The body of U.S. Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick wasn’t even cold before his employer leveraged his untimely death to stoke more outrage about the events in the nation’s capital on January 6. “At approximately 9:30 p.m. this evening . . . United States Capitol Police Officer Brian D. Sicknick passed away due to injuries sustained while on-duty,” read a press release issued January 7. (snip) The agency intentionally included the word “homicide” to suggest Sicknick was killed by homicidal Trump supporters. CORRECTION*

They are not real LEOs but payrollers with political connections. I suspect the vast majority of them are black and eager to lie or distort actual events to further their racial agendas.

What has happened to our country that so many people in our government can be so easily bought and paid for? I did read, though, that many Capitol Police have left the organization; maybe they just could not stand the dishonesty.

My son tried for a position with the Capitol Police back in 2019. Many of the people in his group were ex military, and hardly the leftist type. I've read several comments about the Capitol Police from former officers. They have stated that the Capitol Police organization is bias toward minorities and that officers are promoted due to their race, and not abilities or past experience. It's why they these officers left the force. They see the leaders of the Capitol Police as politically motivated toward what would we see now as being woke.

The USCP work for the Speaker and Senate Majority Leader. They are excepted from "open records" and "freedom of information" rules, regulations and laws. Pressuring the Department will get nothing. Go after Pelosi and Schumer with Capitol hallway demonstrations, dressed in bloody shirts with chants and sitdown/dragouts screaming of the pain of the police making arrests...but that might go on someone's permanent record. Why does the "left" always "win"?

Capitol Police work for whichever party is in the majority.
They work for Pelosi and if they want to keep their jobs they do as she says.
It's a really crappy situation, but the fact is they have to bow to the political wind.
They are more Security Guards and Body Guards than a real Police Force.

Disgusting:
In exchange for USCPs subservience, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) wants to reward USCP in a $1.9 billion emergency appropriations bill that barely passed the House last week. The kickback includes more than $60 million in new funding for the department, including $31 million in overtime pay, nearly $7 million for “hazard pay,” and more than $6 million for retention bonuses and tuition credits.
Another $4.4 million would help create a “Wellness and Trauma” support program named after a Capitol Police officer who reportedly committed suicide a few days after the protest. USCP issued another press release on January 10 announcing the off-duty death of Officer Howard Liebengood, which became another talking point to bolster the description of a so-called “deadly insurrection.”
But USCP does not deserve an infusion of new tax dollars. Rather, it deserves to face harsh scrutiny from congressional Republicans and the news media for its conduct over the past few months.

Why did a Capitol Police Officer commit suicide 2 days after the 1/6? Could he have been the one that shot Ashli Babbitt? Why can 2 police officers sue Donald Trump, based just on their opinions? This whole thing is a joke...but then again, that's all the democrats have. They have no ideas or programs to help the general American population, like Trump did, and carried out while in office.

About the officer who committed suicide, the Chicago Tribune article said there was no evidence of connection to January 6 protests.
From CBS:
In a letter sent to Virginia Representative Jennifer Wexton and obtained by CBS News, Serena Liebengood wrote that her husband was ordered to remain on duty "practically around the clock" for three days following the insurrection and "was severely sleep deprived" before his death on January 9.
"The Liebengood family wants Howie's death to not have been in vain," she wrote. She called on UCSP to designate her husband's death as "in the line of duty," and wrote "the UCSP must be held accountable for its actions and structural reforms instituted" to address the mental health of its officers.
It was classified as being off-duty. The circumstances (benefits) change considerably when it is classified as being in the line of duty. That change in classification is obviously his wife’s goal.

Well #2, when you have the government union keeping you from getting demoted for stupidity or even fired EVER even for a murder (Ashli) you will never attract the best people. The retired federal govt folks we know talk about new hires not being the best or brightest going back to the Dubya administration. The well-connected, minorities, foreigners all had fast track to employment.

Why do they win...
Well #10, you know the answer. There is no real opposition political party. We ask the same questions and bemoan GOP cowardice and inaction as we did here during Clinton years. The change comes from WTP. Its not coming from the GOP establishment. When I listen to my TX GOP Chairman Allen West, his words sometimes tell me he understands that now too. I can hear the frustration in his voice.
