Endgame? Susan Collins says she won't vote
for January 6 commission without changes

Original Article

Opposing the commission, which is the closest we might get to a truly bipartisan account of the insurrection, is the wrong thing for the country but the right thing for the party. So naturally Senate Republicans seem increasingly determined to oppose it, notwithstanding the surprising mini-revolt yesterday by the House GOP. Any attempt to beat a filibuster and pass the House bill to create a commission begins with the seven Republicans who voted to convict Trump in February, but two of those seven sound like they’re voting no — and one of them might be unmovable.

If there was ANY chance this commission might produce an objective factual account of events, Pelosi would oppose it. It’s just another endless Mueller “investigation”, version 2.0. Objective is to undermine Trump and all voters who the Dems and Deep State deplore ahead of the 2022 and 2024 elections.

The first sentence of the article is BS. The commission would only be of value if it also investigated the riots of last year.

Mueller investigation?! Where is it? What is it doing? I cringe whenever I recall Hannity and others on FOX proclaiming with absolute certainty that several indictments will eventually result from his investigation. RIGHT!!!! I believe his investigation is frittering away like a puff of smoke in a strong wind and will account for nothing other than an immense waste of money and untold hundreds of thousands of wasted manhours. No one paying the slightest amount of attention can reasonably believe that the Biden DOJ will do anything toward prosecuting any Democrat. I will not be surprised if there in no written Report from Mueller. The Obama created DOJ deep state, including the FBI, is far wider and deeper than anyone could reasonable imagine. It's rotten to the core and probably beyond repair.

It's as if all the Senate Republicans got in a bus, driven by Susan Collins, and headed for the appliance warehouse out in the 'burbs. The sign said ''All Appliances are Broken.'' Senate Republicans then decided to buy dozens of them. Their motto became ''If they're broke, buy several.''

Is this writer an establishment Republican and, therefore/ a de facto member of the Uniparty? The idea that a truthful account of the events of Jan 6 will come out of this "investigation" is a crock. You'd think he/she is talking about the Demonrats with the notion of choosing what's good for the party over what's good for the country. That's what leftists do constantly. It's all about their quest for power, regardless of what's good for the country. That is not generally true of Republicans. And left-leaning Susan Collins is hardly a representative Republican

My intention today was to write about the city of Portland’s decision to start cleaning up homeless camps after a year of doing next to nothing about them during the pandemic. But as I was looking at stories about that issue I kept seeing other stories about things happening recently in the city that were pretty shocking. It’s hard not to read this stuff and get the impression the city is really just dealing with a level of chaos it hasn’t seen in decades. Let’s start with this. Monday a small group of four to five teenagers apparently woke up and decided to launch a brazen crime spree

The charge of apartheid is the new blood libel. As Hamas rains rocket down on Israeli civilians, members of the Squad in the US Congress and other left-wing enemies of the Jewish state are using the occasion to amplify their accusation that Israel is an “apartheid state.” This is a transparent attempt to delegitimize — and isolate and ultimately destroy — the Jewish state by associating it with a racist regime that the world united to squeeze out of existence. Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) says that Israel is “promoting racism and dehumanization”

Last month, we had the opportunity to visit our southern border and see this migrant crisis firsthand. While we were there, we saw a 5-year-old girl all alone. She was in tears – not knowing where she is or where her family may have gone. Children were crammed into overcrowded facilities, huddled on the hard ground with only a silver, solar blanket to keep warm. Ten percent of the children were COVID-positive. Everywhere we looked, we saw children who were, quite simply put, traumatized. The Customs and Border Protection agents informed us that they are overworked, underfunded and demoralized.

It seems to be a bit of a struggle for Team Biden to get on the same page between prioritizing energy pipelines and the sudden move to ditch masks amid the coronavirus pandemic. As the country worries about the recent Colonial Pipeline hack, causing gas prices to skyrocket and putting national security at risk, the administration continues to portray the incident as a nonissue while pushing the vitality of pipelines for fuel transportation. Meanwhile, Biden’s harsh cancellation of the Keystone XL Pipeline was fully supported by his inner circle, including Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Jennifer Granholm, who defended the president’s decision during her Jan. 27 confirmation hearing.

Aday before Arizona Senate President Karen Fann's special meeting on the Maricopa County election audit, county officials tried to portray the Republican leader's effort as amateurish at best. The Board of Supervisors came out swinging Monday in their own special meeting responding to Fann's allegations that contractors found significant irregularities as well as missing data in the ongoing audit. Maricopa County's Twitter feed joined the fray, sharing portions from a formal letter signed by the five supervisors, Recorder Stephen Richer and Sheriff Paul Penzone, responding to Fann's May 12 letter. The Senate president was not happy to learn about the letter from a reporter who had an early print copy.

America is still grappling with the issues that plagued a divisive 2020 election. In that election cycle, Democratic politicians and left-wing lawyers launched a multi-state assault on election security laws that gave unprecedented and unconstitutional authority to non-legislative actors to change election laws. Now, Democrats are doubling-down on their efforts to undermine election security with H.R. 1, the so-called “For the People Act,” a bill that would federalize state elections while sweeping away state election integrity efforts. Rather than using the slimmest majority in modern history to enact bills that would fix problems in our election system, Democrats seem maniacally focused on making sure

America, something is wrong. At a moment when people should be feeling upbeat, liberated and hopeful, optimism has cratered. How could that happen? Maybe it’s because the country has awakened to this: Donald Trump is no longer in the White House creating offensive tweets, but instead we have Joe Biden there creating offensive policies. That’s the trade-off American voters chose on Nov. 3. The just-released University of Michigan monthly survey showed consumer sentiment slumping to 82.3 in May from 88.3 in April, the lowest reading since February and below analysts’ forecasts. Consumers’ expectations about the future also plummeted, to 77.6 from 82.7 in April.

When the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that fully vaccinated people can safely participate in both indoor and outdoor activities without wearing face masks, it was good news for most Americans. In addition to a sense of vindication for those of us who object to post-vaccination masking, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky’s statement provided another much-needed service — it forced the metastasizing mask cult to reveal itself as a coalition of anti-science zealots and petty tyrants. A typical example of their collective response to the CDC guidance appeared in the Washington Post under the title, “The CDC shouldn’t have removed restrictions without requiring proof of vaccination.”

What a difference a decade makes. Just over ten years ago, on July 25, 2010, Wikileaks released 75,000 secret U.S. military reports involving the war in Afghanistan. The New York Times, The Guardian, and Der Spiegel helped release the documents, which were devastating to America’s intelligence community and military, revealing systemic abuses that included civilian massacres and an assassination squad, TF 373, whose existence the United States kept “protected” even from its allies. The Afghan War logs came out at the beginning of a historic stretch of true oppositional journalism, when outlets like Le Monde, El Pais, Der Spiegel, The Guardian, The New York Times, and others partnered with sites like Wikileaks.

Democrats have been flogging the image of Kamala Harris for more than six months, trying to show Americans why she should be popular, and the public isn’t buying it.The efforts and the expectations of success by Democrats say a lot about the party and their myopic view of the voters, which has cost them dearly during the last three national elections. A party that tells most voters they’re “racist” and says those same ordinary people must be cleansed of their “systemic racism” and delusions of “white supremacy” shouldn’t have to wonder why people don’t like them very much. But the Democrats keep doubling down — as they did with Harris.

Oregon has gone from a liberal hell hole to 1930s Germany overnight. The Oregon Health Authority is now requiring businesses and religious institutions to enforce mask mandates by forcing people to show proof of vaccination. The CDC last week updated its mask guidance and said fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear masks indoors. In order to prevent the unvaccinated from walking around unmasked, Oregon health officials are now creating a caste system by marking the unvaxxed lepers. “Businesses, employers and faith institutions now have the option to adjust their masking guidance to allow fully vaccinated individuals to no longer wear a mask in their establishments,” OHA’s website said.

A critical race studies and ethnic studies professor at the University of Colorado-Boulder says Americans wondering why Black citizens commit anti-Asian hate crimes have an answer: “White supremacy.” The educational watchdog Campus Reform spotlighted the commentary of Jennifer Ho, which preceded President Biden’s newly signed legislation aimed at combatting hate crimes against Asian Americans. “Anti-Asian racism has the same source as anti-Black racism: White supremacy,” Ms. Ho wrote for The Conversation. “So when a Black person attacks an Asian person, the encounter is fueled perhaps by racism, but very specifically by White supremacy. White supremacy does not require a White person to perpetuate it.”

It seems like a crazy urban legend: In China, drivers who have injured pedestrians will sometimes then try to kill them. And yet not only is it true, but it’s also fairly common; security cameras have regularly captured drivers driving back and forth on top of victims to make sure that they are dead. The Chinese language even has an adage for the phenomenon: “It is better to hit to kill than to hit and injure.” In contrast in our country, BLM regularly blocks roads and in most situations, the drivers are the ones that took the hit.

Dishonesty and hypocrisy surrounding Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s (D) secret “personal” trip to Florida are threatening the one-time rising star’s political future. Like other Democrat governors, Whitmer opted to impose harsh restrictions in an attempt to deal with the coronavirus in 2020. After a spike in cases towards the end of the year, she reimposed many orders through her Department of Health and Human Services after her executive orders were ruled unconstitutional in October. In early April 2021, as coronavirus variants were growing around the country, Whitmer warned Michiganders not to go to Florida for spring break.
