American Airlines says it’s investigating a Texas-based pilot who spoke against an effort by his local school district to implement elements of critical race theory. Guy Midkiff of Southlake, Texas, has been flying for American Airlines for more than 30 years, according to the Dallas Morning News. His job remains uncertain, however, after he criticized a “Cultural Competence Action Plan” (CCAP) proposed by Carroll Independent School District online and in podcasts. The plan, which was developed by Carroll’s diversity council after white students were caught on video singing a rap song

I guess thinking is no longer required to fly a plane. Better to have those who feel using this or that control is the right thing to do, instead of being the best and brightest person who would be confident of giving quality, safe service.

Blacks are "caught on video" singing opera, doing ballet and playing classical music all the time, and no one ever says a word. Everyone in the world appropriates White culture and that seems to be perfectly fine. We are not "allowed" to do the same, however, and apparently we are not allowed to criticize whatever loony idea the left next tries to enforce upon us.

I've about come to the point where I might just take my Grandma's advice . When she was in her eighties , she would travel by Greyhound bus from coast to coast to visit her eleven children / about 75 grand/great grandchildren. When I asked her one day why she didn't just fly, she told me that "if the good Lord wanted me to get somewhere that fast, he would have started me out a lot closer".

It is amazing how many corporations have caved to the left and are trying to cancel anyone who disagrees with these horrible policies. I am just thankful that I have retired and don't have a career at risk to the whims of corporate overlords. It takes great courage to stand up for what is right when you must risk so much to do so. Liberty and justice are at great risk in the USA right now.

Facebook will no longer remove posts claiming the coronavirus is "man-made," it said Wednesday. In February, the tech giant said it would take down "debunked" claims that humans created the virus that causes COVID-19, but it has reversed its policy amid renewed interest in the virus' origins from scientists and politicians. "In light of ongoing investigations into the origin of COVID-19 and in consultation with public health experts, we will no longer remove the claim that COVID-19 is man-made from our apps," a Facebook representative told Insider in an emailed statement.

The news landed at the Texas Capitol last month like a bombshell: State police were investigating claims that a male lobbyist from one of the most influential firms in Austin had used a date rape drug on two female legislative staffers. The Capitol quickly swung into outrage mode. Female legislators wore pink in solidarity with the victims. The House speaker condemned the “disgusting, detestable allegations.” After the alleged culprit was identified, some legislators banned his firm, HillCo Partners, from their offices. And new laws requiring that lobbyists receive harassment training were proposed. Within a week, however, the Travis County district attorney and the Texas Department of Public Safety announced

President Joe Biden will unveil a $6 trillion budget proposal on Friday that would push federal spending to its highest sustained levels since World War II. Biden’s budget plan asks the federal government to spend $6 trillion in the 2022 fiscal year and for total spending to hit $8.2 trillion by 2031, according to documents first obtained by The New York Times. Should Biden’s budget be accepted by Congress, the federal government will spend more as a share of the economy each year than at any other time since World War II, with the exception of 2020 and 2021, which saw trillions in COVID-relief spending. The two programs fueling the massive

What can I say? I enjoy being vindicated. And I would like to thank Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Director Rachel Walensky for making me feel as if I am. Earlier this week, I wrote about a study that demonstrated that prepositions matter when discussing hospitalizations for COVID-19 among children. There is a difference between getting hospitalized with COVID-19 and getting hospitalized for COVID-19 in the hospitals studied. Reported data does not capture this crucial distinction, which likely applies to hospitalizations of children and adults nationwide, given the testing protocols and reimbursement incentives. I have been railing against the context-less reporting of death counts

Yesterday Jonathan Chait wrote a pretty good summary of how the media messed up the lab leak story early last year. The Washington Post’s fact-checker also published a timeline which attempted to tell the same story. Chait’s piece was good and the Post’s timeline was less so, mostly because it minimized how the Post itself helped launch the crusade against the idea. In any case, today Matt Yglesias wrote his own summary of the media history of this story which I think is the best one I’ve seen so far. Yglesias says it appears it all started with these comments from Sen. Cotton.

CNN reported Tuesday that the Biden administration shut down a State Department effort launched by then-Secretary Mike Pompeo to investigate the origin of the virus.

Setting his sights on the 2022 midterm elections, former President Donald Trump has begun crafting a policy agenda that echoes a historic Republican election victory under a Democratic president, the “Contract with America” in 1994. Trump has also brought in the man responsible for the 1994 midterm victories, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. In recent weeks, Trump has sat down with Gingrich, Mark Meadows (his former chief of staff and a former Republican congressman), and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) at Mar-a-Lago to begin crafting a document to spearhead 2022 Republican victories just as the Contract with America helped propel Republicans to majorities in both

John Kerry, the Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, is leading the Biden administration to push banks to help reduce the carbon emission in the United States, according to Axios. This has also been criticized by the Senate Republican lawmakers on the Banking Committee. All the Republicans already sent a letter to stop pressuring banks to make energy-related lending commitments. That answer was very troubling, I observed in our story on Psaki’s response. Is there an American investigation still ongoing into the question from the Biden team, I asked? Because it doesn’t sound like it, from what Psaki was saying — and because we surely can’t trust anything that WHO concludes on the matter, given their prior actions.
