Job fears, price spikes mean heartburn
for Biden White House as economy revs up

Original Article

High unemployment. Rising prices. Gas lines. They're a bad memory for Americans old enough to remember the 1970s - but they're also likely causing a few sleepless nights in the White House, as the United States' economic recovery from the unprecedented coronavirus recession hits some bumps. The jolts are dampening consumer confidence, ramping up inflation fears, and helping Republicans build their case against President Joe Biden and his ambitious plans to revamp the U.S. economy with trillions in new spending. As the 1970s show, high joblessness and rising prices the United States saw in April can be a potent political force.

Comments:

Mean Old Joe can't keep riding on Trump's successes.

It's FUBAR in America, brought to you by the progressive Democrats and China Joe Biden. And it only took 100 days. Time flies when you see the vandals inside the gates of America.

All of these thing-----all of the mistakes Joe Biden has made were predicted, and warned about. The destruction of America under Biden is no surprise. Helen Keller could see this coming. Only a mindless imbecile could have missed it.

The use of the word “heartburn” makes no sense to me. That implies (1) the WH cares (they don’t) and/or they fear consequences to their actions/policies. You’ve cheated your way into the game. Now you can cheat to STAY in the game. Indefinitely. Polls, news, statistics, facts should have no meaning to these people.

I have suffered an increase of over $1 in the price of a gallon of gasoline since January. You want to know the cost of voting for Biden? There it is. The price of gasoline is a highly visible indicator. Biden shut down the Keystone Pipeline, and our country is no longer energy-independent. (At least I can get gasoline where I live.)

All the thing mentioned by Reuters are not necessarily memories they are today's situation. I doubt anyone in the White House much trouble sleeping, well maybe Dr. Jill. It is the awake part that is the problem.

Amazon has a goal to get rid of a certain percentage of employees every year - and three managers told Insider they felt so much pressure to meet the goal that they hired people just to fire them: "We might hire people that we know we're going to fire, just to protect the rest of the team," one manager said. The practice is informally called "hire to fire," in which managers hire people, internally or externally, they intend to fire within a year, just to help meet their annual turnover target, called unregretted attrition (URA). A manager's URA target is the

Ever since Joe Biden floated his $1.9 trillion COVID-relief bill, worrywarts like yours truly have been warning about the possibility of inflation. In case you weren’t alive in the 1970s, inflation erodes the value of money. Simply put, your paycheck is worth less today than it was last week or last month. This demoralizing and frustrating decline in purchasing power can have the psychological effect of causing consumers to spend money quickly, for fear that prices will rise. There is also increased pressure on welfare and wages to keep pace with the rising cost of living. Once this cycle gets

Democrats are heading for a major reckoning over the U.S. relationship with Israel, amid a spiraling escalation of violence in recent days that has put pressure on President Joe Biden to get tougher on the Israeli government. The prospect of forced evictions of Palestinians in east Jerusalem and a sustained rocket campaign against Israel this week have laid bare the increasingly thorny political dynamic facing congressional Democrats, more of whom are beginning to question the lockstep bipartisan support for Israel that has existed across Washington. While not abandoning America’s historically strong ties to Israel, Democrats aren’t flinching this week in

The issue of whether the U.S. government is doing enough to tackle international cybercriminals moved to center stage this week after the high-profile attack on a major East Coast energy supplier. Even though Colonial Pipeline has restarted operations, there are still lingering questions about the group that executed the attack and how to prevent future assaults on critical infrastructure. In a news conference yesterday, Biden emphasized the U.S. government's belief that the cybercriminals behind the pipeline company attack are based in Russia – which has become a safe harbor for such groups – but do not work directly for the Russian government.
