A year after the death of George Floyd, elected officials of major cities are walking back commitments to cut police funding amid spiking crime rates. Elected leaders in places such a Minneapolis, New York City, and Los Angeles are now pushing to increase funding to police departments after months of budget cuts and low morale have gutted law enforcement ranks. At the same time, major cities across the U.S. are suffering spikes in violent crime.“The violence needs to stop, its unacceptable. People deserve to feel safe in their neighborhood, they deserve to be able to send their kids out to the sidewalk to play and to recreate without bullets flying by.

Believing that defunding the police will improve public safety is like thinking that shooting Smokey the Bear will prevent forest fires.. Democrats are intellectual troglodytes.

Well my goodness !! I just said what they wanted to hear and just did what they said they wanted done. Now they complain that what they ask for isn’t what they want so I’ll give them what they ask for. I’m a Dim leader. I just want to benefit from being a leader. So i just lead where the mob points. It’s just easier and more profitable that way.

Lie-berals are totally incapable of comprehending logic, reason, and facts. They only make decisions based on how something feels. That is why they do insane things like defunding the police -- because it feels like the right thing to do to them. Because it feels that way to them, they are so certain that things are just going to turn out wonderfully!!! Conservatives make decisions based on logic, reason, and facts. We could have told the lie-berals (and we did tell them) exactly what would happen if they did something so illogical as to defund the police, but they wouldn't have been will or able to comprehend what we told them. Actions have consequences, but you can only understand that if you comprehend logic, reason, and facts -- which, sadly, so many lie-berals in positions of power simply cannot do!!!

FTA ... “When you make big, overarching statements that we’re going to defund or abolish and dismantle the police department and get rid of all the officers, there’s an impact to that,” Sure thing Mister Mayor 1. Your police retire or quit before they end up in jail for murder. 2. When you try to hire new cops nobody wants the job 3. After being decimated by your idiocy there are not enough patrol cops and your crime rate goes through the roof. 4. When your crime rate goes through the roof decent people move elsewhere and you have a city of criminals (see Baltimore). 5. When you have a city of criminals you lose your job and have a criminal mayor instead of an idiot. 6. You move out.

Republicans can not let democrats off the hook for their desire to defund the police. Needs to be highlighted throughout the entire 2022 election campaign to illustrate how reckless and easily manipulated they can be at the expense of average voters, citizens, and businesses.

Law enforcement will need more than money. They will need moral support from politicians, community leaders and the public at large. There are some politicians that need to lose their jobs - be fired! - before things get better. The decision to defund the police were themselves criminal acts and there must be accountability before things get better. The community needs to know that the police will be supported that that assaults on the police, either physically or in the media, will be met with fierce opposition from the public.

These cities will now find out that it is a lot harder to add the money back into the budget and grow the police department back to where it needs to be than they think. It will also be very difficult for the police to once again trust the city government to not treat them like a political football. It will also be very difficult to repair the relationship and trust between the community and the police which has been destroyed by the politicians pandering and the liberal media blowing "police brutality" out of proportion. Fixing things will take a long time and crime will continue to rise. Politicians, criminals, and liberal activists who created the problem will escape blame. They will blame the understaffed police departments.

Since police deal with the scum of society on a regular basis, they need to act and react in different ways than your everyday civilized human. Therefore, restrictions that hamper their ability to perform their jobs in a way that everyday people don't have to, puts them and the general public in danger. While the optics of kneeling on a person's neck looks bad, it may have been the only way to subdue a person loaded up on drugs and who has a criminal record. There are numerous videos of drug suspects acting in ways that even three or four officers have a hard time controlling. Again police deal with the scum that everyone else tries to avoid.

If I were a police officer or a chief of police, it would be very hard for me not to walk away from the job. I realize their livelihood is involved, but given the way these men and women have been treated by some citizens AND even elected officials at the highest levels, they must think long and hard about whether police work is worth their lives and reputations. Are there bad cops? Sure. Some. Probably just a few. Should they be punished if they do wrong? You bet. But the good ones do not deserve to be treated like garbage -- shot at like tin cans in target practice by illegally armed thugs. To hell with Biden, Pelosi, Schumer, Obama, and Hillary! To hell with the Democrat Party! Stop them from creating hell for the rest of us. They are just funders and supporters of the THUGS!

Reporters joke that the easiest job in Washington is CIA spokesman. You need only listen carefully to questions, say, “No comment,” and head to happy hour. The joke, however, is on us. The reporters pretend to see only one side of the CIA, the passive hiding of information. They meanwhile profit from the other side of the equation, active information operations designed to influence events in America. It is 2021 and the CIA is running an op against the American people. Leon Panetta, once director of CIA, explained bluntly that the agency influenced foreign media outlets ahead of elections in order to “change attitudes within the country.”

Americans can’t escape from blue states fast enough. Even before the COVID pandemic, they were fleeing Democrat-led states for red ones in droves. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, between 2010 and 2019, California, New York, New Jersey, Michigan, and Illinois lost a combined four million residents. Meanwhile, the top five states that saw the greatest influx of new residents were the Republican-led states of Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Ohio, and Arizona. It does not hurt that Florida, Texas, and Tennessee also have no income tax. But the pandemic, in conjunction with disastrous Democrat policies, has only accelerated the blue-state exodus.

On Wednesday, the House of Representatives passed a resolution authorizing a probe into the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. All too predictably, the “National Commission to Investigate the January 6 Attack on the United States Capitol Complex Act” (HR 3233) would be neither bipartisan nor independent. The Democratic chairperson of the commission would enjoy unilateral power to appoint staff and set the investigation’s parameters without meaningful consultation with the Republican co-chair. Even worse, the “compromise” that created HR 3233 was cobbled together by Reps. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) and John Katko (R-N.Y.), both of whom already voted in January to impeach then-President Trump for inciting “insurrection.”

Opposing the commission, which is the closest we might get to a truly bipartisan account of the insurrection, is the wrong thing for the country but the right thing for the party. So naturally Senate Republicans seem increasingly determined to oppose it, notwithstanding the surprising mini-revolt yesterday by the House GOP. Any attempt to beat a filibuster and pass the House bill to create a commission begins with the seven Republicans who voted to convict Trump in February, but two of those seven sound like they’re voting no — and one of them might be unmovable.

Last month, we had the opportunity to visit our southern border and see this migrant crisis firsthand. While we were there, we saw a 5-year-old girl all alone. She was in tears – not knowing where she is or where her family may have gone. Children were crammed into overcrowded facilities, huddled on the hard ground with only a silver, solar blanket to keep warm. Ten percent of the children were COVID-positive. Everywhere we looked, we saw children who were, quite simply put, traumatized. The Customs and Border Protection agents informed us that they are overworked, underfunded and demoralized.
