A Los Angeles federal courtroom was riveted Tuesday as Cindy Warmbier, mother of Otto Warmbier, gave a heartfelt plea of support to protect the life of a former U.S. Marine who was arrested for being an activist against North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s regime. Christopher Ahn faces extradition to Spain as a member of the group advocating freedom for North Korea. His supporters fear he could be killed by Kim Jong Un if the Biden administration continues to press a request by Spanish authorities to send him back to Madrid to face charges. No decision on his extradition was made, but lawyers have

Fox is incapable of writing coherent articles, but the Warmbiers - whose son Otto was arrested, tortured, and finally sent home to die - are now supporting this former Marine who took part in an effort to help a North Korean diplomat defect in Spain. Not a parallel to Otto, who was a student traveling in North Korea, but the Warmbiers see this man suffering the same fate if he is extradited.

Thanks for the explanation #1. This story was on Fox News this morning and I couldn't fully understand it. Thought I was just sleepy.

Based on where it comes from, this is one plea Biden should listen to.

Biden will "decide" what to do as soon as the Chinese tell him.

Let's review the bidding: Ahn is charged with breaking into the North Korean embassy in Madrid to help a diplomat defect.
FTA: "Videos viewed by Fox News show the activists calmly walking into the embassy, and one sitting in an office having a quiet chat with a member of Kim's diplomatic corps. One unidentified activist takes the official photos of Kim Jong Un and his father, Kim Jong Il, from the wall and smashes the portraits on the floor." AND: "When Ahn returned to the United States, his lawyers say he and his fellow activists gave the FBI computer thumb drives, computer discs and other sensitive material that they had taken from the North Korean offices."
The "rescue" operation fell apart when the target decided not to go...then it becomes a worse problem.
The charges are: illegal entry, assault, illegal confinement, and being part of a criminal organization. At the least he was recipient of stolen property. He doesn't deny his involvement in the plot. “I’m just a guy who was trying to do the right thing,” he said. Embassies are sacred ground. Spain is stuck in the middle.
Remember all the folks clamoring here to send back the woman who killed the kid in England to stand trial there? And, Mr. Ahn does not have diplomatic immunity. Stupidity, even if principled, has a price.

Can you say "Elian Gonzalez"?
Christopher Ahn has about as much chance to live in freedom - - as poor, little Elian did. Commies always stick together - - humanity be damned!

This felt like reading TWO articles shuffled together, one about somebody named Otto Warmbier and another about some Chris Ahm guy. There is a conceptual connection; but it shouldn't take several paragraphs to point that out.
I only clicked to try to make sense of the confusing lede. Thanks to #1 for providing some clarification.

I couldn’t help but note that FAUX News put a backhanded slap to President Trump by noting it was “the Trump Justice Department….” Let’s make one thing absolutely clear, there was no part of the Executive Branch that was President Trump’s. It was littered with the most vile people in our nation who did everything they could to destroy him and us.
I pray that wisdom prevails over this farce. This man is dead if he is ever sent to Spain or anywhere else.

Take your time proceeding. Lose some paper work, ask for clarification, etc. Easily could take 20 or 40 years to sort out. If anyone whines, mention the US Serviceman who was killed by an ax in the DMZ zone, by one of the filthy North Korean scum and use those exact words. Every insane North Korean communist should be trembling in fear of imminent death every second of their worthless lives. All of them are a scourge on humanity as they torture millions every day of every year we turn a blind eye to their evil. For them to have the brass to threaten us says it all about the decades of US 'leadership.' As for Spain, who cares what they want?
