Members of the Grammy-winning rap group The Roots are teaming up with Disney Junior for several animated short films aimed at teaching kids aged 2 to 7 about race, racism, and social justice issues. The project, entitled Rise Up, Sing Out, is set to be executive produced by The Roots members Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson and Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter. “We hope these shorts will encourage the young audience to recognize and celebrate our differences as human beings while learning the tools to navigate real-world issues of racial injustice."

Comments:

You might remember the leader of this group, Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson. He's a Muslim who played the song, "Lyin' Ass B***h," when Republican Michele Bachmann appeared as a guest on the talk show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. I guess that Muslim men don't like strong, opinionated women.

remember in Plato's "Republic" the chapter where Socrates details "The Cave" as an instrument of learning? I took that Philosophy course in 1988 and never thought I'd see it come to reality. we are living in very ill-tempered times and we'd better alter our course or our children and grand-children will not have the country we had/have, wasn't/isn't perfect but better than living under or communist or muslim government. at this point in time, our government is our deadliest enemy under the demcommies.

An article in Taki, posted on the site on the 14th, made the observation that we are talking about Black Fragility here... Cue the 'A Few Good Men' quote. I've noticed that the left attacks on the right are projection. They tear apart Minneapolis and Portland but it's the Jan 6th protest that is insurrection; the others are 'mostly peaceful protests.' They want disparate treatment based on skin but we're the ones who are racist. All those 'White Fragility' labels? THEY'RE the fragile ones. And so, of course, indoctrination is necessary. Men can have babies. There's no difference in cultures and, yes, claims of racism need to be added to the indoctrination list.

Actions have consequences. Pro-crime policies work. [SNIP] Progressives in California in recent years have strengthened property rights—to other people’s property. Shoplifting has essentially been decriminalized, and retailers that apprehend thieves can be sued. The result: Another Walgreens store in San Francisco, the seventh this year, is closing after its shelves were cleared by looters. “All of us knew it was coming,” longtime customer Sebastian Luke told the San Francisco Chronicle. “Whenever we go in there, they always have problems with shoplifters.” Mr. Luke has been posting photos of the shoplifting sprees. “I feel sorry for the clerks, they are regularly being verbally assaulted,” he said.

Palestinians have rallied by the thousands after a cease-fire took effect in the latest Gaza war. The 11-day conflict left more than 200 dead — the vast majority Palestinians — and brought widespread devastation to the already impoverished Gaza Strip. The rocket barrages fired by Gaza's militant Hamas rulers that brought life to a standstill in much of Israel were seen by many Palestinians as a bold response to perceived Israeli abuses in Jerusalem. In turn, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday warned Hamas about coordinating further attacks. He said Israel would not tolerate any further rocket attacks from Hamas and would meet such aggression with a "new level of force."

Chicago's Mayor Lightfoot announced that she was taking a brief break from running the city into ground to limit interviews to "black and brown reporters". The media has rightfully condemned the move, but I have to ask, "Why?" Lightfoot's move is a cynical culture war distraction. Obviously. But she's doing something racist that has become routine in American life. 1. College admissions, employment, and government contracts have long been conditioned on race and skin color. 2. There's been a growing push to oust white authors in literature in favor of minority authors.

When the horse is dead, you should probably stop beating it. Jan 6 has been dead for a while. It paid off for a few months, but as we head toward June, House Democrats and their media still keep talking about some sort of bipartisan commission to investigate the Capitol Riot. If the Democrats want an investigation so badly, then they can include the May 31 protest. Or is an attack on the White House by Black Lives Matter somehow not serious enough to merit an investigation?

For many Americans, the violent clash between Israel and Hamas sparks an understandable sense of having seen it all before. While it’s true there is a long, bloody history between the combatants, the current fighting is unique in ways that make the endgame especially crucial for the Jewish state and the entire region. The most obvious change is that Hamas increased its rocket capacity, both in numbers and range. In previous battles, the relative handful of explosives launched from Gaza were a threat only to Israelis near the border. This time, more than 2,000 rockets and mortars have been fired.

For decades engineers have used petroleum to make everyday products. It's still commonly used in everything from rubbers and plastics to chemicals and asphalt. But this useful product comes from crude oil, which is often criticized by activists and experts as harmful to the environment, citing oil spills and fracking incidents. Recent studies from the last decade have shown that petroleum isn't as efficient as some once thought. Now, companies, engineers and scientists aim to replace it with plant-based oils, specifically soybeans. The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. recently announced its goal to replace all petroleum-based products with soybean oil by 2040.

Nearly 88% of children are set to receive the benefits without their parents needing to take any additional action. Qualified families will receive a payment of up to $300 per month for each child under 6 and up to $250 per month for children between the ages of 6 and 17.

They are in terror also that anti-Israelism is becoming synonymous with rank anti-Semitism. A party that tells most voters they’re “racist” and says those same ordinary people must be cleansed of their “systemic racism” and delusions of “white supremacy” shouldn’t have to wonder why people don’t like them very much. But the Democrats keep doubling down — as they did with Harris.

Oregon has gone from a liberal hell hole to 1930s Germany overnight. The Oregon Health Authority is now requiring businesses and religious institutions to enforce mask mandates by forcing people to show proof of vaccination. The CDC last week updated its mask guidance and said fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear masks indoors. In order to prevent the unvaccinated from walking around unmasked, Oregon health officials are now creating a caste system by marking the unvaxxed lepers. “Businesses, employers and faith institutions now have the option to adjust their masking guidance to allow fully vaccinated individuals to no longer wear a mask in their establishments,” OHA’s website said.

A critical race studies and ethnic studies professor at the University of Colorado-Boulder says Americans wondering why Black citizens commit anti-Asian hate crimes have an answer: “White supremacy.” The educational watchdog Campus Reform spotlighted the commentary of Jennifer Ho, which preceded President Biden’s newly signed legislation aimed at combatting hate crimes against Asian Americans. “Anti-Asian racism has the same source as anti-Black racism: White supremacy,” Ms. Ho wrote for The Conversation. “So when a Black person attacks an Asian person, the encounter is fueled perhaps by racism, but very specifically by White supremacy. White supremacy does not require a White person to perpetuate it.”
