Vermont Gov. Phil Scott (R) is asking state lawmakers to pass an elections law that would allow non-citizens across the state to vote in local municipality elections.Scott vetoed two pieces of legislation that sought to give non-citizens the right to vote in local elections in Montpelier and Winooski, Vermont. However, he said he is not opposed to the plan but wants state legislatures to send him a bill that would give non-citizens the right to vote, statewide, in local elections.“This is an important policy discussion that deserves further consideration and debate,” Scott wrote in his vetoes: Allowing a highly variable town-by-town approach to municipal voting creates inconsistency

Why doesn't the governor of Vermont just open all their elections to anyone in the world, and show what good little global citizens they are? Vermont could allow anyone in the world to run in their elections. of course their new leaders will be people the locals never heard of before but that would be a trifle compared to the 'greater good' they have done. Can imagine some lefty (and they may even be a Republican!) running for President proposing a scheme like this nationwide. Our next President would be from China. So would our governors, senators, representatives, and mayors.

A Republican governor in Vermont is like the Republican governor in Maryland. They're not really Republican, but when they were running for office, the Republican field was smaller, and they stood out from the others. If they ran as demosluts, nobody would have noticed them because there were so many, and their differences wouldn't have stood out.

President Biden broke off negotiations with a group of GOP senators led by Sen. Shelley Capito on Tuesday (R-W.Va.) amid disagreements regarding the structure and size of his proposed infrastructure spending plan.Discussions between the White House and Capito’s group were cordial, and Biden walked away feeling as though the negotiations ran their course and were in good faith, an administration source told Fox News. Talks broke down because Biden wanted Republicans to present a more significant number for infrastructure investments and because he felt their plan to pay for a proposed $1 trillion package lacked specifics.President Biden "informed Senator Capito today that the latest offer from her group did not,

Kamala Harris is under some kind of pressure. It's hard to say what, given the working thesis (first seen in a tweet by Newt Gingrich) that Joe Biden appointed her to the position of border czar because he knew she would do nothing. Here are some camera shots from the NBC News report on the television set: [Snip for pictures] She actually looks pretty lost, uncertain, way out of her comfort zone. Not ready for prime time.
