Some House Republicans
now refusing to wear masks,
defying Pelosi rule

Original Article

It’s the trollish MAGA slice of the caucus that’s championing this, but for once they have Pelosi at a disadvantage. Why, precisely, are House members still being asked to mask up on the floor? The CDC’s new guidance says that vaccinated people no longer need to wear masks, even indoors. According to CNN, every last Democrat in the House and Senate has been vaxxed. If everyone in the chamber unmasks, the only people who are at risk are unvaccinated Republicans.

Comments:

"Some" House Pubbies? Why not ALL House Pubbies? Maybe it's because most of them are gutless, spineless jellyfish? Yes - - I'll bet that's the reason.

Watch it! Nasty Nancy is probably going to start tossing those rebellious Republicans in the DC jails along with the other political prisoners she's been stashing there since January.

If you are busted for not wearing a mask do the gendarmes force you to put a mask on for the mugshot? Was in a supermarket yesterday and I was the only one without a mask. Felt guilty so I held a handkerchief over my snooze.

Is the "trollish MAGA slice" an official caucus within the GOP caucus? If I were in Congress, this is the caucus I'd join.

About #3; I walked into my local Walmart yesterday with no mask. The greeter told me to put one on. I shook my head and just kept going. After that, nobody said “boo.” My attitude was, as I looked around the store, “What’s wrong with you people?”

I was in the grocery store too yesterday (deep blue Chicago) and was the only one not wearing a mask. I just smiled and continued shopping! There is no logic to having the vaccination and still wearing mask, whatever crazy politicians might try to enforce.

I went to Earth Fare yesterday - it’s a less elitist version of Whole Foods and a lot less expensive. I was the only person in the store without a mask and no one said a word to me though I chatted with the guy behind the deli counter and the cashier. On another note, I had my annual physical this morning and my GP did not ask if I had been vaccinated, did not try to give me a flu shot or a pneumonia shot or a covid shot and, in fact, never even mentioned covid at all. I love living in a red state!

Only Democrats should wear masks. That should be compulsory. No Republican should wear a mask, and if they do, they should be purged as a RINO.

Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors was identified in a press release as co-chair of an art company that has profited from several activist groups that call Cullors a co-founder and leader, which charity experts say amounts to self-dealing and raises ethical and legal questions. Black Lives Matter (BLM) Global Network Foundation, BLM PAC and Reform LA Jails — three activist groups Cullors claims to have co-founded and led — have provided business to the art company, Trap Heals, the Daily Caller News Foundation previously reported. Trap Heals was founded and run by Damon Turner, the father of Cullors’ only child, the DCNF found.

Black and Hispanic Americans are statistically underrepresented among those receiving COVID-19 vaccinations, according to data compiled by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention — a demographic reality overlooked in the ongoing media focus on rural white aversion to the vaccines as the stumbling block to national vaccination goals. As of May 15, black Americans constituted only 8.9% of those who received at least one dose of the vaccine despite being 12.4% of the U.S. population.

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Sunday called the violent conflict between Israel and Gaza militants “utterly appalling” and urged for an immediate ceasefire, as the worst outbreak of fighting in years stretches into seven days and takes a heavy toll on civilians. “This latest round of violence only perpetuates the cycles of death, destruction and despair, and pushes farther to the horizon any hopes of coexistence and peace,” Guterres said during a U.N. Security Council meeting.

New York police are investigating what they claim is a potential “hate crime” after a Catholic church in Brooklyn saw a large crucifix toppled and an American flag burned earlier this week. The Diocese of Brooklyn said in a statement that a statute of the Crucifixtion of Jesus “was found toppled over and lying face down” at St. Athanasius Roman Catholic Church in Bensonhurst on Friday morning. “The statue of Jesus, the cross, and the display were all damaged in what is being investigated by the NYPD as a hate crime,” the Diocese said.

Nearly 25,000 migrant children were in the custody of the government, apart from their families, in early May. The number of unaccompanied migrant children in the federal government's care is at an all-time high, easily eclipsing the corresponding total in 2018 when the Trump administration pursued a policy that led to the intentional separation of children from their families, eliciting major controversy. The situation underscores the severity of the crisis facing President Joe Biden early in his administration and the moral quandary he faces.

The vote in the House over whether to create a “January 6th Commission” has ended. The bill passed, which is expected given who runs the chamber. What wasn’t as expected (or perhaps it was?) is that 35 Republicans joined hands with their Democrat colleagues, agreeing to walk headlong into a partisan buzzsaw. This per The Daily Caller. The House of Representatives passed a bill Wednesday that would create a bipartisan, 9/11-style commission into the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, with dozens of Republicans joining Democrats in a rebuke of GOP leadership. The bill passed 252 to 175 with support from 35 Republicans, even though top GOP leaders opposed it and

Joe Biden has had his 100-day honeymoon. People were bound to start complaining eventually. But then something at the gas station caught my attention. Thomas Lifson caught the fact that Biden made a joke that would have sent journalists screaming to their psychiatrists had President Trump made it: When they asked about Israel, he said he’d run them over. Sharp-eyed observers noted that his steering wheel didn’t control the tires and believe that someone else was driving the car.
