Men and women alike are up in arms after it was revealed that a scene showing Batman performing oral sex was cut from the adult animated HBO Max series Harley Quinn—because, according to DC Entertainment executives, 'heroes don't do that.' Harley Quinn co-creator and executive producer Justin Halpern told Variety this week about the deleted scene, saying that it showed Batman 'going down on Catwoman'—but they were forced to nix the moment after DC told them they 'absolutely cannot do that' because it wasn't something that heroes do. Social media users have taken issue not with the fact that the scene

I never thought I'd have to speak up for a comic-book character's right to a private life, but that's just what it is - private. Even in ComicLand, there are things which should be kept between individuals. HBOMax is pushing this aside for a few prurient bucks.
Carry, on, Bruce. I don't need to know.

This is not the kind of comics I grew up with. It looks like the new comics industry should have ratings applied, similar to movies, to warn off consumers choosing not to expose their children to vulgarity.

Modern sophistry has destroyed the comics as an art form. You cannot have good vs evil when objective values for those concepts don't exist.
Since there is no objective "good," all you really have is two brutes clobbering each other for power's sake. Not my cupa tea.

why would such an act even be in the story line, what did it have to do with crime fighting? that makes it pornography, doesn't it? I guess little kids no longer watch cartoon characters do their crime fighting and victim saving, anymore but they do have time for cunnilingus so, the audience doesn't care about the mission of the crime fighters, they want them to be porno performers. ridiculous!!!

Believe me I know how desperate artists can be for work, but sometimes you walk away. Sadly, with our culture in ruins because of evil people and lazy cowards, many under 40 have no idea what the problem is.

I'm reminded of the Adam West Batman scene where Bruce Wayne told his date, "Yes, I will come in for some milk and cookies." Then he looked at the camera and said, "Man does not live by crimefighting alone." I was a little guy and couldn't figure out why my father was laughing so hard.

I don't get the point of putting something like that in an animated movie about super hero's. The animators must be a perverted bunch.

My lib sister is always recommending tv shows to me. They ALL have sex scenes galore and frankly, I’m disturbed that perhaps she was molested at some point in the past. It’s just odd. She’s also obsessed with gruesome modern horror flicks. I’ve learned to pass on anything she suggests. She’s a bit nutty and is on psych meds so...she should probably stick to the Hallmark Channel. She’s definitely disturbed.

Like #16, I've observed that a significant chunk of the younger crowd bases its entire critique of entertainment on having an R+ rating. I remember a movie which was unique in that it was the only movie in the franchise which was rated PG13. The reviewers were in an uproar for the simple fact there wasn't enough violence and/or language to get an R rating. Therefore, the movie sucked. That's why we see ever increasing garbage on the screen. Give the customers what they want, right?

The DC and Marvel comic franchises were aimed at children. They are already on shaky ground promoting Marxist values and LGBTQ... whatever. The fact that these adults who grew up on comic books, but never 'grew up, want sex scenes is to justify their own little fantasies and pork.
Pitiful.

It sounds like at least SOMEONE at 'DC Comics' has at least a BIT of Decency and Common Sense.
If course the Leftists are complaining. They want to smear their Filth Everywhere.
