minorities and women.
THERE is your systemic racism, and it is NOT against blacks or hispanics.

We are not a racist country. Just look at the number of people, from all over the world, trying to get here.As for the medical association, they are a mess. I rarely get a diagnosis anymore, just here take these pills. I did get a diagnosis of a fall in 2003, I 'sprained' my shoulder and no we can't do an MRI because it's swollen. I did get an MRI when I went home a few weeks later. I had a fractured arm and torn ligaments and I'd dislocated my shoulder. The hospital is in Gainesville, Fl and rhymes with sand.

Word to the wise: Look up your doctor and if he/she/"they" is a member of the AMA, find another doctor and be sure to drop him/her/"them" a note telling him/her/"them" why you're dropping him/her/"them."

"Forced to resign." We call that summarily fired where I come from. Even being terminated from a job is no longer correctly identified in the Orwellian world of the left.

Forced? to resign? People need to resist and then to sue. First Amendment Rights are being denied all over tarnations. Every step backwards is ... a step backwards into the straightjacket of censorship, narrowmindedness and ignorance.
Real science, real history, real REASON take place in the free exchange of ideas, no matter how difficult some are to hear and debate. The Founders knew this well. Our amazing Founding documents attest to this, the freest political system in history attests to this.
People have been rolling over and playing dead too quickly, too easily. We have seen various entities, States, locals, use autocratic tactics to "make examples of" individuals, businesses, churches. And everyone gets the message. Gets afraid, and gets the message.
Then mutual respect is essential.
One thing, one thing must always be resisted, and that is lying. Lying liars. There will be times, indeed often, when Truth itself is controversial. There are philosophical disputes for which a resolution is in "agreeing to disagree."
What if a patient arrives in the ER with multiple symptoms, some leading some to one conclusion, another to other conclusions each would require a major surgery, and if the other DX was right, the patient would be paralyzed, or worse, die. They decide to operate on the cervical disks, but need to wait for specialized equipment in order to make the incision through the front of the patient's neck.
Then Doc. # 3 arrives in the exam room carefully listens to the symptoms and reports from family and nurses, and orders a series of tests.
He has the patient is whisked away to a major hospital where she is treated for Guillain-Barre Syndrome. Surgery may well have led to her death. He got her out of danger with one day to spare.
I witnessed this. I was a patient. I saw similar more often than I like to admit (impacting my own care). The failure to consider the facts, empirical observations, the willingness to question what appears to be so, being willing to question preconceived notions, are essential to a maintaining civil society, if we don't want to descend into dictatorship.

I am a physician. When I graduated from medical school I was very proud to become a member of the American Medical Association and to start getting my subscription of JAMA. I soon realized (many years ago) that the AMA is another leftist organization and was doing absolutely nothing to help me in my practice. I quit the AMA and haven't read an article in JAMA for decades. Of course, the media consider the AMA to be "the voice" for physicians and perfect in all that the AMA does.

The AMA has been under a cloud for some time now… This kind of rubbish doesn’t help. Really good doctors should have been bailing out of it long ago.
