Was Trump right about hydroxychloroquine
all along? New study shows drug touted
by former president can increase
COVID survival rates by 200%

A malaria drug which Donald Trump was condemned for hailing as a possible COVID-19 treatment can increase survival rates by up to 200 per cent, scientists say. Scientists found that, when ventilated patients with a severe version of COVID were given high doses of hydroxychloroquine with zinc, their survival rates could increase dramatically.(Snip) The former president had previously touted hydroxy as a potential miracle treatment, with scientists lining up to insist he was wrong to do so. Yet Trump's allies on Wednesday were highlighting the study, conducted by Saint Barnabas Medical Center in New Jersey on 255 patients.

Comments:

Inject a questionable but highly profitable gene therapy with overstated effectiveness, or take reasonable precautions as one does during flu season and use a cheap therapy in the off chance that you get sick enough to notice it. I know the American solution.

Of course Trump was right. Trump didn't come up with this by himself like the MSM seemed to claim, he consulted people in the know. He basically got a second opinion and didn't rely just on Fauci for information unlike the MSM. You think Trump didn't see the video of Fauci making faces behind his back at the press conferences? Trump had to use Fauci because of the position Fauci was in, but he also used information from others.

Daily Mail article says the study only shows protection in severe cases. OK that is quibbling. the study only considered severe cases. It did not rule out help for weak cases. Tricky wording. And they say Trump took it for protection but got sick anyway. But we do not know whether he kept up with it and I have ALWAYS suspected he stopped using it bc hcq gives nightmares and he had work to do and could not manage the nightmares. btw cinchona bark does not have a reputation for nightmares - it is the ancestor of HCQ but has a multitude of compounds as herbal versions of medicine often do.

Didn't other countries successfully use Hydroxychloroquine to treat Covid? While the US press was so busy trying to prove Trump wrong, other places were proving him correct. Hydroxy combined with Zinc worked elsewhere, apparently the US press & media thinks that the protections didn't cross the oceans or something. The press lied, people died.

No surprise as Trump has been found to be right on just about all the matters that he has commented on while he was President. No doubt there will be more to come. Trump’s big problem from the get-go was that he was up against the corrupt and dishonest leftist, liberal, and socialist Democrats, and their propaganda arm the so-called mainstream media who have no qualms about feeding the American people false, fraudulent or misleading news for partisan political purposes, and especially when it came to the “outsider” Trump daring to take on their institutionally corrupt “insider” UniParty DC political system. In that respect we have not even mentioned the anti-Trump wimpy UniParty DC Republicans who covertly attempted to go along with the Democrats to sabotage Trump’s political agenda at every turn. Clear the combined UniParty was deathly afraid that if he could, that Trump would kick over their corrupt financial apple-carts. Bottom line Trump was one man show against the corrupt DC political system.

This is one of the better observational studies of HCQ. The results are certainly suggestive that HCQ has value, but it is a poor substitute for a properly conducted double blind randomized trial. One very valid question is why are there not several such trials published for HCQ and for another cheap and very safe drug, Ivermectin? Are scientists too lazy to perform them? Or is the only thing that motivates scientists is oodles of drug company money for some novel million dollar treatment? Fauci, are you in charge here?

The CDC and the fake news have a lot of blood on their hands because of the deaths they caused by suppressing this treatment. One of their favorite tactics was to create studies in which they purposely misapplied the medication by using it too late in the illness or without using it in combination with zinc, which is required for it to be effective. Those people have now conscience.
