About a year ago, a cop arrested, handcuffed and foolishly killedftnt a violent career criminal, drug addict, thief, robber and ex-con named George Floyd who was high on fentanyl and methamphetamine. Last week on the anniversary of Floyd’s death, the left marked the day. Not with mournful candlelight vigils as civilized people might, but by celebrating in the usual Third World way by shooting guns into the air, into windows and into other people. The left lives for these tragedies. It gives them an excuse to go out rioting, and they did.

Comments:

Yes, I take them at their word. They want to burn it down.

I really am sick of Beaton going along with the lies of the Enemedia. "and foolishly killed..." NO, this absolutely counterfactual. Floyd was NOT harmed by anything that the police officers did. He died of a drug overdose.

There are more black criminals out there just waiting for their chance to strike it rich by breaking the law, disobeying a police officers orders, and then be handcuffed all while fighting the police the every step of the way. They're ready to say the police need reform. Not the black inner culture that produces such criminals, but the police for doing their jobs.

The left applauds this anarchy and likes to think they are “sticking it to the man”. They don’t realize that “the man” will cease creating jobs and starting businesses if he gets burned out and looted every few months. If we have more riots and looking (a sure bet)

Number 1: I think you're letting your tribalism do your thinking for you. It was not simply a coincidence that at the time Floyd died his neck was under the knee of the cop. And there was no legitimate need for that knee on his neck even when he was handcuffed. I can scorn BLM and support the police without defending this particular cop. There are a few (very few) bad cops out there. Defending them plays right into the hands of BLM and the left.

My uber prog niece kept posting pictures of Floyd with wings and halo on her instagram. She lives in New York State in a very affluent suburb where crime is pretty well non existent. She never has had to deal with people like Floyd and it's quite easy for her to virtue signal.

I'm troubled that so many conservatives think that because Floyd and the BLM are bad, that makes the cop good. It doesn't. That sort of thinking is pure tribalism. It's as bad as the left's tribalism, where they think that because what the cop did was bad, that makes Floyd and the BLM good. Here's a more nuanced judgment, but only slightly, for those insist on simplicity: (1) BLM is bad, (2) Floyd was a thug, and (3) the cop was a fool. To defend the cop by denying (3) is, itself, foolish and plays right into the hands of the left by permitting them to paint conservatives as defenders of foolish (or racist) white violence against black men.

A fawning “report” in the Aspen Daily News breathlessly announced more federal COVID funds for Glitter Gulch, otherwise known as Aspen, Colorado. To be exact, $538,073. You know the place. Where the house pictured above just sold for $72 million, and houses routinely go for $3-5,000/sq ft. Where insiders such as newspaper reporters and city council members get slope-side multimillion dollar homes for dimes on the dollars under the taxpayer-subsidized housing program. The fed money this time is for Aspen’s vagrants.

A recent Gallup poll showed that most Americans think it’s time to move on from the pandemic. But not the Democrats. Democrats say by a 71-29% margin that we still should not “live normal lives”, but instead should “try to stay at home.” That’s despite the fact that the COVID death rate in America is down nearly 90%, the new cases are down about 65%, over half of Americans have been vaccinated (and over 80% of the vulnerable ones) by vaccines shown to be 95% effective, and even the redoubtable (or perhaps doubtable) Dr. Fauci says we can go out now. So what gives?
Why do black African immigrants do

Millions of sub-Saharan blacks seek to immigrate to America. They apparently haven’t gotten the memo that this is a wretched land of systemic anti-black racism. When they get here, they’re strangers in a strange land. English is usually not their first language. Their skin color tends to be very black, not the lighter color of American blacks who have an average of about 25% white blood in them. Despite those handicaps, they do better than American-born blacks. Compared to American-born blacks, their income is about a third higher, their poverty rates are significantly lower, their educational achievement is higher, and their marriage rate is double.

“. . . leftists are morally disordered people . . . . perhaps the best way to prepare yourself for contending with them is to pretend you’re dealing with Satan.” — Selwyn Duke “Pretend”? Satan may not be much more to you than a medieval caricature, looming large only in the minds of 17th century Puritans. The European Enlightenment, after all, disinfected such bogeymen with the light of Reason. But one is tempted to ask, to what end? As Goethe wryly observed in Faust, thanks to The Enlightenment “The Evil One is gone, the evil ones remain.” Who is this dude Satan?

Early in the pandemic, Dr. Fauci said, “there’s no reason to be walking around wearing a mask.” He said masks might cause more harm than good. In the kind of pirouette for which he’s now famous, Fauci later told us all to wear masks indoors and out. Fauci himself starting wearing two at a time. (Why not three?) His baffled boss, Joe Biden, wears them for Zoom calls – even though he’s been fully vaccinated. As it turned out, Fauci lied about his reason for initially telling us not to wear masks. The real reason was that he wanted to save them for doctors such as himself.

It seems the provocative platitudes we’ve seen on bumper stickers for a century have now taken root in our yards. And for the same reason: To tell the world that the sign-planter holds wonderful beliefs that he’s willing to impose upon and attribute to the rest of his family. It’s surely not because the sign-planter thinks he’s persuading anyone of the rightness of his position, as if the neighbors reading the sign will say to themselves, “Gee, ‘Democracy dies in darkness’ is a great point. I’d never thought of it that way.”

There is something you need to know because it is of overwhelming importance to America’s survival as a constitutional democratic republic: The Biden administration is moving inexorably to making it a crime to oppose Biden and the Democrat party’s policies. Attorney General Merrick Garland is organizing a massive task force to hunt those illusory “White supremacists,” who just happen to be Trump supporters. Moreover, the federal charging documents against many of those being held for trespassing in Congress reveal that some of the people most active in planning January 6 and encouraging others to act were FBI agents or informants. In other words, it was a set-up.
