Democrats Melt Down After Pelosi’s Scheme
For “9/11 Style” Commission Fails

Democrats are going kicking and screaming into the long Memorial Day weekend after Senate Republicans successfully blocked a bill creating the sham “9/11 style” commission that was key to their plans of retaining control over Congress. The creation of this travesty went down by a score of 54-35 with Republicans using their first filibuster of the Biden era, an added indignity to Dems that will almost certainly fuel renewed efforts to eliminate the last remaining obstacle to one-party tyranny. The passage of the bill would have required ten GOP senators to slither into the enemy camp,

But... But... But... The Narrative! The Jan 6, 2021 incident at the U S Capitol was an absolute HORROR! It was worse than Pearl Harbor. It was worse than the burning of the Capitol by the British! It was far worse than 911. Congress persons were terrorized. Some of them are still in therapy. Hundreds of U S Capitol Police were Murdered. Well, tens of them. Well, a few of them. Well, actually a couple died, of causes unrelated to the HORROR. Armed Terrorists invaded the Capitol. They were armed with scarves and sweaters (Ashlii Babbitt) and their insurrection stopped by an alert gunman. They stole Pelosi's laptop. HORROR. One of them wore a bearskin rug. UGH. They even took selfies. What chutzpah. Remember the assassination of Lincoln. Worse than that. Remember the attempt to assassinate Truman by Puerto Rican terrorists? Worse than that. Remember the Alamo? Worse than that. Worst thing to ever happen to the United States. EVER. And it is all the fault of Donald J. Trump. This time we are going to prove it. Beyond doubt. Beyond question. He will go to jail for life. We have got him NOW. Except for the rascally republicans. They don't love America. We democrats love America. Wonderful Socialist America, which will soon be destroyed by going bankrupt like the Weimar Republic and Venezuela. Then Socialism will flourish, the State will vanish, and the proles will rule forever. Hail Marx.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and a number of House Democrats are plotting to put together a “select committee” in order to investigate the January 6th riots at the United States Capitol following a vote in the Senate that tanked Democrat hopes for a “January 6th Commission,” according to CNN.On Saturday, Democrats failed to marshal enough votes to overcome a filibuster, losing in an effort to create a “9/11-style commission” to investigate the origins of and security failures during the January 6th incident. Republicans voted against the commission, largely because of concerns that the Democrat-drafted bill would create a partisan committee rather than ensure a neutral investigation.

On this Memorial Day weekend, what does Vice President Kamala Harris decide to talk about in front of the Naval Academy’s graduating class? Solar power.“Just ask any Marine today, would she rather carry 20 pounds of batteries or solar panels, and I am positive, she will tell you a solar panel — and so would he,” she said.(And if you want to see media bias in action, ABC News added “said to applause.” In truth, there was silence, until Harris gave a little chuckle to prompt the crowd in “please clap” fashion.) Start with the pandering pronoun “joke.” Women have been members of the Navy and Marines for a century,

Texas Republicans dug in Saturday for a final weekend vote on new voting laws in the U.S., putting the last touches on a sweeping bill that would eliminate drive-thru voting, empower partisan poll watchers and limit voting on Sundays. The changes would need to be approved before midnight on Sunday, when the GOP-controlled Legislature wraps up a session dominated by Republicans muscling through staunchly conservative measures pertaining to guns, abortion and how race can be taught in public schools. But none have drawn backlash like Senate Bill 7, which Republicans packed with a raft of new voting laws that would alter how the country's biggest red state conducts elections.

Of all the reactions to Paul Ryan’s speech Thursday at the Reagan Library in California, I thought the funniest was the one titled “Paul Ryan Begins to Re-emerge.” I found that idea funny because the speech I heard signaled the opposite: not burgeoning “re-emergence” on to the political stage but, on the contrary, an almost comical confirmation of obscurity. Ryan is a careful man, well-pressed, armed with all the best clichés, and utterly feckless. He salted his talk with plenty of gems calculated to appeal to conservatives. He appealed early and often to the ghost of Ronald Reagan—understandable given the auspices of his talk.

It’s not an accident that most Americans are just starting to hear about the lab leak theory of COVID-19 origin as a potential legitimate source for the global pandemic’s outbreak. It’s because the theory was suppressed for more than a year by corporate media fact-checkers and their allies in Big Tech. The pages of The New York Times and The Washington Post have been filled with articles in recent weeks about the newfound potential legitimacy of the lab-leak theory. Obama earned rightful derision for the fact that, no matter the occasion, his tweets were always about Obama. Memorably, when he marked the 58th anniversary of Rosa Parks's refusal to sit on the back of the bus, his tweet, rather than picturing Parks, pictured Obama on the bus, gazing wistfully out the window. However, at least he acknowledged the occasion. Kamala Harris took things to a whole new level when her Memorial Day tweet had a picture of her smiling, along with the breezy message to “Enjoy the long weekend.” Of course, Memorial Day is not just an opportunity for a three-day weekend.

It’s the jab or the job. Employers are allowed under federal law to require workers to get a COVID-19 vaccine before they can physically return to the workplace, according to updated guidance issued by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Friday. But they must provide “reasonable accommodations” for workers who refuse the shots because of a disability—including pregnancy—or for religious reasons, the agency said. The decision may mean unvaccinated employees could be required to wear masks, or to work remotely. The EEOC’s rules also gave the green light to companies offering incentives as a means of encouraging staffers to get vaccinated,
