Cedar Point guests reported long lines and ride closures opening day weekend.
Park-goers took to Twitter to share their complaints about the waits. A spokesperson for Cedar Point said they plan on reaching out to guests that were disappointed with their experience. They released the following statement:
"Like businesses in our area, in Ohio and across the country, Cedar Point is not immune to hiring challenges. However, we’ve increased wages, enhanced employment incentives like a $500 sign-on bonus and introduced dozens of new full-time, year-round positions. We continue to recruit all year, just as we have in the past, and we will open more park locations as our workforce increases."

I just saw a photo of a sign in front a restaurant: "We are issuing WEEKLY stimulus checks. See manager."

Too early for Cedar Point- it’s a summer time place - still the greatest rides in the world. A great weeks vacation would include Cedar Point, the Football and Rock and Roll Halls of Fame and the Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson.

Why buy the cow when you can get the milk free.
What kind of incentives do lazy hacks (like my daughter's boyfriend) have when they keep getting everything free from the government!

Don't just automatically assume that a person who used to get minimum wage (or little more) for their labor, is now a "lazy bum" for preferring an unemployment check. Think a little before you moralize and paint with such a broad brush. These people did not choose to lose their jobs (lock-downs did this). The service industry lost big time in the covid BS and now want to get back in the game. That is great, but they will have to provide some incentive to attract workers. The unemployment will end soon enough, but if you want workers before then, you gotta pay more than before. Those who can afford to go to a restaurant to eat out are complaining about slow service (and why don't these lazy bums get back to work?!) need to stop and think about their high moral ground.....minimum wage earners cannot afford more than an occasional trip to the fast food drive thru. Please think before you criticize others less fortunate than you.

Nobody wants to work when Uncle Sugar is paying you to sit on your butt and do nothing.

I see Covid will be a main item on many resumes in the future. What did you do during this time will become a popular interview question in the coming year or two.

In 1970, I worked at Cedar Place. We called it Cedar Place because there wasn't any point to the place.

Sorry, #5, not buying what you are selling. They are lazy bums.

Sorry #9, I am not "selling" anything and you just proved my point with your comment about people you don't even know in the slightest. You think the unemployed are both lazy and bums. You are, of course, entitled to your uninformed opinion.

#10 is way off base here. When the government is giving you other people’s money and it is more than you were making, there are two problems here. 1) If you need more than minimum wage then gain some skills and quit making it everyone else’s problem and 2) the government needs to stop this. I personally know many people who have no intention of looking for a job while they are on enhanced unemployment. Don’t be a fool.

Every time Joe tries to "help" he creates a bigger problem. Stop the ridiculously high unemployment payments you wooden-headed moron! The newly acquired illegal aliens will soon nab all of the available jobs and the deadbeats on unemployment will collect it forever and vote democrat forever. Now that I've thought it out, it sounds exactly like a democrat plan.

Thanks for your thoughts, #5, but it's not a pure numbers game, it's a matter of honor, self-respect and doing the right thing. Anybody who has a clear choice between taking charity from the American taxpayers or working a job and chooses the charity is a deadbeat.
#3, make sure the lazy hack does not become your daughter's husband because dealing with that situation is far more complex than putting up with a loser boyfriend.

#10, yes, you are selling the story that folks who would rather collect from the government than work, aren't lazy bums. And NO SALE.
Anyone who CHOSES to take a government handout rather than working is a lazy bum. You seem so invested in this idea....perhaps that hits too close to home?
